Since I recently moved to New York from LA, I've been searching for a OBGYN, and thought I found…read morethe perfect match with the office of Dr. Goncharov. Unfortunately, due to their poor receptionists they lost a potential patient because of careless mistakes. I called on this past Monday to inquire if they were accepting new clients and accepted my new New York insurance. Wanita, who I spoke to said Dr. Goncharov did not, and I could see one of the nurses Marina instead who is in the office on Fridays in Manhattan. She scheduled me in for the same week on Friday. She needed to validate my insurance number (which I did not have at the time), and asked me to call back the next day. The following day, I called the office with the information and a different woman I spoke to had no idea who I was and had no idea about my appointment on Friday. First red flag. So I rebooked the appointment for the same time, and confirmed that they accepted the insurance. She said yes. This morning (Friday) hours before my appointment, I receive a phone call from Wanita asking for my insurance phone number because she has never seen the insurance before and was not sure if they accepted it after both of them confirmed they did. Is it that difficult to perform a Google search to contact them? Once again, I did not have the card on me and had to call her back with the telephone number, and wait for her to call me back 2 hours before the appointment to confirm if I could even go there. She said that Marina only took it (yes, we already established this and thats why the appointment was with her), but she wouldn't be in the office today. WTF? I had to cancel all of the arrangements I made to come into the office after I had already took the afternoon off of work to come in. Oh, and it gets worse. Wanita said that Marina is sometimes in the office on Fridays, but really had no idea if she would be there the following week or any future Friday in fact. It is a yes or no question after you look at the doctor's calendar. Seriously? Red flag after red flag, I finally said "I'll go somewhere else". It shouldn't take six phone calls to schedule an appointment. If they can't do that right, I'm not really sure if I'd want to trust them with my billing or body.

What can I say? My experience with Dr Goncharov has been great. I found Dr Goncharov on yelp and…read moredidn't regret it. My first visit, didn't wait long, staff was very courteous and accommodating. I met with Dr Goncharov, didn't know wht to expect but was not disappointed. He informed me of what the next step would be and was pretty thorough with my medical background as I was high risk. They really accommodated me. He and his staff are very caring and it made for a less stressful pregnancy. You can almost always get him to talk to if you have concerns. He delivered my baby April 26 c section. We delivered a healthy beautiful baby boy. While in the hospital, he was there every step of the way. Thank you so much for being so attentive to my concerns and needs.

I wish I never stepped foot into this practice. I chose them for my pregnancy care and it was a…read moreterrible decision. My first annual visit was so pleasant I was excited to receive care here but once I became pregnant the problems started to arise. I did not receive a pregnancy packet of information for a healthy pregnancy or the REQUIRED discussion with their nurse until my 20 week appointment. I was asked if my morning sickness continuing into 20 weeks was a "me problem" I did not receive information meant to be distributed at 28 weeks, until 32 weeks Their website was 10 years outdated and had incorrect information about birth practices at Phelps hospital, when I found this out I tried to contact them to get answers and was pacified being told they would "get to the bottom of this and make sure to get you answers" instead I was scheduled with a new midwife who when I asked about this, I was told she had no idea and didn't know any of the hospital practices. It then took additional weeks for them to not correct their website, but completely remove it. When I continued to bring up my concerns over lack of information on hospital policy I was told I should look into home birth options (it was too late in my pregnancy to find a home birth midwife who was accepting new clients with my due date). I never ended up meeting all the midwives before my delivery I went to the hospital for prodromal labour and was told I should stay since "they were going to induce me tomorrow anyway" but I was never informed of this previously. I opted to leave and was informed by a nurse I needed to sign an AMA that I was choosing to leave. I asked the midwife on call if this was true and she said she did not know the hospital policy. I was constantly being hounded to schedule an induction despite multiple refusals and a MFM doctor telling me my placenta looked healthy and he had no concerns about me waiting until 41+4 to induce. When I did go into labour (not induced) I was terrified to find out that the midwife who I felt completely uncomfortable with due to multiple negative appointments was on call. I told myself I just had to wait 12 hours and a new midwife would be on- nope! Kathy Herron was on call for 24 hours and made my labour so uncomfortable. She was rude, hostile and honestly traumatizing. She laughed at me while I tried to work through labour pain and was having a difficult time. She continually asked me to break my waters which I constantly refused then they "just broke in her hands". I fully believe she broke my water without my consent even though I made it clear that was NOT what I wanted. When it was time to push, I told her I needed a moment to prepare myself mentally and she said "most women would be happy right now". She wanted me to give birth how she wanted and when she wanted. I wish I could give my experience 0 stars and am genuinely afraid for other women to have this same experience.

I felt at ease and prepared for my delivery . This is my third baby. I've delivered with both an OB and another Midwife practice. This has been my best experience, not to mention my best recovery, definitely because of how my delivery went. It was not easy to find a midwife practice in westChester but I'm glad I landed here and found a practice that aligned with my vision. From wait time, insurance, prenatal and post natal visits, I could not ask for more.

I was told there was 1 person before me and she wasn't sure how long everything would take. I waited another 45 mins and was finally taken for vitals. While in the room the staff did my weight and blood pressure while asking questions that were already answered on the form. I answered them anyway. She then began taking out the supplies to draw blood. The single glove was the last thing to be taken out. She wrote on the vials and urine cup, needles, alcohol pads, etc all without putting on the single glove. She flicked her hair with her bare hands then took the alcohol pad out and laid it to the side. Sprayed the tie with hand sanitizer spray again in her bare hands. I told her to start again but this time with gloves on both hands. She got up and left. Thr doctor came in and asked what was the problem. I told him what occurred. He asked who referred me and why I was there. I told him my gyn referred me. He asked who my primary doctor was. I told him. He said I had an attitude since I got there and I had to leave. I left without an issue. I was waiting outside in the cold for my access a ride I had to reschedule due to the long visit wait. I was upset and a patient going in asked what was wrong. I told him with tears in my eyes. He said Dr. Diggs did the same thing to his sister. I would never go here if it was the last place on God's green earth. The staff was rude, unprofessional and I wouldn't recommend for a rat to go to this facility.
