I pay a monthly premium for High Dental Plan from GEHA. My wife's dental insurance is under my insurance policy and she is a patient at Kim H Tran DDS since last November. In November my wife called to set up an appointment as a new patient for her first visit at Kim Tran DDS . The receptionist scheduled for the initial appointment in December. In December AFTER all the dental procedures were completed and done with, Kim Tran DDS told my wife that she owes them several hundred dollars that we have to pay from our pocket for 1) x-ray, 2) routine teeth cleaning, and 3) basic dental filling for ONE tooth. Several hundred dollars for xray, routine teeth cleaning, and basic dental filling for ONE tooth with High Dental Plan from GEHA? I have GEHA for dental insurance for over a decade and I've never paid a dime from my pocket for xray, routine cleaning, and filling. They even called me several months later and told me that my wife still owes them $47 in co-pay. Should co-pay be paid at the time of service, not several months later after everything is done and completed? Stay away from Kim H Tran DDS unless you want to get rip off!!

But the staff need improvement…read more I had set an appointment 3 weeks in advance for both my daughters, that way I could take a day off of work to take them to their normal physician then after, here to the Dentist. So 3 days before their appointment, they call and say "sorry it's going to be a holiday that day, sorry we have to reschedule you" (Columbus Day). How did they schedule all these appointments on a holiday??? It's not easy for me to just take days off of work. They rescheduled for Friday. But I can't take both girls on Friday because my oldest is with her Dad on Fridays. So my husband took a day off and took my youngest to the appointment Friday. I noticed while I was at work I had a million missed calls from the Dentist, so I called back, no answer. I left a message just letting them know only one daughter was going to make the appointment. I got 3 more missed calls from them. They couldn't even leave me a message!!!! Why??? I just needed to know why they were blowing up my phone, must not be important if they're not leaving a message. . So my husband makes it to the appointment, They say " Oh sorry we called your wife all morning, we need to reschedule!" He was furious because he had now missed a day of work.. Why couldn't the staff just leave me a message that morning, he could have went to work.. That's one day off work for me and one day off for him, we are now $250 in the hole. Thank you.. Today was the 3rd rescheduled appointment, we got there 15 mins early just in case, still had to wait an hour, I asked the other ppl waiting also their appt was the same time as ours. They ended up leaving after all, if they would have stayed we probably would have waited 2 hours.. while we were waiting the 2 girls up front were just chatting, could have given me change of address paperwork, because when I signed in I wrote "address change" where it says to write it. Come on don't be lazy, during that wait I could have updated my account info.. Other than the wait, the visit with the Doc was nice.. I had to make a Monday Appt. For my oldest still because she can only go Mondays, so here we are, she's going to miss another day of school. In the future they really need to know what days they're open, they need to leave messages , they need to stop double/triple booking appointments.

Dr. Deric evaluated and confirmed it needed two be done. Two lactation consultants and our pediatrician also said it needed to be done. They have a private waiting room which was nice because it's a troubling procedure, but it needed to be done. The staff was great and Dr. Deric explained that she might need a second revision done. Sure enough two weeks later it had started healing together so we went back. After the second procedure I went to the desk to pay and the receptionist said there was no charge. Dr. Deric came out and said that he felt not charging for this second visit was the right thing to do. I had my credit card in hand and was happy to pay. I felt like a friend more than a customer. After the first and second procedure he texted he asking if we needed anything and how my baby was feeling. If I didn't live 90 minutes away I would go to him for all of our dentistry needed.
