I've been coming here for a few years and I can't believe I've yet to review it! I recently decided to pull some pictures with my camera since I felt it was the right time, they had great options available. The ambiance always feels like fall here too, even in other seasons. I went to grab a 6 count of their apple cider donuts without sugar coating and a pack of their apple fritter bites coated with sugar, truly one of my favorites! I can vouch for their pies as well as their other flavored donuts as I've tried mostly all of them through time. While taking pictures, I stumbled upon something I've been missing on trying which was their apple cider slushie running at $2 each, they are self serve. It was so good, you can't pass that or their fresh apple cider for a $1 a cup, also self serve. This establishment is most definitely a long time local hidden gem, a favorite for many! They have apple picking available, apples for sale inside, as well as pies, more donuts, & a plethora of other fall items to purchase. Some staff members do seem friendlier than others but I try my best to never judge as my experiences still have continuously gone well. Go show this establishment some love and support! There's no better place on this planet to obtain Macintosh apples in the fall than Roger's Orchards. I had a death in the family and a celebration of life event attended by and wanted to bring something near and dear to me. I purchased a bushel of 1st tier apples, pristine and delicious. On my exploration of cider mills in Connecticut this was my second stop. I tried their $1 cup of honey apple cider which was delicious! Had to get their apple cider donut, I tried without the sugar coating this time. No 2 apple cider donuts are the same, this one was reminded me of an old fashioned donut. Got some maple popcorn and peanuts all delicious. Service was great with multiple cashiers inside and outside accommodate the rush. Theoretically, our favorite Rogers Orchard store is the one on Longbottom Road. Both are definitely worth the trip. Today we have Macoun apples, apple cider, honey, pumpkins, and of course apple fritter donuts on our shopping list. Fresh, melts in your mouth, deliciousness whether it's from mother nature in the orchards, the hives in the field, or the man-made bakery that's irresistible! This is a really nice classic apple orchard. I stopped here on the way back from a road trip to the Poconos and it really hit the spot. Pick-your-own prices were about typical. They have a huge variety of apples and the orchards were not overpicked. You can get to a decent selection of apples without walking too far, although as always with pick-your-own, you might get a better haul if you are willing to walk. Not too many areas of the orchard were closed off. The farm store has a variety of local products like fresh pies, cider donuts, maple syrup, jams and jellies. I would definitely come back here for apple picking next Fall! read more

First place we visited upon arrival to CT. Relatives raved about this place and couldn't wait to have a cider donut. whaaaat! It is comfort breakfast/snack/dessert. We got here on a Saturday morning and the place was buzzing with happy people enjoying the fall weather. All different sizes of pumpkins everywhere outside (yay pumpkins!) Beautiful property. Apples of all kinds inside of course. The baked goods selection was amazing, and although not a big sweets fan, my relatives bought us some cider donuts and a candy apple. Mercy! The donuts were in a bag and had the right amount of cinnamon and sugar, I was starving from our flight but a little sugar and starch goes a long way. I saved the candy apple for later, and when I attempted to eat it, made me so nostalgic for childhood harvest festivals at the first crunch. I tried to be careful so I didn't break my teeth, but the crunchy candy coating was sooo good, and the apply was crisp and juicy. They also have apple cider, apple butter and real maple syrup for sale.. didn't get any this time. The setup of the store is warm, sweet and happy. Happy fall, everyone! read more

Super cute barn/orchard. The location is soo big and driving in you runs past the reservoir which is so beautiful. On the other side you can overlook the mountains, really a stunning place. Really great orchard in the heart of Connecticut. We stopped by and you can pick lots. Of great varieties just steps from parking which is great. Gala, Macintosh Honeycrisp were all in season. Reasonable prices. Just remember that you are picking your own apples, not apples for the orchard as the couple in front of us learned (an expensive lesson). The the stand itself had everything you'd want: fritters, other fresh vegetables, apple cider Yum! And friendly service too. read more

Decided to stop for some apples. Sign post about wearing a mask outside the entrance, due to COVID. Inside there were apples of all kinds , the barn smelled wonderful. There were also baskets of apples of all sizes. I decided on Empire and Macoun , two varieties that I cannot get at home. They looked awesome. The employees all had masks on , I believe there was hand sanitizer present also( I carry my own). They also had baked goods there, that looked good. I felt the prices were fair, I thought it was a good experience . However when I bit into a Macoun , it was more like a MacIntosh. I do know that Macouns are created from MacIntosh and Jersey Black , sadly not what I had expected. Cannot wait to try an Empire. It was overall a goood experience. read more

This is a good farm with apple picking which has a variety of apples including honey crisp. I only visited their store. I took a bucket of honey crisp from the store. There is a big difference between first quality and second quality apples. I went for the second quality apple. Though it doesn't look great, it tastes the same. Apple cider specifically from gala apples and honey crisp, was good. Both were nice. If you like ginger, they have the ginger buzz soda. It has a harsh ginger taste, but not too sweet. Honeycomb cider soda was sweet. I also loved their apple sour cream coffee cake. read more

Cute orchard that is a fun place to go if you're looking for a fall activity. They didn't have a ton of apples when we went but I imagine that was just due to timing. My only complaint is that they stopped weighing the apples you pick and just make you buy a certain amount right from the beginning. I didn't need an entire bag that big so I ended up splitting one with my friends. But the donuts here are really good and they're definitely worth coming for! Absolutely love the apples, desserts and cider here! Their apple pie is a staple item for any family party. It is that good! Their apples are great as well- you can't go wrong with their empire or honey crisp in my book. My favorite item there though would have to be their apple cider donuts. My only downside to this place is that most recently I visited and the staff was very unpleasant. I went to their apple and cheese tasting and the girls working there could not care an ounce about if you're getting helped or not. Very rude and looking back on my 10+ years of going here I cannot even recall a time when the staff was actually friendly or welcoming. The apple cider donuts are amazing! Don't buy the ones that are already prepackaged, they tend to be dry. Get the ones made fresh that they hand package for you on the spot! They were still warm on Saturday and amazing!! They're apple cider is very good as well! I recently bought some at another orchard and it was terribly sour. I have been to Rogers two times since I wrote this review and unfortunately I have to turn my five star review into a two star review. The donuts have been dry and cakey and not good at all. IM so disappointed with the quality and as of today I'm not going back for donuts ever again. I even asked the girl working if they were fresh , she guaranteed to me that they were. We live only a few miles away so I stop in multiple times each year for whatever happens to be in season be it apples, plums, pears, corn, squash etc. Prices are reasonable and you can be certain the produce is fresh. The part time workers staffing the cash registers have been uniformly pleasant. Last year, we bought apples at the Rogers Orchards store. This year we went to the Rogers Orchards orchard and picked them. The trees are pretty small so you don't have to do any climbing. While the apples were bright and naturally shiney, I wished could have tasted some as we picked. The Courtlands were pretty picked over the day we went, but we still managed to get quite a lot. Coming from the Left Coast, this was a new and delicious find for me. It's a very crisp, sweet and tart apple. Yummy. At the store, they sell apple cider donuts which are fantastic. Skip the bagged ones and opt for the ones fresh from the oven. Cider was good, too. Beautiful setting near the New Britain reservoir. The trees nearby had great fall color in October, all on lovely hills surrounding the place. While I would've loved to spend the day in the orchard, it seemed like we'd end up buying way more than we ever could use. I suppose if we had the time, we could've made apple cider, apple butter, apple chips, apple pies, and just snacked on apples. Unfortunately, we didn't. Next time? Maybe. read more

All of their pies are frozen and come straight out the freezer from another company. They also get their donuts sent over from the other rogers orchard so they are not fresh at all unless on weekends. The managers and bakers in the back do not wear gloves when preparing any of the food nor do they wash their hands. The managers treat their employees terribly and over work underage kids and give them zero respect. I used to work here so I have first hand witnessed all of this. read more

Fantastic tasting donuts (covered with cinnamon and sugar), cider, and apple pies. I loved the Dutch apple pie! They have pick your own apples as well as apples and other produce in the store to purchase. Overall a pretty small orchard with no extra activities for the "kids". The do have a cute bunny though :) The service was friendly and the prices were right. Really good apple orchard in a picturesque plot of land in Southington. There's nothing quite like bringing a lunch, picking a bunch of apples, and having fun in the late summer/early fall sunshine. They've got multiple varieties, including Jonamac (personal favorite), McIntosh ,Red Delicious and Cortland (personal second favorite) The experience of an apple right from the tree is truly enlightening. One taste, and you'll feel like you've been jipped every time you went the supermarket for produce. Don't forget to stop by the farmers market too, with fresh fruits and veggies, apple cider, and devilishly good cider donuts. -1 star for NO apple pickers! Some of these trees are VERY tall, and I was scolded like a child by an employee for climbing one. Oh, I see, so there's no way to OBTAIN all those wonderful huge apples at the top of the trees, while all the low branches have been horrendously picked over? This is by far one of the best orchards I have been to! They had a ton of different apples in season when I went there to go apple picking. The prices were extremely cheap for the apples you pick yourself! They also have pre-picked apples in the store that are cheap as well. Their store is filled with yummy treats such as Apple butter, Apple Cider (regular and sparkling!), pies, donuts and much more. The chicken pies are delicious and they don't skimp on the chicken, the fruit pies are usually very good but I picked up a blueberry pie a few days ago ant it tasted exactly like a store bought IGA pie similar taste and looks. Usually their pies look homemade and have a wonderful slightly salty flaky crust. Not sure what happen there? Any way with that said I will try the pies again one more time. I do find the prices to be a bit steep. I would buy more of their items if they lowered the prices a bit. read more

This was our first year of coming here and found it to be really nice. A great ride no matter where you are coming from. Trees were filed with plenty of apples for pick your own. It is a fun way to spend family time while picking apples on a weekend. Great selection of apples to pick, store has lots of vegetables and other fruit for purchasing, and it was packed with people buying everything under the sun to enjoy. I love this place and everything about it is great, although I had a big let down this weekend with their customer service. I purchased some pumpkins, bread, half and half and donuts on Saturday- with cash. Looking forward to farm fresh 1/2 and 1/2 in my coffee Sunday morning, it turned out it was bad and I ruined my partners and my coffee. I called in to inform the staff and inquired about a refund and they said sure no problem you can bring it in and we'll replace or refund. I then went there and told them I called and spoke to someone and the young lady said okay I'll take care of it. She then came back with another young lady and asked for a receipt. I said no, I didn't have one and they told me we can't refund without a receipt- it's our policy. They failed to mention it on the phone call. Sadly, this is enough for me to not return. I don't mind paying high prices for good quality but if you can't treat customers fairly, then that's unacceptable. I won't be returning. read more

I went here yesterday with my mother and son. They are not ready for the season at all. Very overpriced the donuts are not fresh and the shelves are bear. They used to have tons of stuff now they have nothing. To top it off they had a drill blasting in the front of the store. My son who has sensory issues got scared and I couldnt even hear my mother talk who was next to me. This place has gone way down hill dont bother! read more
