    Tasting Room
    Christopher B.

This is a farm winery gem. When what turned out to be the owner drove up on a tractor we weren't sure what to expect -- a good lesson in not judging a book by it's cover! Don't expect a crowd (we had the place almost to ourselves for most of the experience), and leave any budding wine snobbery at home as the tasting room is pretty much an old farm house that more than a few families probably outgrew over the last 50-70(?) years; but, rest assured that what's being crafted here is agro-evidence that skillful wine making is happening. This isn't an apple and berry bottler making wine coolers out of unsold fruit from the farmer's market. The owner's knowledge was expansive, he was personable and friendly & at the same time down to earth and a real gentleman. We both thought all of the wines were quite good...some of the reds even excellent. Looking forward to our next visit!

Our dog enjoyed the tasting, but man did she get wasted! (just kidding)

Nice selections of local wines. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is close to the city but quite and secluded.

The wine was all around solid, particularly the petit Verdot, which would be a great wine to have with steak.

I visited Morais Vineyards for the first time yesterday to celebrate a dear friend's birthday, and…read moreI truly didn't know what to expect since I had never heard of it before. From the moment we arrived, I was completely blown away. As we parked and walked toward the field--with gazebos and a dock with seating--I immediately noticed how kid-friendly the vineyard is. The playground setup was incredibly creative and perfect for sparking a child's imagination. I honestly wish I had known ahead of time because I would have brought my little one! The property itself is beautiful and very well maintained. There were horses roaming around, which added such a peaceful charm. As we explored, I kept noticing thoughtful and unique touches everywhere--from a stunning wine tree to large decorative clay pots, and even buildings designed to resemble a Greek town that house classic cars. It all made the experience feel extra special. There was a wedding taking place, so part of the property was closed off, but it was easy to see how perfect this venue would be for an intimate "I do." Inside the main building, they offered a great selection of food, an impressive wine list available by the glass, bottle, or flight, and hands down the best wine slush I've ever had. My only critique is that it seemed like the AC wasn't working inside, and I really felt for the bartenders who were working so hard as it got busier throughout the day. Overall, I absolutely loved this place. It's one of the few spots that truly caters to both adults and children, and I'll definitely be back.

I went on Mother's Day to see the Chris Ryan band, and it was a lovely day…read more There is a stage for the band, there is a playground for kids, there are animals that are very friendly, including a very noisy peacock and a peahen. One side of the main building is the winery area, and the other side is the brewery area, the signage is a little hard to decipher, but it's pretty easy to figure out by asking. The wines were delicious, I tried a white and a red, and Anna, who served me, was very patient with my questions, even though the line was long. I appreciated that and I didn't feel rushed. The other young lady also helped me, and the staff was incredibly nice, even though the line was very long. There are multiple picnic tables out in the open area in front of the stage, and there's a lovely seating area right in front of the winery and around the side, and there's even a little hidden grotto that's very pretty. They have lights outside, so it probably looked very pretty after dark too. If you want to sit at the picnic tables, pick one under a tree, because the sun does get pretty brutal. I also recommend possibly bringing something to sit on, or you can bring a blanket and sit in the grass. I brought a large cooler with a picnic,, and they did come and inspect it, but it was fairly perfunctory. I brought my own nonalcoholic things to drink, in glass bottles, and I had my own glass, and there was not an issue with that. I would advise bringing some food, as at this gathering I think the only food truck was a pizza truck. When I had gone before, they gave the option of a fruit and cheese platter, but I didn't see any this time. I think the food trucks rotate, but you could probably call and ask. It's a lovely place, but if you don't know where you're going, you might miss it, so look for the sign in and a white truck with black lettering with the name of the brewery and the Vineyard on it. All in all, I would absolutely recommend this for an afternoon, and they have rotating bands that play, and it makes for a lovely day out.

Had the entire upstairs to ourselves with our own bathroom! I highly recommend this place for a nice weekend getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The breakfast both mornings was a mini delicious feast! Carla is an excellent cook! The meals are served family style! We were served this delicious homemade rose' jelly that she was even nice enough to give us the recipe too! The decor of the house was beautiful and clean. The rooms come with a mini fridge. Which was great bc we were so stuffed from breakfast that we didn't get to eat our picnic lunch she made for us! There are tons of wineries in the area to visit. Carla was amazing with offering suggestions and bits of information about most of them. There are also various handouts at the house to browse over as well. The nearby towns offer great places to eat for dinner. Last but certainly not least, you get an insulated bag to take your cheesecake home in! Plus, I love horses and just being able to look at the horses made me happy, even if I couldn't ride them. I'm not sure what the usual set up is like, but through our deal we were fed food from the moment we arrived to the moment we departed, and all of the food was amazing. Karla was there with a warm smile to greet us, and the Sunday breakfast was spectacular - if you're there for it, take small bites because more and more food just keeps arriving and you'll regret filling up on bread and pastries early on! Because we had our pooch with us, we stayed in the barn loft. It was very quiet (you can't hear or smell the horses at all), and had the upper apartment. It was very clean, very spacious, and a comfortable quiet getaway. Leave the windows open to listen to crickets all night long. Though I completely understand why they must have the rule, it's hard to see so much open land and have to keep your dog leashed all of the time. Our poor pooch just wanted to stretch her city legs in the grass and there are not paths to walk around in the woods on the immediate property. There are various vineyards and wineries near by (that allow dogs), and a 20 minute drive from several town hubs for dinner. The only criticism I can think of was that the food was all so incredibly delicious, but the coffee was not very good at breakfast. The high caliber of the meal just demands the compliment of french pressed coffee with high quality beans! And yes, as you guessed it, the cheesecake was divine!
