Best Tempura Rolls Ever! Wow my friend and I have been gushing ever since on how crunchy it was. Seafood was great and fresh. We got a wide variety including poke, rolls, nigiri, hand rolls, and ramen. Service was good. The red lights made for great vibes! Late night meal with no difficulties getting a table. Highly recommend! Pardon the very very red pictures, but that was our experience!

This was one of the best dining experiences I've had! I love food and this place did not disappoint. The drinks were presented beautifully. However, my only complaint would be that you can't really tell if the liquor is there at all. The spicy salmon roll was delicious!!! The curry gyoza was a favorite. The curry sauce was soooooooooo good! The tostada was decent. The pork was a little fatty for me. The restaurant was beautifully decorated. The back room was lovely! I would certainly return.

    Matcha Tiramisu, really good!

Found this place on Yelp since I was craving some sushi, nice place, easy to get a table. Though tables are really small so keep in mind when ordering. Service was exceptional except when I paid my bill in cash, the waiter returned t my table and told me that I have to tip more! I have never heard of such a thing in Mexico since this is my 15th trip to the city itself. I know it's not mandatory in cdmx to tip so this caught me off guard. The waiter did get a little agitated and at that moment I was not going to tip him any further. Apart from service food was great!

Dragon Roll was delicious. I ordered a side of Eel sauce with it which was perfect.

There aren't enough yelp reviews for restaurants in Mexico City places like this are easy to pass over, but I was certainly gonna be back as everything was incredible. Dragon roll was great. I ordered it with a side of eel sauce. The pork Gyoza was some of the best I've ever had and the back courtyard is the perfect ambiance.

When I eat, I want to see my food. Unfortunately this place was too dark inside. The decor was nice and fun. The food was okay.. just too salty for my taste.

Koku was a fantastic find. I was looking for a fusion restaurant (this one is Japanese inspired) instead of the usual Mexican cuisine. I enjoyed many items on the menu including the Gyoza in Curry appetizer and Tori Yakimeshi as an entrée. Both dishes were extremely flavorful and satisfying. I also ordered some tacos but I would not recommend them. They were too fishy! The best part was the dessert. I ordered the Mochi....and oh my God, I still dream about the beautiful texture and taste of the mochi. I would go back just for that! I highly recommend checking Koku out!

Tasty and affordable. Good service even though we walked in late at night. Great ambiance and overall vibe.

This is one of the best restaurants I've encountered. I was so surprised by how clean it was and how every roll was amazing. The dragon roll was my favorite, and their drinks were all spectacular. This is such a hidden gem, and their menu is very quirky and cute. I loved the experience I had and can't wait to go back!

Absolutely delicious, ramen, gyozas & yakimeshi were amazing. Our dessert was perfect, we had a lychee ice cream mochi . We definitely are going back.

It's a perfectly good Japanese Restaurant. Ok, that may sound like damning with faint praise, but it really isn't. This is the kinda place where you can go in, get perfectly good service, a nice sake selection, decent ramen/udon/*something*-don/sushi, have a pleasant evening, and leave satisfied. And that's a good thing! By the way, the fried rice is *stellar*, do get some! Oh, there is a patio out back, away from the street, which is a bit of a respite from the chaos of the 'hood, the place is actually quite a bit bigger on the inside than it looks!

Place was awesome. The food was great. And the service was exceptional. They even made me special miso ramen because my stomach was hurting.

Drove by on way to hotel and was quite busy for lunch. I liked that it had outdoor seating. I went for an early dinner and opted for a big Sapporo beer to start. The two apps were good-shrimp tostada and Gyoza in curry (I would've liked a thicker sauce). I let the waiter recommend the main dish and I was disappointed. It tasted great but there was hardly any meat and too much rice. Hope they adjust that a bit. Would definitely go back.

Food was great, ambiance was great as well! The seating area out in the back was very relaxing. You can either seat in the font, inside or the back. Service was good, they did take a while to bring out the food and drinks, didn't apologize for it but it is what it is. Will I be going back!? Yes I will!!

From the outside it looks like a cute spot from Japan which makes you feel like you teleported and the decor on the inside was very cute. The service was so great, everyone was nice and answered all my questions. From the moment I step foot inside they welcomed me in Japanese and Spanish which really gave to the teleporting vibe. The chef who did my omakase was so nice I wish I remembered his name but you can see him in the picture. His style of omakase was amazing and as we got to the end it just kept getting better and better. He had my dad and I saying "wow" over and over again. One of the courses that blew my mind was the fatty salmon nigiri with shaved frozen foie gras which gave it the perfect buttery texture wow. To top it off he gave us a Wagyu nigiri with uni on top which is literally butter on butter and I was so amazed. The other chef said wait till you try the eel with the foie gras and WOW like it just kept getting better and better. I left sooo full I couldn't finish my dessert even though it was delicious and I felt like I was going to explode so we walked around reforma. Some people think omakase will not fill you up but it sure does! Thank you so much to the team of Rokai for making my birthday amazing !

This place was an absolute hit. Some of the best sushi I've had in months…read more They have plenty of outdoor dining, and friendly, prompt service. They have a pretty extensive menu ranging from cold dishes like sushi to hot dishes like Ramen and rice bowls from next door. We started with two appetizers, the Gyoza and the Shishito peppers. The shishito peppers were excellent, and had a flavor I had never quite experienced with them before from whatever sauce they were made in. They were very delicious. The Gyoza was also very tasty, and had a hint of ginger that was a nice addition. For my meal, I ordered a bunch of pieces of nigiri. Every piece came out perfectly fresh and incredibly made, for an absolutely delicious experience. We finished off with the Matcha tiramisu, a dish I wasn't even expecting to be so incredible. I would love to go back for it, although frankly I'd love to go back to this place for everything I ate tonight. We also shared the strawberry mochi, which was so good we ended up ordering a second one. I'm already looking forward to returning here. All of this that I mentioned, plus the rice bowl that my cousin ordered, was only $80. It is pricey, but less pricey than I was expecting.

JAPANESE COMFORT FOOD - This is not a place you take someone to impress them. The service is decent…read morebut it feels like a fast food place. And it is. But still, you call for assistance by pushing a button and someone comes out to assist you and in that sense the service is generally prompt. The gyudon is their star dish, basically the dish that made Yoshinoya famous rules the menu. It's not gourmet by a long shot, but for those who like the gyudon at Yoshinoya (like my wife) this place is incredible. I also had the tonkotsu ramen. The noodles were thin and very soft, the meat was decent, and the broth was thick and rich, almost like a gravy, but with a rich proper tonkotsu flavor that is surprisingly hard to find in CDMX. As you eat it it goes down almost like dry ramen with added sour cream, which is my favorite form, so so despite the fact culinary elites may scoff at this place, my wife and I will be coming back regularly. If you know my system, any place I would return to weekly is usually an automatic 5 stars, but the yakisoba and the yakituri are a bit too sweet. Still if you stick to tonkotsu or the gyudon and you like this kind of stuff it should land nicely. It may move you like it did us or you may think not much of it but for us it's a win. Give it a shot and let others know what you think. Happy eating from John Seeto!
