They advertise as a psychiatrist. Called here in an emergency. Just a primary care doctor.

Dr Fritz took care of all my medical needs. His staff was friendly and all paperwork was completed when they said it would be.

Dr. Lukin matched them after a very thorough and thoughtful intake phone call with me, and he couldn't have chosen a better therapist for my daughter. Kelsey is responsive, patient, straightforward, and caring, and my daughter has made truly meaningful progress during their time working together. Kelsey also periodically checks in with my husband and me to hear our thoughts and concerns and to share her insights in a way that respects our daughter's privacy. We highly recommend the Lukin Center and Kelsey.

One of my favorite things about Lukin Center is how much they value individual clients and make sure that every part of the experience is a positive one. I've always felt respected, cared for, and invited into a collaborative treatment process. That culture is consistent for each staff person I've interacted with. The Jersey City location is an actual hidden gem. It's smack in the middle of downtown JC, but the entrance is super discreet. It's warm and homey inside with comfy furniture and plenty of privacy. Lukin Center has managed a seamless transition to virtual therapy through COVID, but I'm looking forward to getting back downtown when it's safe to do so :)

There are a few practices here, but I'm focusing this review on Dr. Kurani and the front office staff only. First off, if you think you'll find parking, think again (that has nothing to do with stars in reality but just a heads up). Secondly, the staff here is just downright rude and indifferent. In the office there are this plaques that show what a wonderful practice you're about to be a part of, or lucky enough to have an appointment with. Well, I should have tore them all down on my stormy way out because this place just isn't at all excellent. The Dr. hardly listened to me when I was going over my past even though he's the one asking the questions - usually when you ask a question it's because you'd like to hear an answer. Maybe mine weren't exciting enough but either way, I had to repeat myself a few times since he kept making errors when he tried to re-hash my answers. He couldn't seem more disinterested which is a shame, because with so many awards, I guess they give them out to just about anybody. The staff is a whole part on it's own in terms of disregard and harsh attitudes. While I was waiting to leave and bitterly set up another appointment for a month later, this woman was on the phone with a patient I presume, and giving her tons of attitude because of scheduling conflicts - sorry lady, sometimes people have lives outside of making appointments with your crabby self!!! After she hangs up with her she is mumbling how it's not her fault she couldn't help as she is slamming down papers and files with no real rhyme of reason. (In fact, one of those files was mine, which she later had to look for as she realized I was waiting) She doesn't say hello ever, not when I first walked in and not this time either, all she says is "A month later?" I look around even though I know she's addressing me, but hoping to drive a point home (it didn't). I tell her yes, a month later, and that it has to be a monday...silence..."the 10th? 3:15?". I tell her it's fine and then she says I have a twenty dollar co-pay. I was told prior to my appt that it was free as they ran my insurance before I got there. But due to the line behind me and this lady's terrible attitude and the god-awful doctor I just spent 45 minutes with, I just wanted out. So I handed her my card-"Cash only!" and she points to (I'll admit obvious) a sign. Okay well I only have a card so I'm told, with (no surprise here) attitude to go across the street where there is an ATM. So as I'm walking I'm thinking to myself how much I hate that place, and I should just not go back and not pay the 20, but alas, I pay the 1.75 charge for a 20 they don't deserve. I make up my mind to at least ask about the free co-pay I was told about. Well that turns into an argument since she doesn't want to call the insurance company. It ends with her throwing my 20 back at me and me saying "You know, you have a lovely way of dealing with people. You're pathetic." Needless to say, I'm canceling my next appointment and I hope no one puts up with their crap. There's no need to treat people as if they're inferior or have already done something wrong. If you really hate your job that much, you should just quit. Every one has bad days, but nevertheless most of us suck it up and deal, but no one should have to deal with the staff or lazy doctor here.

I asked if they could fax a prescription to my prescription provider,no they don't deal with those. You need to change your appointment? Good luck! Your doctor is not available? Well try seeing another doctor in their practice, they will give you a hard time plus no one is allowed to make any decisions except for the one boss lady who you are trying to avoid in the first place. They make the whole experience so unpleasant that I am looking for a different practice.
