Kimcheese Pierogi
Courtney B.

This food truck is located outside of the Brewtique in Cedar Park. Upon my last visit in June of this year, I brought The Things with me and another guest. We ordered several menu items to ensure we would be able to get a real feel for what this place offered. Let's start with this: If for some unknown reason you don't know what a pierogi is, it is Eastern Europe's gift to the world of dumplings. And while it looks like a Mexican empanada, or an Italian mezzaluna, or even a little like a Chinese potsticker, it's not. Fun fact: While dumplings as such are found throughout Eurasia, the specific name pierogi, with its Proto-Slavic root and its cognates in the West and East Slavic languages, including Russian. However, the pierogies served here put a fresh spin on the traditional versions served throughout Eurasia. Pot Roast Pierogi: This classic comfort food (pot roast) that's wonderful and warming is paired with browned pierogis rendering each bite of the pierogi hearty and complex. The beef for this dish is seasoned and seared, bringing forth hints of pepper, garlic, onion, and parsley. The caramelized onions and pickled onions that sit atop the pierogi give it a kick that pulls the dish together. Kimcheese Pierogi This Pierogi has it all; bacon fried rice, kimchi mayo, and pickled chilies! Bacon fried rice is a delightful dish that combines the smokiness of bacon with the comfort of classic fried rice. When paired in this way with the Pierogi and the mayo, etc., it brings forth both a heartiness and spice that is filling. The owner/operator of this truck, Derek, is hospitable and takes pride in his food, and it shows. It must also be noted that the truck changes its offerings and therefore while those who may read this review, view the pretty photos and may want to stop in to get a Pot Roast Pierogi or the Perigio Taco, it may not be available. But don't let that stop you from ordering something else! #supportlocal

I tried the new food truck "Rogues" at the Thicket food truck park and was met with warm service and interesting menu selections. Think pierogis, but Texas style. All of their modern flavors sounded interesting, but we opted for the veggie pierogis, which come with olive oil garlic & potato pierogis topped with mushroom "paprikash" and sweet onion puree. The flavors were robust and the pierogis were perfectly fried. We loved the flavor combinations. My only complaint is that I wish their portions came with four instead of three pierogis for maximum share-ability.

Pulled pork pierogi

So yum! Thought the stuffing would be pork but it wasn't. These were so good and so fun! Like just a mound of random things you would never imagine being good together but was sooo good! Pork was nice and flavorful and the pierogi was good in itself.

Just won second place at Pittsburgh Perogie fest.

Meticulous attention to detail is provided to a food that can easily be overlooked. My perogies we perfectly prepared and the sides of red cabbage and grilled onions were a delicious companions. I added a fried chicken leg, which was also perfect. The food truck court has ample shade for dining during hot days. Can't wait to go back!

Just try them all ok (but definitely the pot roast)

I'm usually one to avoid food trucks because I don't know why...but this one is next level. When the menu uses terms like gastrique and shaved onion it can't be bad right? They are located at The Brewtique in Cedar Park Wednesday to Saturday so you can enjoy these with a lovely cold beer or other beverage of your choice indoors with AC. The pierogies are fresh, perfect and tasty BUT the accoutrements are where it's at. We didn't know what to expect really after looking at the menu so we went with a sampling. My friend ordered the pot roast and we were blown away. It comes with a side of roast with amazing flavors of onion, horseradish and just plain savory goodness. You dip your pierogi right in and something magical happens. Warning: you'll probably get addicted. The OG was also fantastic. Pierogies with onions, cabbage, horseradish and beet gastrique. I'm a big fan of dessert and was interested to try a dessert pierogi. Well I didn't regret that at all. I could have eaten all of them by myself but I had to share. They were blueberry cream with a nice powdered sugar dusting and some really nice looking fruit on top. It's a pet peeve of mine when the fruit on top is looking sad or discolored because a nice appetizing piece of fruit means someone cares what their food looks like and tastes like! I can't wait to go back and try the other flavors! Order at the truck or online and they'll text when it's ready. Made to order so it'll be fresh, warm, and beautifully presented with these cute little red/white tablecloth napkins and high quality to go boxes if you need to travel.

I was lucky enough to go to the food truck opening and try the pierogi the way Derek intended and OMG!!! My friends and I had a little of everything and it was all so tasty and fresh and unique. The guys in the truck were friendly and helpful and I'll be returning soon and often.

Sweet potato ice cream "mochi".

We have eaten here many times now and I hate that I haven't yet shared my thoughts. The food is incredible!! The chef has an incredible way of pairing flavors and the presentation is gorgeous. We have had the watermelon salad, Summer Veg, Kim cheese, the side tacos and my person fav the sweet potato ice cream. I'm so sorry I don't have photos of them all, but every little bit was savored and enjoyed. Do yourself a favor and go check them out!

The Pierogis are ok, but very expensive for what you get. Still looking for a good Pierogi house in the north Austin area.

I stopped at Dos Gatos for coffee and also picked up a few sweet treats for later (wink, wink!) Dos Gatos, which I believe means two cats, is a shop for "on the go" folks...no inside seating and small space. The shop focuses on fast service, and fresh baked goods, with kolaches baked daily. Dos Gatos has a variety of items such as sweet kolaches with traditional fillings like apricot, poppy seed, strawberry, raspberry, and cream cheese. They have savory kolaches such as sausage and cheese, jalapeño sausage, chorizo, ham and cheddar, and vegetarian sausage options. The turkey sausage kolache was the standout...sometimes called a pig in the blanket. One downside of the sweet kolaches is they are rather small. I forget how small they were until my hubby mentioned also. A surprise bonus was their full espresso bar, which includes lattes, cappuccinos, mochas, chai, cold brew, etc. Pricing was at the low end of the spectrum. I purchased coffee, sweet and savory kolaches.

Just in case your favorite is still baking or sold out before you got here. Got my heart's desire of a cherry kolache and a ham and swiss for breakfast. Mr R selected a lone vegetarian sausage with cheese and jalapeño and we sat in happy silence consuming warm plates of joy. Breakfast for two adults $15

The food was phenomenal! Varenyki was the best I have ever had WOW. Borsch was really good, different than ones I had before (which were much heavier on beet root and made with beef ) but this one was amazing as well, I wish it was heavier on beet root but still the top 5 soups I have ever had! The pirozhuk was amazing, a fried dough filled with a mashed potato. Fluffy and delicious I would eat this every day of my life if I could. A definite "visit again" kind of place! This is a small restaurant with minimal seating and lovely decorations to reflect the Ukrainian culture. We ordered the: -Borsh (Chicken, cabbage, bell peppers, onions, carrots, potatoes. Topped with sour cream & cilantro) and the -Dumplings (Choice of chicken or lamb. Topped with cilantro, sesame seed mix, sour cream and red sauce) both about $14.00. We also ordered a -Kompot, cold (Boiled blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, apples. Served hot or cold) to share which was absolutely delicious. The portions are small but very savory and surprisingly filling. We really enjoyed the quiet and cozy atmosphere and plan to return again soon. Thanks for such delicious food ~LindaD
