Shoyu ramen.
David W.

When I looked this place up online, I saw it listed as being open for dinner starting from 7pm, and also requiring reservations ahead of time. Neither of those things ended up being true, just an FYI. Someone in the know-how should consider updating that. I booked a reservation online to be safe, and showed up slightly before 7pm. They were already open for business, albeit with only a few diners. The restaurant itself is nice, in terms of decor and ambiance; I appreciated the clean spacious bathroom with mouthwash provided. But the food was not impressive. And considering that this place is expensive by Mexico standards, it's definitely overpriced for what you're getting. I ordered the shoyu ramen. The portion was small and it was much too salty and oily, like drinking soy sauce with oil. But I was starving, so I scarfed it down like my boyfriend had just dumped me. As another reviewer mentioned, the kitchen is SLOW, as was the guy who was supposed to bring my bill and take my payment. There was only one table full and one other customer at the bar. Not that I was in a hurry, but what should have been a quick meal ended up being a little over an hour for sub-par and overpriced food in a mostly empty restaurant.

The place itself is really cool with a lot of attention to detail. I love the little piggies to keep the chopsticks from touching the table and the use of cloth napkins/handkerchiefs instead of regular disposable napkins. The ramen is ok but didn't impress me too much. The noodles are not made in house and all of their ramen has the same broth. There are two Rokai restaurants, the one on the left serves ramen and the one on the right has sushi. The restaurant is small but cute and cozy. It's best to have a reservation as I was asked when I arrived. I didn't, but since they weren't busy I was able to get a spot at the bar. I'm not an expert, but from my short experience eating ramen I wouldn't say this place is legit.

Surprised to find such authentic ramen here in Mexico. Several varieties available here with some specials as well. The other food is also on point and you can order sushi next door! Definitely a must try if you're in the area.

Small Japanese ramen place, from first sight, it looked legit. My mom and i went and ordered the Shoyu and ten ten ramen. My expectations for this place were pretty low but surprisingly the ramen was pretty tasty. The broth was flavorful and the noodles were cooked very well. We also ordered a sushi roll, its not on their menu but since the place next door is owned by the same guy, you can ask them about it and they'll give you a different menu. Although i liked the food i am not sure if i would come back that often because its too pricey.

Amazing ramen and gyoza potstickers! We came here on a recommendation from a friend at our hotel and the food was awesome! We plan to return and try different dishes... they also served us some Hibiki Japanese whisky!

My wife and i stumbled on to this place with it being right across the street from our vacation rental while in town. When we walked in and ordered we had no idea how amazing it was going to be. The secret to a great ramen, in my opinion is an amazing broth. You could tell this broth was cooked for a very long time. The noodles in the ramen were a perfect balance between being thin but having a good thickness to them. We will definitely be back when we get the chance to visit Mexico City again!!

One of the best ramen place in CDMX. My boyfriend and I ordered Ramen Rokai Miso and Chashu Gohan, impressed with the flavor. Throughly pleased with my experience here. Will come back to try out other items on the menu soon.

Amazing food. The croquetas were delicious. Great ramen! Good edamame. All of the selections are fantastic.

Service was kind, decor was nice. Ramen was underwhelming. Partner got brutal food poisoning from his Tan Tan.

Ramen is decent if you're looking for a quick fix. Prices are higher than other ramen joints in Mexico City but the quality good.

Terrible Service. In specific the hostess. Food was mediocre (more on the poor side). Overpriced for low quality food.

This place deserves 20 stars if possible. Found this by searching up places and it's great reviews…read moreand this place did not disappoint. It's in a trendy area and upscale although we came dressed mor casual. It's on the second floor and has amazing ambiance. We ordered the dynamite roll, crispy spicy tuna, truffle salmon, miso soups, caterpillar roll and tuna truffle roll. The truffle roll has to be one of the most amazing rolls I've ever eaten, if you like truffle of course. Everything else was amazing as well. The dynamite roll was great and I highly recommend literally everything we had. They also have great drinks, we had a mexcal maracuja drink and lychee martini as well as hot sake. For dessert we chose the tres leche cake and the truffle ice cream cream brûlée. If I say I have never tastes anything as amazing probably almost in my life as this truffle ice cream!! I know if we would have gone to a restaurant of this magnitude in the states it would have cost double of what we paid here. The service was excellent and Samuel and everyone was so attentive.

Wrong, the food was great, beautiful people seated everywhere and friendly, warm servers. Smoking was allowed in the restaurant. Even though none of our party smoked, the tables were spaced far apart enough that it wasn't an issue. Very, very good sushi/sashimi. Not Masa, Nobu or Morimoto good, but could hold its own amongst most other well regarded Japanese restaurants. Glad we were able to find this so close to our Polanco hotel. If you're looking for good sushi/sashimi in CDMX, you won't be disappointed here.
