Kellen got back to me quickly and the cost for regripping was reasonable. I went around opening and he was able to regrip them for me right there (vs waiting a few days). Super easy process and I thought he was friendly and helpful, as I know nothing about golf or how to pick a new grip. Definitely recommend going to them again!

It moved in 1991 to Pearl City. Not just Pearl City but Pearl City Industrial Park, which is past Pearl City. When you drive up you'll probably miss it, especially if you go now since they are doing major road construction to install some crazy stuff under the roads. The building itself is a warehouse and doesn't look like much but don't let the outside deter you because once inside you will find the largest selection of bowling balls, bags, shoes, and accessories that didn't even exist 30 years ago, plus cue/billiard supplies. Oh and a full service shop (drill/ repairs etc) Sanford was the guy who helped me get new shoes and a bag and redrill my old ball since I have fat fingers now. He is super knowledgeable and knows his stuff from decades of experience. Although there are a few other pro shops closer to me, I'd drive the extra distance to come back here.

I mean, something bad always happens and my usually somewhat reliable swing just falls apart at the wrong times!!!!! If it's not a hook at the wrong places or a perfect drive, perfect layup and a great iron to the par 5 green - which ends in a big 3 putt!!!!!! I cannot handle the first par 3. Over the years, I layup and go into the ravine, or into a bunker or short and pitch lousy and 3 putt. Or on the 11th hole my GPS says 70 yards to the ravine for layup - I find out it's wrong - more like 30. I go into the ravine/water. Next hole par 3, hit left short, pitch too high, 3 putt argggggh But I continue to go back hoping one day I may play like the person I am on other courses (except Kapolei and New Ewa). Some courses just have my number. Very sad but beautiful course!!!!

However, in the last couple years this course has gone down hill. The driving range mats desperately need changing out, a lot of them are worn down to the rubber underneath. The rakes near the sand traps are missing handles and the fiberglass is splintered. I will say the grass was great and the greens were really fast but I was still very disappointed in how all the other facilities are used compared to a couple years ago. The food in the restaurant isn't as good as other golf places near by either. The service is outstanding but the food is small in portion and honestly not seasoned well. The bathrooms are very nice though, the staff is awesome, and the amount of rain they have had to make the fairways and greens nice which is what keeps this place going in my opinion. I want it to be so much better! I live close by and this was my home course but am thinking about changing to another course due to Waikele's lack of care for the driving range, sand rakes, and food.

The course has a relaxed, local vibe with a layout that's both forgiving and enjoyable. It was clear how popular this course is with the community. The tee boxes were busy, but even with the crowd, play moved along smoothly throughout the day, making for an enjoyable round. What also stood out was how green and well-kept the course looked. Compared to Ala Wai, which tends to show more wear, Ted Makalena was a pleasant surprise with its condition. It made the experience that much better and left me wondering why it took me so long to finally play here.

No Hello Kitty shoes…read more.. But a lot of deals throughout the store and I was quite impressed. Located in Waikele Premium Outlets in Waipahu Adidas Outlet is actually a favorite of mom's and as I took her to various errands I knew that shopping here would be something she didn't know she wanted lol! She's the type that rarely walks into a store and I need to encourage to do so and this again was no different and we were quite surprised to see many items were marked 50% off and she found a simple shirt that she loved for $10 and as she tried it on I noticed a tote that was very nice (she loves bags just as much as I do) and showed it to her and POOF! she bought it lol! So excited of her new bag she used it for the rest of the day and this simple bliss that makes us smile is what's retail therapy all about. Checking out the staff is just so amazing and kind always helping us find the best deal and is why I just love shopping here whenever I'm at Waikele. Thank you!
