I wish I never stepped foot into this practice. I chose them for my pregnancy care and it was a terrible decision. My first annual visit was so pleasant I was excited to receive care here but once I became pregnant the problems started to arise. I did not receive a pregnancy packet of information for a healthy pregnancy or the REQUIRED discussion with their nurse until my 20 week appointment. I was asked if my morning sickness continuing into 20 weeks was a "me problem" I did not receive information meant to be distributed at 28 weeks, until 32 weeks Their website was 10 years outdated and had incorrect information about birth practices at Phelps hospital, when I found this out I tried to contact them to get answers and was pacified being told they would "get to the bottom of this and make sure to get you answers" instead I was scheduled with a new midwife who when I asked about this, I was told she had no idea and didn't know any of the hospital practices. It then took additional weeks for them to not correct their website, but completely remove it. When I continued to bring up my concerns over lack of information on hospital policy I was told I should look into home birth options (it was too late in my pregnancy to find a home birth midwife who was accepting new clients with my due date). I never ended up meeting all the midwives before my delivery I went to the hospital for prodromal labour and was told I should stay since "they were going to induce me tomorrow anyway" but I was never informed of this previously. I opted to leave and was informed by a nurse I needed to sign an AMA that I was choosing to leave. I asked the midwife on call if this was true and she said she did not know the hospital policy. I was constantly being hounded to schedule an induction despite multiple refusals and a MFM doctor telling me my placenta looked healthy and he had no concerns about me waiting until 41+4 to induce. When I did go into labour (not induced) I was terrified to find out that the midwife who I felt completely uncomfortable with due to multiple negative appointments was on call. I told myself I just had to wait 12 hours and a new midwife would be on- nope! Kathy Herron was on call for 24 hours and made my labour so uncomfortable. She was rude, hostile and honestly traumatizing. She laughed at me while I tried to work through labour pain and was having a difficult time. She continually asked me to break my waters which I constantly refused then they "just broke in her hands". I fully believe she broke my water without my consent even though I made it clear that was NOT what I wanted. When it was time to push, I told her I needed a moment to prepare myself mentally and she said "most women would be happy right now". She wanted me to give birth how she wanted and when she wanted. I wish I could give my experience 0 stars and am genuinely afraid for other women to have this same experience. read more

I would highly Recommend based on my experience through my pregnancy, delivery and post partum. From the very beginning and at every appointment they took the time to answer questions, give guidance and leave time for discussion . I felt at ease and prepared for my delivery . This is my third baby. I've delivered with both an OB and another Midwife practice. This has been my best experience, not to mention my best recovery, definitely because of how my delivery went. It was not easy to find a midwife practice in westChester but I'm glad I landed here and found a practice that aligned with my vision. Run don't walk away from this practice. I have been a patient of Dr. Serena DiStefano for decades and have always had the best of care as she is an excellent doctor. However she was booked and I was given an appointment at the other location in Harrison this past Wednesday. I saw one of their Midwives and a prescription was called in. It never got to my pharmacy. I call again a total of 3 times until they closed for the day, but my pharmacy still had nothing. It took the on call PM staff (after3 more calls) to get my RX called in by 8:30pm. I called Friday to get my test results around 10:30am, but was told that they were not back and to call later in the afternoon. I called around 4pm and the staff told me that they came in yesterday and chastised me for calling so late in the day. I was told they did not think anyone could give me my results this late but they would put a message through. I called again but they has closed and the service had the on call Dr call me. He had no access to any of my records or test results but was happy to call in a medication with no test results, no access to my medical history and no diagnosis. I declined. So now I will have to wait until Monday if they even get back to me then when I could have had my test results on Thursday. I find this to be extremely irresponsible that a patient is not called back with the test results and a person is being delayed treatment. I will never go back there again. I am being kind by not naming the midwife, however the office staff does not impress me as they could not even give me accurate information or call in a prescription. Best birthing experience ever! This review is way overdue but I have to give credit to this midwifery for the tremendous support I received during my first childbirth. I wanted a natural birth from the beginning and our midwife went above and beyond to ensure I had one. From rubbing arnica oil, to placing hot towels on my lower back, to coaching my husband and I through different labor positions, she never gave up. I am so grateful for this wonderful team and if I am blessed with a second pregnancy they will definitely be my go to. read more

I transferred to Full Circle from a one size fits all doctors group that had me feeling very nervous about childbirth, to find more personal and holistic prenatal care. I cannot recommend the Full Circle Midwives enough. Full Circle was a breath of fresh air from the very start. The midwives, nurses, and office staff were all very friendly and helpful. My first appointment with the midwives they discussed what kind of birth I hoped to have, something unheard of at the Ob/gyn practice I was visiting. The midwives were so knowledgable, and actually got to know me (which made me feel a lot better about delivery day), never rushed visits, and always took time to answer all of my questions and were easy to get in touch with any concerns that came up. Robin was wonderful. She was there throughout my whole labor and delivery, which went late into the night. Both Michelle and Robin visited me during my days recovering in the hospital and helped with breastfeeding and answering new mom questions. Between the lactation consultants at Phelps Hospital and the support I received at Full Circle, I felt like I had so much breastfeeding support their was no way I could fail. Full Circle offers lots of other services besides just midwifery care, such as top notch classes (I highly recommend the yoga for labor class, as it was a life saver trying to do an unmedicated birth), lactation consulting (Regina the Lactation Consultant was super helpful after leaving the hospital and having breastfeeding questions), new mom support groups, Mommy & Baby yoga, and tons of other groups and services as well. They really support women both before, during, and after pregnancy. If/when we have another baby we will definitely return to Full Circle. read more

I can't say enough good things about Full Circle. All of the midwives were wonderful and supportive, and they're always willing to take the extra time to talk to you about anything you might be concerned about. Michelle helped me through a tough labor and postpartum complications, giving me all of the care I needed. It's also great to have all of the other related services that you might want or need right there in the same location, and the front office staff are always friendly, handling the myriad services like the pros they are. I've availed myself of the physical therapist, lactation consultant, prenatal and mommy and me yoga, birth classes, new mom's group, and music class... and believe it or not, they even have other services on site that I haven't tried. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend anyone at Full Circle, and would definitely go back if I had a second child. read more

I became a patient at Full Circle because I wanted a more holistic approach to my care and because I wanted to see if they are a good fit before I start to try to get pregnant. I felt the midwives at Full Circle are very thorough, caring, and really go above and beyond in solving problems and educating patients. They were very thorough in their bloodwork/screening/primary care. In addition to the usual breast exam, pelvic exam, Pap smear and cultures, they did a CBC, chem panel, hormone levels, and vitamin D screening (I found out I'm actually really deficient). You can opt to view test results online through Patient Fusion. Also, they take your history in a little room that feels like a living room before you get undressed for the exam. I though this was a very nice touch. Unlike the reviewer below, I actually did not have a problem with the front desk staff. They are polite and competent. I can understand how you might want a warmer greeting in this type of practice, but it's not something I expect in a doctor/nurse's office. read more

If you are at all "different" BEWARE. As a woman in the LGBTQ+ community going to a new doctor is always an unknown situation, but add being plus size on top of that and it's pretty nerve wracking. I was newly pregnant after months of fertility treatments where my wife and I were treated wonderfully. Walking into "Love is Love" signs in the lobby my wife and I were more at ease, but unfortunately not everyone on their staff is tolerant. Midwife Herron came in the room, looked at me, and then my wife, and said, so who is this. When I said this is my wife, she gave a look as if she was not pleased by this. I brushed it off, but felt a bit uncomfortable. The appointment proceeded to go downhill due to my size and the midwife lectured me for half an hour about why she could not take me as a patient and why the hospital (Phelps) would likely not take me either due to my BMI (even though it is under the hospital cut off which she mentioned). Okay, fine, I'll find another doctor. The piece that feels the most homophobic perhaps happened later that day when I received an update to my Northwell file and under the "History of Present Illness" the midwife entered "Female Partner". How is this an illness? If you are not a mainstream heterosexual patient think about going elsewhere. read more

My experience with Full Circle and Phelps was so positive that I cannot wait to have more children just so that I can work with them again!! From the very first call with Lisa, to figuring out the insurance kinks with Wendy, to the conversations about testing with Judy, to the first introductory appointment with Robin, to the following prenatal appointments with Robin and Michelle, to the final days of prenatal massage with Suzu, and finally the delivery with Michelle, I cannot recommend their services enough. My husband and I always felt listened to, cared for, and like we were a part of the Full Circle family. Even the robes that you occasionally have to wear are made from floral fabrics used in a wedding from the office. The whole experience really feels like what prenatal and postpartum care should be. They were always so quick to answer questions on the patient portal, and would even follow up with calls if the questions felt better-answered with a friendly voice. This child was our first, and I we honestly cannot imagine another experience than the one we had with Full Circle. Michelle delivered our baby, and she did so with such care, calmness, and patience. The labor was a sacred space, and all of our decisions were made with the trust of Michelle and her warm advice. We always felt that she was an advocate for me and my best interest. She made recommendations based on the safety of myself and my child, and we never felt rushed or pushed to make decisions. ((The nurses at Phelps were also incredible---the hospital isn't your state-of-the-art, cold and modern space, but we loved that. It felt comforting and safe, the laboring rooms were warm and welcoming, and the nurses felt like aunts or mothers to us.)) I was happy to find out that I can continue to see the midwives at Full Circle for my OBGYN needs moving forward, and then come back to them for future children. I switched over from my OB at westmed after feeling rushed, judged & receiving one size fits all treatment. My dr was not interested in having conversations about holistic care & that probably wouldn't have changed for delivery. My doula suggested full circle & they really worked with me from day 1 when I called to see if they accepted my insurance (Which they didn't but worked with me on alternate options for insurance coverage). The owner also called me the same day and spent about a half an hour on the phone with me, working through my preferences questions and concerns. The choice became clear & I couldn't be happier with my care. A midwife calls you back with their on call service regarding any questions or concerns. Michelle caught two different abnormalities that my OB missed & was able to offer treatment options. What a difference from the lazy, standard "it's normal" response I'd get from my OB. I feel my care is thorough and informed. Robin the other midwife is confident & nurturing. I'm very very happy here + they have many other services that support your care holistically. I became a patient when I was 14 weeks pregnant back in November 2013 and it was one of the best decisions I made for my pregnancy. The midwifery care is excellent. They really care about their patients. I never felt like i was rushed during a visit and I always knew that every recommendation made was for the benefit of me and my baby. The front desk staff is great and I never waited longer than 20 minutes to see a midwife. I think I only waited 20 minutes one time. All other times, i was in within 5 minutes. I recommend Full Circle to all women who want to received genuine care. I also like that full circle offers a holistic approach to care. While I was pregnant, I also took part in the prenatal yoga classes, I scheduled a few acupuncture sessions, my husband gave me a gift certificate for a wonderful massage with Suzu and once I had the baby, I took advantage of the lactation consultant, Regina. I am currently taking the infant massage class with my 2- month old and love it. Finally, one of the most touching and unique aspects of the practice is the gift I received during my PP visit. I am and was absolutely thrilled with the pre-natal, birth, and post-natal care I received at Full Circle. This was my first birth and I was in labor for nearly 30 hours, mostly at Phelps Memorial Hospital. Michelle was on-call that day and she was incredible. Super-present, compassionate, decisive, supportive, empowering and professional. After checking me out at the hospital, she said she was "going to get some sleep," which scared me (what if the baby came?). I had my doula and husband with me but I still got panic-y. Thankfully, she is a PRO and knew that it would be a LONG night. If she hadn't napped during my early labor, she would not have been so amazing when I actually needed her, several hours later. I had an indescribable birthing experience - beautiful and hard and sacred and empowering. Michelle was critical in so many ways, from helping me find more comfortable birthing positions to offering breathing techniques. She was so HUMAN. Yes, a professional midwife but so warm and kind and real. I can't believe she does this every day. I also appreciated how non-judgmental Michelle and the other midwives are. In the end, I didn't use any drugs during my labor. But felt 100% empowered to make any decision regarding pain meds/epidural/drugs that made sense for me. No pressure, no judgement. My prenatal and postnatal visits were also fantastic. Clean, warm, well-designed, welcoming office, easy to schedule appts, accessible billing dept. They have great pregnancy/nursing/yoga/etc. classes and products (vitamins, etc) available. During one of my prenatal exams, Robin noticed that my belly hadn't grown quite as much as expected. She referred me to a specialist for closer look (in the end, all was fine, I just carry low). She could have delivered that news in a slightly more comforting way (perhaps: "I want to take a closer look just in case but generally, you look great, baby looks great and this will help us feel totally confident") but that was my one tiny complaint over many months of appts. If I still lived in New York, I'd return to Full Circle for every one of my births. I trust and feel safe and empowered with these phenomenal midwives. read more

Robin delivered my baby 2 months ago at Phelps. She really helped guide me through my labor. At one point I was so weak and tired and asked for drugs and Robin suggested that I get in the tub instead. She knew I wanted a natural birth and because of her coaching, I had a drug free birth! I'm sure other hospitals/Doctors would order you the epidural the minute you ask, but not the midwives. The team of nurses at Phelps were also amazing. I had an amazing birth experience and I have the midwives and Phelps to thank for that! Regina, the lactation consultant calls you at home to make sure your breastfeeding is working out the following week after birth. I am so happy with my care that I am going to continue using them for my annual visits. I would 100% use Full Circle for my next child. Every aspect of my care from prenatal, labor and delivery, and post partum/breastfeeding was so much more than I could have imagined. At every step I felt like I was in the best hands. Robyn and Michelle made me feel at ease about my pregnancy, confident as my due date approached, and nurtured as my child was born and the whirlwind of new motherhood began. I was impressed with the whole staff. I spent over half an hour on the phone with their founder before I met with a midwife and she provided me with information about choosing between a midwife or an OB. The receptionists were always friendly. Susan in the billing department worked with me on several different occasions to assist me in getting an approval from my insurance company for midwifery care. Even the massage therapist was extremely knowledgable and wonderful. I took a yoga class while pregnant and a childbirth education class, both of which were taught by encouraging and knowledgable instructors who left me feeling empowered and more confident about birthing my child. And the midwives, I can't say enough good things about them. My labor was long, and I'm certain that had I given birth with an OB I would have delivered via C-section about halfway through my labor. I came to full circle for my best shot at a vaginal delivery, and they delivered! Michelle was with me at the hospital all day and at no point did she even hint at the idea of a c-section. I never felt rushed or that she was losing her patience. She encouraged me, massaged me, and when the time was right- coached me. I couldn't have imagined a more perfect person to have helping me bring my baby into the world. After our baby was born my husband admitted that at first he was skeptical about switching to a midwife. But when he saw Michelle in action he gained a whole new respect for the experience of childbirth and knew in that moment why I wanted a midwife instead of a doctor. These women are fantastic, and have covered all the bases for women's health. I highly recommend this practice if you are looking for a warm, nurturing, whole-picture approach to your pregnancy and childbirth experience. read more

One only has a few babies in their life, and I am so glad that I had one of my babies through the midwives at Full Circle. My first daughter was born at Mt Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA under the care of some wonderful midwives. When I moved to NY I was first connected with an OB and when I became pregnant decided I needed to try Full Circle. My expectations were far surpassed even at my first visit. The consistency at Full Circle was amazing. The secretaries, Lab tec, nurses; everyone was always the same. Even if they didn't know me well, they made me feel like they did. I worked both with Robin and Michelle during my pregnancy and had Michelle present at my birth. My birth really was something. It was a bit out of hand b/c it progressed so quickly. But Michelle walked in like the little yogi she is and helped me listen to my body and guided me though my birth. And she genuinely seemed to enjoy sharing that moment with me and my husband. Also I want to add that they have a lot of other practitioners: massage, yoga, psych, nutrition, etc. I have done massage with suzu and yoga with beth. They are both just wonderful people and so skilled at what they do. I really love full circle and I am also going to continue to see them for my annual visits now. read more

Absolutely sickening level of concern or attention to details of your needs or wants when it matters. There are enough midwives in the area this should not be on you list to consider. It seems the inadequate skills they provide only go so far. In the hospital the subpar care attentiveness will leave you feeling left out and in the dark. While not only is there a disconnect in skills and properly addressing questions you have asked, the patient relationship is atrocious. DO NOT for one minute think your needs concerns or wants will matter in the end. They will be making choices for you whether it is medically necessary or not. Put your wife and unborn child's needs first , you can do this by looking for other midwives. read more

I want to start the review by saying that I am a very particular person. I have worked in the medical profession for a number of years and have always wanted to have children so I was very picky when selecting the team that was going to deliver my child. I absolutely love, trust and respect all of the midwives at full circle. Each of them have a different personality and bring something special and unique to your birthing experience. The midwives are extremely smart and careful during your pregnancy so that you and your child are taken care of while at the same time allowing you to be a human that has flaws and doubts and insecurities. I never felt like a burden or that I was asking too many questions and they made me feel so cared for. Full circle has everything that one might need access to during your pregnancy. There is prenatal yoga with Dee [who also leads a class about changing your relationship to pain - amazing], Regina, the lactation specialist who called me on a Sunday [and many other nights] when I was having difficulty feeding my daughter, Jaesun Yoo, the acupuncturist who supported me in getting pregnant and dealing with my nausea during pregnancy. They also have all sorts of supplements that you may want so you don't have to make an extra trip. I am a first time mother. My husband and I talk all the time about the fact that we actually had fun in the delivery room. Between the midwives and the staff at Phelps, it made a situation that I have heard so many horror stories about one of the most amazing experiences of my life. My favorite part of full circle is that they fight for your dream. Whether it is natural birth or an epidural, they believe that families should have the experience that they want. They will spend whatever time you need [calls, time during appointments, etc] to make sure that people have the experience that they want. I know that this experience is not the norm because when I tell people about my experience they tell me that they wished that they had half the care that I got at full circle. You are bringing life into this world. It is an experience that you deserve to enjoy...deserve to love...deserve to feel safe during. It is my highest recommendation that every family consider full circle. read more

I was interested in using a midwife for my birthing experience. Full Circle came highly recommended by many people. I originally went for a family planning meeting but was already pregnant! I immediately felt welcomed and comfortable. Appointments were easy to make and they had extended hours which worked very well (my husband was able to attend some). I was always taken within 10 minutes of my appointment time and I was never rushed out during my appointment. All of my questions and concerns were addressed during my pregnancy. My phone calls were always returned within 1/2 hour and I always was at ease after the conversation. No question was ever too small or silly! We discussed my birth plan hopes and other possibilities if events did not go the way I was hoping for. My birth experience was wonderful with the midwives and Phelps. After care was also excellent and I will continue with them for my yearly well woman visits. Everyone in the office is friendly, caring, and truly kind. I've also attended prenatal yoga there (best classes ever), yoga for labor workshop, childbirth classes, used the lactation specialist, and try to make it to mommy and me yoga. I found Full Circle when I was pregnant through their pre-natal yoga classes taught by Beth Gibney. They are amazing classes and helped me feel relaxed, energized, and more connected with my baby. We are doing Mommy & Me yoga with Beth now! While there, I discovered that Full Circle also had a lactation specialist and breastfeeding support groups. Regina Camillieri is an IBCLC (professional lactation consultant) and she helped me turn a painful and discouraging breastfeeding experience into a positive and lovely one that I am so thankful I have with my baby. In just one session, Regina helped turn my experience around by offering advice and hands-on help regarding the latch, different nursing positions, and how to relax myself so that baby could also relax. She has a friendly, down-to-earth, caring attitude that allows the patient to trust her and receive her astute help. Regina was able to see the me day after I got out of the hospital and again later that week to make sure we were progressing. I also received a follow-up phone call a couple weeks later to check in and see if I had any further questions. I've been able to follow up with her by email as well, and she always responds in a timely, helpful, and professional manner. read more

RUN!!! This organization is horrible. The midwives are completely incompetent. They maintain a facade of being more caring than traditional OBs and hospital protocol, but they are not. I was being scared into a C-section at 38 weeks. We left the practice and after getting all my medical records reviewed and physically examined by 3 others (an OB, an RN, and a midwife), all concluded induction and C-section was completely unnecessary. Then we went to their home birth practice hoping the finances and medical records under the same roof would make for a smooth transition. After signing all the paperwork (and they increased the fee on us after we signed), buying all the supplies, following every instruction and meeting every request, being led to believe we were moving forward, their home birth midwife bailed out on us THE NIGHT BEFORE MY DUE DATE. Fortunately, we found a new midwife in NJ with a doctorate and 37+ years of experience. She, along with another OB and another home birth midwife from NYC, confirmed that I have no complications to be concerned about. In fact, an OB - chosen by this practice at FC - told us the home birth midwife is "paranoid" and "neurotic." This is not a holistic practice. All of the services offered there are completely separate businesses that only use "Full Circle" for billing purposes. The practitioners do not work together or support each other. One of the two main midwives doesn't even know how to use their own ultrasound equipment. The other one constantly referred to my baby as a "brat." They don't follow up and are overbooked taking on too many clients to call you, though they seem to have no problem contacting you for payment (if you have out-of-network coverage, you have to pay their fees upfront whereas other practitioners deal directly with your insurance and do not charge you thousands of dollars.) And no problem contacting me to get the birthing tub we rented returned to them for another client right after dropping us while I'm in early labor. When we tried reaching them to get reimbursed for their last minute cancellation, we were told the owner was on vacation for a week as we are scrambling trying to find a new practitioner. After thousands of dollars lost, so much time and energy spent arranging for our home birth, purchasing and renting their supplies, and more phone calls, demands, and a tremendous amount of upset, they finally called back but the owner still needs to think about our reimbursement. In the meantime, while I'm in early labor without any resolution regarding our money they have all tied up, they continue contacting me asking for their birthing tub back for another client and asking for my husband's contact information, which they've had from the very beginning. Full Circle Family Care? Women's Health? They seem to care very little about the well being of a pregnant woman and her family than they do about making as much money as possible at the risk of her physical and emotional health. Since our experience with them, I've discovered that I am not the only one who is amazed and concerned that they are still in business. Word around town will eventually catch up with them if it hasn't already. Don't be fooled by how nice they seem. Nice doesn't replace competence especially when you and your baby's health and lives are at stake. read more

I went to Full Circle for pre-natal care for baby #2, and Michelle delivered him at Phelps Hospital in August 2016. While I'm not sure one should chose their healthcare providers based on Yelp reviews, I can explain specifically what I like about Full Circle. First, the midwives seem experienced, competent, thoughtful, and thorough. Based on my own outside research, they seem up to date on the best evidence-based practices, which was important to me. But, they're also extremely kind and never rushed me during an appointment. The entire practice is based on providing holistic care (pre-and post-natal classes are offered on site, and they have a lactation consultant, nutritionist, and massage therapists in house), and this extends to the midwifery care. For example, they regularly asked about my pre-school-aged daughter and gave me tips on how to help her adjust to the new baby. They even invited her to come to appointments and let her listen to the baby's heartbeat (my daughter now likes to play "midwife" at home!) When it came time for delivery, Michelle was fantastic. She was calm and instilled confidence in me and really helped make it as pleasant an experience as it could be - I'm so glad she was part of our baby's birth! The office is also great. The staff got to know me quickly and knew me by sight when I walked in. I never had to wait more than a few minutes for my appointment. And, best of all, the person that does billing is on-site and very responsive to any problems with insurance or payment. In short, I highly recommend Full Circle and their midwifery care. read more

I delivered my second son at Phelps Memorial Hospital with Michelle, one of the midwives here. She and her student were amazing! They were so patient, calm, reassuring, and encouraging throughout my labor. Her and her student coached me how and when to push so I didn't tear at all! They were also very proactive in perineal massage and warm compresses, as well as getting me to change positions to help me cope with the contractions. After delivery, my husband commented that he liked the midwives much better than the OB who delivered my first son. The OB didn't offend us in any way, but he always seemed rushed when coming into the room, didn't spend much time with us until my son was crowning, and didn't coach me through pushing at all. My husband pointed out that the midwife was much more present and not rushed at all. To have my husband say this without any prompting really shows how big of a difference it made to have a midwife versus an OB! And I completely agree with him. If I were staying in the area, I would deliver my future children with this group without hesitation. The other midwives I met at the practice seemed fantastic, as well. They always took time to answer my questions and talk me through things during office visits. And Regina, the lactation consultant, is fantastic. She spent over an hour with me when I saw her just days after delivery. She promptly noticed my son's tongue tie and recommended me to a great ENT in Manhattan to have his frenulectomy. The midwives at full circle are so great. Very personal, knowledgable, and professional. My first pregnancy was supposed to be a home birth but I ended up at the hospital with the full circle midwives (my water broke early and they were my back up plan). Ended up sticking with them for the second pregnancy. Never had a bad experience with any of the four midwives. Michelle delivered my son and was very gentle about offering pitocin late in labor. I never felt pressured into any medical procedures. Their billing department and the rest of their staff are super helpful and I love the yoga instructor at full circle as well. read more

I just had my first baby with Full Circle, delivered by Robin. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with them. I switched from my Manhattan-based OB practice in my 35th week (very scary move) to make the trek to Westchester all the way from Brooklyn to be with a practice who genuinely supported a natural birth. By far one of the best decisions I've made in my life. I will be continuing to make the trek for my regular gynecological care as well; once I've gotten a taste of what kind of medical care I can have, I don't ever want to go back to anything else. From day one, every person in the practice (billing, reception, nurses, etc) all were briefed on my transfer and effortlessly took the transfer off my hands ("you have enough to think about these days") so that it was a painless, seamless transition. The office itself is clean, modern and calm so you feel like you're more in a spa than a medical facility. Everyone greeted me by name as if I had been there for my entire pregnancy. I met with all of the midwives, and they are each so thoughtful and attentive, genuinely taking time with you and making true efforts to get to know you. The style of care is extremely professional, while still feeling warm and nurturing. No more 6 minute visits like I had with my OB, these midwives took their time with me every single appointment. Robin even came to introduce herself while I was waiting for an acupuncture appointment just because she heard I was there and wanted to get to know me. My birth was the most incredible experience of my life, and I have Robin and Phelps to thank for that. I initially went in with a less than ideal prognosis, but Robin patiently walked me through the options and stayed with me the entire time. Unlike a traditional OB who pops in and out of your labor room, Robin was there stroking my arm, saying all the right things to help me get through the pain. She played the role of midwife, doula, mother, friend... She has a nurturing air about her, while still being extremely professional and confident. She "tells it like it is," and the value of her honesty and candor during this experience is not to be underestimated. It is clear Robin has delivered thousands of babies, allowing you to easily surrender to the experience of your labor because you know you are in the best of hands. I can genuinely say I had an AMAZING birth experience, and while it was one of the hardest things I've ever done, I loved it because it was real, it was raw and I was surrounded by an incredibly caring and respectful birth team (nurses at Phelps included - they are incredible!). Full Circle takes the concept of "holistic" to a new level. Yes, they have acupuncturists, massage therapists, lactation counselors, yoga, etc all in one facility, (amazing!) but that is only a small piece of it. Having your child with Full Circle (especially your first), is like having your hand held throughout this incredibly vulnerable life stage. The midwives talk about your health, but they also talk about your personal life - what kind of support system do you have in place for after the baby is born? Are you getting out of the house with your new baby? After the birth, Robin took time to explain not only what I can expect to see with my body and with the baby, but also what to expect emotionally in the coming weeks, and how it might affect my relationship with my partner. Rather than just leave you on your own for 6 weeks post-partum, they see you one week later as well. A lactation consultant calls you to make sure you're doing okay. I learned more about my baby from Robin in one post-partum visit than I have in 6 visits to my pediatrician. You could not possibly feel alone or lost during this time if you're a patient at Full Circle. Basically, Full Circle thinks about every single detail, and it shows. I want to have all of my children with them, and only wish that my other medical care providers gave me half of what they offer. Now I'm on a hunt for a new pediatrician because I now have new standards for my medical care :) read more

After almost 27 weeks of being at an ob/gyn practice that just didn't feel right to us, we made the choice to switch to Full Circle. It was the best decision we made. We went from feeling like a gerbil on a wheel at the ob/gyn's office, just going through the medical motions with no say in the process, to feeling like human beings with a voice and a choice in the birth of our first child. Every midwife we met was honest and trusting making us feel heard and safe. We ended up having the birth that we wanted and it was a natural process rather than a medical one. The resources we received through Full Circle are limitless. Delivering at Phelps Memorial Hospital was like a breath of fresh air. Every person that we encountered was courteous and curious about our needs. It wasn't the typical "flashy-huge- updated" hospital like the others in the area, but we were more interested in quality of service and one that was the most baby friendly. I'll take that any day over any other hospital. It gave our baby and our family exactly what we needed and the rooms were private. No sharing of rooms, no chaos, just very peaceful. The office is clean and the staff are friendly, especially the nurse. It was easy to schedule an appointment (usually one month in advance) and wait times to be seen were minimal. I've decided super late in my first pregnancy to switch to midwife care and I am glad Full Circle accommodated me. On my second pregnancy I had no doubt I wanted the same amazing care. Billing helped with insurance (to get out of network exemption). Midwives listened and patiently answered my questions and concerns. I felt cared for and not just a number in their list of clients. When reached the answering service, all my calls were returned right away. Ladies at front desk are nice and helpful. Nurses are kind and kept me updated with blood work results. This place is amazing! As a first time mom you can imagine how scared and nervous I was throughout my whole pregnancy. I had a pretty rough pregnancy but the midwives were amazing and gave me many tips so I could try to be as comfortable as possible. When it came time for my son to come. The midwife on call was great and very attentive. I was calling in at 1am she was easy to get in touch with and met me at Phelps hospital literally 15 mins after us arriving there. She was great and so easy to discuss my concerns. I had a great labor! I recommend them to EVERYONE. I am definitely going back when we decide to have another child. All the staff try to accommodate you as much as possible with scheduling appointments as well as getting lab results. Full Circle is the place to be!! read more

I did a lot of research on hospitals before trying for my first baby and decided Phelps was the one for me. I loved how much encouragement of mother/baby bonding they gave straight from delivery, how much breastfeeding support there was and the beautiful labor and delivery/recovery rooms were just a bonus (whirlpool tubs in most of the L and D rooms!) So naturally my next step was to find a midwifery who delivered at Phelps since I wanted the most natural prenatal care I could get. I read some of the reviews on yelp for FC and honestly was on the fence but decided to give them a try. At my "meet the midwife" appointment I met with Michelle who asked me why I chose a midwifery. I explained why but did emphasise that I did not want to deliver with out an epidural. Michelle explained that everyone would work to make sure my delivery would go exactly how I wanted it to. My next appointment was with Robin who was very thorough in getting myself and my husband's medical history and also talked to us about the importance of mental and emotional health. She explained that certain feelings we may have throughout the next nine months were normal and made sure we had good ways to cope to keep our relationship strong. From then on I met with all the midwives at full circle including Bevin, Jen and Kristen. Each one amazing. As a person who suffers from anxiety, especially in medical settings, I never once felt anxious or uncomfortable with anyone. I had everyone of my questions answered at every appointment no matter how long it took and everyone always had a smile on their face, including the nurses Ashley and Judy who always took the time to chat with me about life while taking my bp or when I had to have blood drawn. I do believe Judy even shed a tear with me and my husband when she revealed to us that we were having a boy. My delivery was with Jen and Robin and true to what Michelle said it went exactly the way I wanted to. I got my epidural the moment I asked and before that Michelle made sure I was as comfortable as possible (I had a long labor. Michelle was with me for the first half, Jen for the second.) I was completely calm (and so was my husband) and focused from the first push to the last and it was all because of them. After I left the hospital I met with Regina, Full Circle's lactation consultant, who quickly diagnosed my son with a toung tie, told me exactly where to go to get it snipped and had us successfully breast feeding by our next appointment. I just can't say enough good things about everyone there who helped me along my journey. They made what could be a very scary experience (especially when its your first pregnancy) a very happy and comfortable one and I am truly grateful to each one of them. I switched to Full Circle in my second trimester because I really wanted to pursue a natural birth, and Phelps Memorial Hospital and Full Circle Midwives seemed to be the best way to go here in Westchester if you look at stats. I also had a horrible experience at the practice I was at before Full Circle so I was beyond happy with the personalized and holistic care I got here. My appts were always on time and never rushed, and the hours extended beyond the traditional 9-5, so it really worked well with my schedule. The midwives really supported my goal of vaginal and med-free birth and gave me the tools I needed. All of my exams were thoroughly explained to me and also posted on a great portal site where I can review results also, see upcoming appts, billing, etc. Besides all the prenatal care and exams, they also worked with me on nutrition plan, the practice has yoga classes available, breastfeeding classes, etc etc. Overall, it was a very positive experience for me. I gave birth to our baby girl last week and I am so happy to say with all the tools made available to me, I was able to deliver naturally as I had desired and it was the best experience I could have hoped for. Very thankful that Full Circle exists to make pregnancy and birth an enriching experience! I would definitely come here again without a doubt for my next pregnancy. read more
