Kellen got back to me quickly and the cost for regripping was reasonable. I went around opening and he was able to regrip them for me right there (vs waiting a few days). Kellen is an expert club fitter and makes great recommendations that will change your golf game forever! For example years ago he introduced me to Fujikura Ventus velocore driver shafts which provide unbelievable performance and consistency. Recently he fitted me with Fujikura axiom velocore graphite shafts for my new callaway ai300 apex irons. The feel and performance of that whole package is truly a game changer with results I've never experienced in golf before. I had a fitting session with Kellen in December 2024. Picked up new driver in January 2025. Finally was able to hit the driver on the course last week. Only one drive went into the rough, but at least the lie wasn't that bad. All the other drives were consistent in both distance and direction. After the first few drives, it gave me confidence hitting the ball and didn't have any thoughts about hitting my drive into the hazards. Though I should of asked for a quote, just from his uninviting demeanor I doubt he was going to share that part willingly. I've had the same exact work done for other clubs and it was half the price. I like to support local/small businesses. However today I was very disappointed. I am sure by the previous reviews that Mr. Asao is a great instructor. But his club fitter, needs to learn a little bit more of customer service. Not welcoming, very standoffish. Came there for help in regripping the clubs, checking lofts/lie. And when I was unsure of grip size & what were the lie, seemed like a crime I didn't know. That's why I wanted to check what they were. I had lost the original assessment/specs that Taylormade Performance center had built my clubs to. I just wanted to check. Then we start to write up the ticket and says 3-4 business days! Wow! I just wanted to get my sticks checked for loft & lie adjustments as from past experiences with some manufactures don't exactly follow your order online. Went in to check the loft/lie of used clubs I recently purchased. Kellen let me know the best way to do that was for a scheduled fitting. So, made an appt for a few days later. Once at appt, he had me in front of the track man, hit a few balls, and then he offered his ideas/thoughts. We agreed on what work was needed on the clubs and 3-4 days later clubs were ready for pick up. Will definitely be back for all my golfing needs! Went to see Kellen Asao once or twice to see if he could fix my dreaded "S" word that all golfers experience... (shank). Kellen is a very accomplished and elite golfer who made me feel extremely comfortable and NOT embarrassed at all during our lesson! Sorry folks for the late review. I took my golf clubs for repair (re-gripping and flatten club lies) in the past couple months ago. The owner is Mr. Kellen Asao. Kellen is also an accomplish golfer in his own right. Bottom line is that he did a good job repairing my golf clubs and I just want to acknowledge his good work and honesty. His prices are a bit higher than Roger Dunn; but, at least he takes the time to repair my clubs correctly. Roger Dunn totally sucks! Roger Dunn at Pearl City location totally screwed-up my clubs. -Re-gripped my clubs here, and was pleasantly surprised that I could watch the owner (Kellen) do the repair. I usually go to Roger Dunn where they just take my clubs in the back. Therefore, I'm always worried about whether my clubs will get scratched or if I'm getting the same clubs back. You never know nowadays! This will be my permanent spot for club repair. Staff wear masks and they're only allowing drop-off and pick up for repairing grips. Dropped it off Monday after work and was told it would be done Wednesday. I didn't mind because Kellan said there was a lot of orders and reading all the reviews I knew it would be done right. Got called today (Tuesday) saying it's was ready. Was able to leave work early so it worked out. Love the work that was done and at a good price. I needed to get my putter shortened and re-gripped, so I decided to give this place a try. I was there at 9:00 but they hadn't opened yet. I waited till 9:15 and was about to leave when the owner showed up. It was worth the wait. He let me in the store to look around while he got settled then showed me the different options they have for putter grips. By 9:30, I was on the road with my shortened, newly-gripped putter for $15.71. I expected to pay more, but he didn't charge me to cut two inches off the shaft. I'm very pleased and would definitely go back for future club repairs. read more

I was scheduled for an afternoon fitting to make adjustments to a new set of clubs that were ordered from the manufacturer. originally the clubs were custom fitted and ordered, but the clubs did not meet my previous yardage and needed some adjustments to the lie and loft. showed up at the appointment time and the apt. was not scheduled in, after confirming the time. come to find out and was not notified they could not adjust left handed clubs- an important bit of information that was left out. also the fitter was not present on site to the fitting. they told me to come back the following day to be fitted by Kellen.when i called to confirm the following day, i was told he was participating at the Mid-Pac tournament. and I was still not scheduled to be fitted the following day even though there was a verbal agreement from the prior day ( in person at the shop). this place was recommended by a friend as great place and professional. I would disagree, Kellen never reached out for an explanation of the disorder he caused. read more

Small spot but this guy know what he's doing! I bought some P790s with the dynamic gold X100 130g shafts and I couldn't keep a ball on the green to save my life. He installed the new True Temper Elevate shafts and I'm getting way mor distance and hitting greens in regulation. Lessons are super cheap and he's super easy going. I sliced my driver a lot and he pointed out it was all in my setup and take away.. simple stuff. Extended my back swing and I'm playing a lot better golf. See this guy if you have equipment issues, club repairs, or lessons. read more
