I hate to see that horrible review come up every time I search for Dr. Zhai's phone number on…read moregoogle because it's so inaccurate I'm pretty sure they got doctor's offices confused. I love Dr. Zhai and have referred family and friends to her. I was in serious pain for years and went to more than 10 different doctors in that time. As a young person with back problems I experienced a lot of skepticism and refusal to take pain seriously. I've been seeing her for a little over a year now and I am pain-free, without narcotics, which was once impossible. Dr. Zhai is always accessible, always polite and honest. I don't understand why someone would say they are cursing all the time unless that reviewer is Chinese because the staff does speak Chinese to each other sometimes mostly because the woman at the counter has some trouble with english. I'm pretty sure she's someone's grandma and although sometimes she gets confused, I've definitely never seen her lose it and throw around the Chinese equivalent of f-bombs. The medical assistant is like the sweetest woman you've ever met and Dr. Zhai is like the cool older sister. The office is clean and has a keurig with coffee and hot chocolate. Besides the fact that Dr. Zhai is awesome and helped me with a myriad of issues I was having, her recommendations are just as great. I won't even go to a specialist anymore unless Dr. Zhai has referred me. Just sayin'.

When you need referrals she personally calls the specialists' office to let them know a patient of hers will be coming over. She helps you get appointments with specialists a lot quicker than you'd be able to by yourself. She is affiliated with Mt. Sinai hospital. Consult is normally $75 or so w/o insurance and she will give you med samples if she has them so you don't have to purchase. Sometimes they can see you same day if its urgent and you're not a first time patient. Very few drs take the time to listen to your concerns...

She was great with our newly diagnosed Asthmatic 3 -year-old. The only downfall was the wait. We were new patients, appointment was for 2:30 and we were not seen until 6:30, left the office at 7. Also she's only in the office on Mon,Weds,Fri from 1-7. It was a little discouraging and if the MD and MA weren't so nice we definitely would have just walked out. Next time I'll just have to make an appointment for the very 1st one of the day.

Both experiences are pleasant and what I expect a doctors office is. Not too much small talk but just enough you sorta feel like you know them a while.

The front desk staff is horrible, I think they're highschool girls or women who are close in retiring because the lack of knowledge is very telling. They don't communicate with each other which is why they never have accurate information for the patients. I've been calling for two months and today one nurse foolishly confirmed that the front desk hasn't been putting in any notes for pcp Mannam to return my calls in regard to come cardiovascular equipment! She thought she was doing something by explaining she sees two notes in my account, but where are the others that the front desk staff claimed to have put on my account? Exactly, because these incels aren't doing their job. I literally stop breathing in my sleep and I'm waiting till today for the stuff I need to help me. Does this sound like a place you would want to come to? They'll try to blame your health insurance as well, I've already contacted them and they've done their job. This is all an issue with Mannam Medicial at 1170 castle hill Bronx NY. I wouldn't recommend this place to a rat and I won't recommend the front desk staff of Mannam to a new job either. Terrible all around.

I needed a doctor around my home to be my PCP. I'd been traveling between boroughs for years, but…read moreduring COVID, my old PCP refused to open his doors and would turn away patients, having his receptionists tell us to go to urgent care, no matter what the issue. I just needed a physical, but was turned away. It was then that I finally made the leap to a new doctor (long overdue). I found Dr. Mannam's office and was happy to report that this far, he is a doctor that follows up with my care and is generally kind and provides prompt feedback regarding my health. He ends every visit with a hug (not in a creepy way), and it is refreshing given that my other doctor was so impersonal. At Dr. Mannam's, you feel cared for. Sometimes the reception desk gets overcrowded and it could take a while to be acknowledged, but I just wait patiently, sign in and then approach when someone is free. When I have an appointment, I'm glad to say that I haven't had to wait longer than 15-20 minutes to be seen. Other offices I've been to, I've had to wait 1-2 hours even WITH an appointment! Without an appointment, I've waited up to two hours as this office is popular in the neighborhood. Hope this review helps. Even with the risk of overcrowding his office, I would recommend Dr. Mannam.

But people automatically assume because they don't speak english well, are a small clinic , have older equipment, and their front desk staff could have better phone etiquette that these women aren't the bomb. I just want to say the doctor and her people are totally worth it. Best physician I've ever had. I will put up with everything because she listens and know what I'm talking about. So pros: extremely knowledgeable doctor, quick, who speaks multiple languages, open on Sunday's, fast lab results 3 days to a week, appointment availability, and listens to you. Cons: older equipments, no online system to see appointments/results/history, front desk staff may seem rude, waiting room is packed often, and sometimes mishearing each other.
