Came here for a new grip for my putter. Ended up also buying a hardcover for my driver. Good service as the counter person was very helpful, directing me to where the grips are located and what choices they had. Later, another counter person helped me with my replacement grip and later followed up with how the replacement was coming along. They're a good value, tho it's hard to say as there's not a lot of comparable place to gauge them against. With their good service and vide selection, it feels like they are a good value. Just a shout out to Joey who helped me with my driver. I went in today looking for a new shaft and grip due to my club having a cracking sound after hitting a drive. I iniitally thought that my shaft was cracking under the strain and after paying for the new shaft, grip, and labor, he proceeded to remove the head. It appeared that the screw was so loose that it was almost ready to fall off. This apparently was the problem as he tightened it and I tried it out in one of the bays. It solved the problem and I save a bunch of money not having to deal with a new shaft and grip. That's for a great customer service experience. read more

Had some time to kill today so stopped by Roger Dunn Golf located in the Ward Centre. It used to be where Famous Footwear was located . As I walked in I was greeted right away so customers service is excellent. I was walking around and looking at various of golf clubs then another associate came up to me and ask if I needed . Prices are on the high side set of golf clubs is over $999 a set I was maybe looking for prices around $499 - $600 range lol . It was a good experience I haven't step inside a golf store ever since I gave up golfing around 5 years ago . FYI the new location at Ala Moana has a parking lot with the entrance on Kona St, or you can walk from the second floor of the Target parking lot. I went in to pick up some irons and wedges, and also to demo hybrids and drivers. I worked with Mark, and he was fantastic! He never pushed me to buy anything, instead offering recommendations based on how I was hitting each club, rather than trying to sell the highest-priced options. Mark even helped me find an iron set that was a little more affordable, which allowed me to get a new driver and a sand wedge as well! Located at ward center, this is the best location on Oahu to find what you are looking for as far as golf equipment. Even on the mainland, the stores there cannot compared to this Roger dunn. I've bought my equipment here for years. Every time I go to the mainland, I'm shocked at how little inventory the stores have compared to this store. So why wait so long to write a review? I entered a golf tournament and a friend accidentally broke my driver shaft. I came into the Oahu Roger Dunn done looking for a shaft replacement, and after hitting a number of driver shafts, we came to the conclusion that it would be best for me to use an older shaft that I had until the newer drivers were released. Let's give an update for the new Roger Dunn location. This was my first time going there as I needed a couple of grips for my putter and hybrid. What a huge improvement from the previous location. This Roger Dunn is located in Ward Village at the west end along Kamakee St. This store is much bigger, brighter, and cleaner with an abundance more selection of everything golf related. Parking is aplenty and much easier. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. You can tell they enjoy the new store. Each section is so spacious and open that you can see everything inside. It's clean, and well organized. The putting area is a lot bigger with a lot more putters. You can also test some drivers and other clubs with the golf launch monitors. I got my new grips. Next visit, I'll bring my clubs in for the switch. It's $4 per club. No appointments necessary. Not bad! You can also trade in your golf clubs. Let's go! Fore! read more

Less than stellar experience. Lack of enthusiasm from sales staff to assist finding a full set of golf clubs. Sales team seemed more interested in goofing off playing around in the store than helping customers. I stood around for an hour waiting for assistance of buying a full set of clubs and even though the store had only a few customers I was not attended to for demo, fitting or advice. Leaving Roger Dunn I headed to ProAm just down the street where I was the staff immediately attended to all requirements. Bought a full set and left with satisfaction I purchased exactly what I needed. I went to Roger Dunn in Honolulu based on recommendations and reviews but I never saw any of the positive side of what other reviewers mentioned. Love this location as it's so much easier to park (for free) and get to. Use the 15 minute parking right when you turn into the garage or if you are lucky, there's some before you get to the garage too. Everyone here is very helpful if you need it. Any advice, which I definitely need, they got you. ;) Join their email list and be on the lookout for their sales! It's the best. They also do a trade in where you can sell your clubs you do not want anymore for store credit. I have not done this just yet but I have shopped through the trade in inventory. Anything you buy, you have 90 days to try and if you don't like it, they will give you store credit. I think this is awesome. Last year, we had planned to regrip our clubs, but the pandemic struck, and Roger Dunn Golf Shops closed temporarily. Fortunately, our grips weren't too badly worn, but, yeah, there were several times while out on a golf course that I felt my grip slip in my hands, and that's even with the Winn Dri-Tac Wrap grips. We've procrastinated another year since Roger Dunn's reopening last May 2020 because we had only played a few times and were complying with the pandemic stay-at-home orders. We recently brought our clubs into the new Ward Village location of Roger Dunn Golf Shops for regripping services. This new location is so much larger and better laid out than its former Kapiolani Boulevard site in the Heald College Building. I remarked to my husband that it's like a wonderland for golfers as we heard the thwack from golfers in the new hitting stalls, quickly spotted the club fitting stations with golf simulators, men's and women's apparel, shoes, golf bags, and racks of various brands of golf clubs. Ah, but we came here to regrip our golf clubs as the last time we used our clubs, we could feel the deterioration, and we understand that having the right-sized and clean grips can make the difference in how we play the game. Upon entry, several staff members behind the cashiers' counter immediately greeted us. Seeing that we were clutching our golf clubs, they asked if we were bringing the clubs for regripping services. One of the female sales representatives directed us to lay down our clubs on the counter while selecting the grips that we wanted. Drazen (sp?), one of the male sales representatives, accounted for our clubs and wrote up our invoice. He mentioned that it would take several days to have both sets done, but we weren't in a hurry, so we said we could wait a week. The female staff member said that they might be able to get it done before the weekend but requested that we call before coming in. After leaving our clubs, we wandered around this huge store and started to look at new golf clubs. But, I'm happy with my clubs, so I wasn't looking too hard to replace them. LOL. If anything, we can never have enough golf balls, so we wandered off to pick up a couple of boxes. I like playing with Titleist ProV1x or Callaway Chrome Soft Golf Balls, whereas my husband prefers the Titleist ProV1 or Bridgestone Tour B Rx. Well, we picked up a box of our preferred Titlelist golf balls and waited for four days when we got a call to pick up our clubs. I would've given 5-stars given the friendly and helpful service and huge inventory to choose from BUT it seemed that technician who worked on my husband's clubs was rather messy because there was de-activating solvent still on some of the steel shafts and on some of the grips. This location was about an easy 10-15 walk from the Ala Moana Center. The friendly staff welcomed me and were attentive. They pointed me towards their selection of Hawaii exclusive merch from major golf brands. My favorite was the Taylormade shaka bag! Also a good selection of golf clubs, both new and used. We were in the area and after being hooked on golfing for the past month, I decided to go check this location out and see what they have compared to the Pearl Highlands. We parked in the Ward shopping center parking garage. It is a bit tight (4Runner driver) also 6ft maximum clearance as well. We took the stairs down and once in the right side of the shopping center Roger Dunn is at the end. I was in awe when we entered. I felt like a child in a candy store. The glove section was on the right side of the entrance. I grabbed a LH Titleist glove and glove holder. I also checked out the preowned section and they had a lot more options to choose from. Although I didn't need a new club I sure wanted to get one. It was very busy and there were a lot of customers but staff are always walking around asking if we needed help with anything. We checked out and when leaving I had a feeling I had to go back to get more things. Started looking online for the "other" stuff. Found Vessel golf bags and although pricey I found myself attracted to the quality. Went to Roger Dunn on Black Friday just to see what they had and surprisingly they carried a few Vessel models. Also surprisingly they didn't have much of a Black Friday sale. The bag cost retail and we were going home to order the sale bag online but the salesperson warned us about the shipping cost. We were sold lol. Got the bag and am super happy with the purchase. While I have reviewed Dunn within the past year, I feel that they deserve another 5-star review and this is because of one employee who has consistently provided exceptional customer service every time I went to Dunn. Who is this employee? Larrin (hope I spelled his name right). I'm *that* player who blames the club for not hitting the ball well (yes, I know deep, DEEP down...that it's me. Not the club. But let me live in denial, okay?) so I have often gone into Dunn looking for a 3 wood, driver, and hybrid (these were separate occasions). And each time, Larrin helped me out. He would always ask if I needed help and, me being stubborn, would always initially say, "oh I'm okay. Just looking." But then I would change my mind and let him know...well actually, I'm looking for a hybrid because I can't seem to hit the one I currently have. Each time, Larrin has been patient and helpful. He would see which clubs I wanted to try, see how I hit on them, then make recommendations on which club seemed best for me. There were times when he even gave me swing advice too. read more

I have been a loyal customer from the very beginning, I have bought a lot of golf equipment and have never had a problem before. Today I went in to purchase a used driver and was told that it did not come with one because it was tag with a red sticker, this has never happened to me before, no matter what the color of the used sticker I was always given a head cover. Why today of all days? Numerous explanations that is how it has always been per employee claiming to be with the company for 16 years ... I beg to differ because this is the first time it has happening to me. To solve the problem they wanted me to buy a head cover for $9.00+. I decided not to buy the club. Had a run in with Chris ,at Pearl City store , about returning clubs, I was hitting balls in bay and I hear Chris yelling at me from across the store. He seemed angry and was getting everyone's attention I didn't want to escalate the situation so I didn't reply to his ranting. A few weeks later I tried to return a new putter I had brought from Roger Dunn recently and was told I could only get a trade in value instead of full value even if it was well in the 90 day guarantee. I was upset but left store went to Ala Moana store were they happily gave me full value after they checked they said there was no reason for Pearl city store couldn't have done the same. I think Roger Dunn is awesome place to shop for golf clubs but I really hope that there motto of satisfaction guarantee is more than words Serveral of your employees witness and commented how wrong my situation was handled. I have to admit I thought I knew what I was doing when it came to choosing clubs, shaft flex, club type, etc and listening too much to YouTube videos lol and my game was toilet water...until now. All I can say is that the staff at this site was exceptional especially Landon and another person that helped me...FIT ME to exactly the clubs I needed for my swing and the numbers don't lie. Went in with intentions of getting an idea and to look until I figure things out. I needed to fill the gap between my 3 wood and iron. Unfortunately I didn't get his name but the gentleman with the glasses kindly ran me through options and did not push the latest and greatest on. Being told I was looking for possibly used clubs he walked me over and pulled 3 clubs, two 5 woods and a hybrid 4. Then points points me over to give each a swing in the box where he even gave some pointers and which one I had more control with, which I really appreciated because on my own I wouldn't have caught. My visit yesterday reminded me that I needed to publish this review (sorry this is late). The employees at Roger Dunn are very knowledgeable about golf and so welcoming! Every time I enter the store the employees greet me and ask if I need help. I love their uniforms! I wish they sold them! Last time the employee Allyson assisted me to find a range finder. I never knew I needed a range finder until now! I bought the Bushnell Tour V5 Shift Range Finder and I LOVE IT!! What really sold me was the slope compensate and visual jolting feature. Even my playing partners ask to use this range finder, and are surprised by how high tech it is. Although there was so many choices, Allyson made the selection process a breeze! I've been shopping at Roger Dunn for years. Their new location is amazing! It's centrally located with lots of parking. It's a one stop shop for all of your golfing needs. All of the staff are really friendly and willing to help but I have to give a huge shout out to Nate. He is a master at fitting clubs to your swing. Roger Dunn's 90 day 100% Satisfaction Guarantee is a joke. No one can guarantee a 100% of anything. Someone bought a golf bag from RD for me as a gift and the bag broke in two weeks. My 90 day satisfaction guarantee choices. 1. Get replacement bag from manufacturer under warrant. 2. Get Store Credit. Getting another bag with a serious flaw does not even give me 35% satisfaction.
