As a first-time single mom, I contacted Rebecca to receive supportive and effective lactation consulting. Unfortunately, my experience fell significantly short of expectations, prompting me to remove my initial positive review. It seemed adequate the first day as she seemed to be a nice person, also relentlessly asking me to leave it, and I had no experience or opportunity to compare it to anything. But in a few days that followed, as advised, practices started leading to the worsening of my milk supply and led me to seek immediate help, which led to a change in my opinion. Despite Rebecca's apparent expertise, the session failed to address crucial issues, such as my son's latching difficulties and my inadequate milk supply. Even though Rebecca advertises such services as checking tongue ties and assistance with the latch, she is an entirely hands-off consultant, which, if I had known ahead of time, I would've not booked her. Rebeca sat on the chair most of the appointment and left promptly at the 1.5-hour mark, citing that I hadn't had more questions. At the time, I did not because I didn't know what I needed to ask. Addressing my pump usage alone would have taken over 30 min, but Rebecca doesn't offer such a review unless you explicitly tell her it's needed. Notably, Rebecca's advice against pumping & burping and her passive approach to the session contributed to a near loss in my milk supply. It exacerbated my son's digestive discomfort due to incorrect shallow feeding positions and lack of burping guidance. The lack of practical assistance, particularly with latch correction and pump usage (Rebecca did not offer to review my pumping practices, check if I was using the pump correctly, or measure my nipple, all that despite me telling her that I was using flanges three sizes bigger than what I'm supposed to), forced me to seek another lactation consultant, whose hands-on and proactive approach starkly contrasted Rebecca's. After the visit, Rebecca has shared many links with me to help me learn some information on my own. Many of those links weren't working, and those that did left me wondering where I would find the time to read and watch them when I have a tiny human requiring my 24/7 attention. Her advice to watch movies in the morning and try to get some rest/sleep also seemed a little out of place for a mom with a newborn child. For $450, the services rendered were inadequate and detrimental, leading to stress and additional expenses needed to rectify the issues caused. This experience has not only been financially burdensome but also emotionally taxing, highlighting a pressing need for Rebecca to reevaluate her service delivery and pricing model. I share this feedback not from personal dissatisfaction alone but to caution future clients about the potential disparity between expectations and the reality of the services provided. Requesting a refund, unfortunately, did not lead to a response or negotiations. Despite the quite apparent issues, Rebecca believes that her services were adequate and was unwilling to negotiate. I hope for acknowledgment of these concerns and adjustments in practice to prevent future clients from enduring a similar experience. Just be aware that with the way Rebecca's visits are structured, you need to proactively advocate for yourself and ask her questions, because she won't touch upon topics you personally don't find challenging. Meanwhile, the other LC I hired has an in-depth protocol where she is entirely hands-on and goes over every detail of your nursing journey without you even realizing how many details you are missing. To future customers, I can recommend never to rush to review services you can't compare to anything, and take the time to see if the provided services do lead to long-term positive outcomes. Also, don't pay cash. Otherwise, you risk never getting any reimbursement, even if the services you'll receive won't be what you've expected. read more

Rebecca is hands down amazing! I reached out to her when my son was three weeks old after developing a painful blister from breastfeeding. Rebecca responded immediately and came to us the very next day. She noticed right away that his latch was shallow and taught me tips and techniques for helping him get a better latch, along with muscle exercises to loosen his lips. She also showed me more comfortable feeding positions than the ones I was using (with her very own doll and stuffed toy breast, which I thought was cute). She also weighed my baby before and after feeding and helped me figure out the correct size flange to use for pumping. The very next day she provided us an email with her observations and a detailed care plan. Rebecca is delightful, informed, patient and kind. She listens attentively and provides detailed and technical information. I emailed her with some follow up questions and her response rate was incredibly fast. Rebecca is an invaluable resource for new moms struggling with breast feeding. I highly recommend her. After my husband and I discovered that our son had lost over a pound his first week home from the hospital, we were terrified and concerned breastfeeding would no longer be an option for me. We contacted Rebecca, and she scheduled an appointment to see us right away. I was impressed with how prepared she was for the appointment. She came with a scale (to do a pre and post feed weight) and a variety of supplies (nipple shields of various shapes, supplement tools, etc). She helped me try multiple nursing positions, quickly determined my son had a slight tongue tie that was resulting in him being inefficient on the breast, and helped us strategize different ways to strengthen his suck reflex so that he could be more efficient. She listened intently to our concerns and gave me the knowledge and confidence I needed to continue breastfeeding. She was also very practical and flexible. When I raised how exhausted I was trying to feed and supplement (with pumped milk) in the middle of the night, she taught me how to use a bottle for night feeds in a way that wouldn't interfere with breastfeeding during the day. She understood the practical reality that I needed sleep in order to be successful. She is incredibly responsive to texts and emails for all follow-up questions. Even when I would get stressed and concerned my son wasn't improving fast enough, Rebecca was always thoughtful, positive, and thorough in her responses on next steps. She gave me the tools I needed to succeed, and now my son is able to breastfeed successfully without any supplementing. Rebecca is an expert in her field, and she has a wonderful demeanor that makes her easy to work with. She understands the anxieties of being a new mom, and she is incredibly thoughtful in how she approaches her work. I feel very lucky to have worked with her and that she gave me the tools I needed to successfully breastfeed my baby. read more

Rebecca is amazing! During the first few days of my baby's life at home, I had so many concerns about whether he was getting enough milk because his diaper count wasn't what everyone said it should be. I was connected to Rebecca through another consultant who wasn't able to come to my location. I texted Rebecca in the early morning and she was able to come to my home that very day! She made me feel immediately comfortable when she arrived and she came very well prepared! She has a scale to weigh the baby before and after the feeding and walked me through various nursing positions that would make me and baby more comfortable. She also gave me tips on how my husband can bond with the baby by doing skin to skin with him after a feed, or my husband can give a bottle of expressed milk while I pump more. She made me feel so confident in both my and my son's abilities to breastfeed. She answered any and all questions I had and reminded me that she would be available via text and email to answer any follow-up questions. I had the pleasure to work with Rebecca. I contacted her and was able to have her visit me and my newborn within a few days. She is extremely accommodating and easily reached. Rebecca was very punctual and prepared. She brought many samples of items for me to try in order to make breastfeeding more comfortable. Rebecca showed me different techniques to get my newborn to latch. I was worried my baby wouldn't latch in one session but she did relatively quick. Rebecca weighed my baby beforehand and in between each feeding to determine how much oz of milk being consumed. Pretty accurate. Wonderful experience with Rebecca. She weighed baby before and after feeding to tell me how much milk baby got, and gave very helpful advice on nursing positions which made me and baby more comfortable. After a couple weeks of working with a Doula, our newborn was still having a really difficult time nursing and had lost a little weight - the Doula is a lactaction consultant as well, but recommended we try an IBCLC (more experience & training) because of the multitude of difficulties we were experiencing. Rebecca saw us in less than 24 hrs notice and came in like a miracle worker. She has an extensive intake form that we filled out, which she read thoroughly before the appointment, and was prepared to hit the ground running after a few mins of initial talking. She is super friendly & compassionate, and basically within 10 mins showed us a new technique that got our son nursing on the spot. She walked us through a custom-tailored & very detailed plan to keep improving, and in the same day sent us a written version of the plan + a superbill for us to submit to insurance in hopes of reimbursement. We just got back from the doctor where he gained 8 ounces in 7 days, a fantastic improvement, and our lives are significantly easier with his nursing progress. She's also been quickly responsive & helpful with follow-up questions. We are so happy our Doula referred us to Rebecca & she was worth every penny! read more

I had the pleasure of meeting with Rebecca a few days ago. I first questioned the necessity of meeting with a lactation consultant, despite my issues with breastfeeding. I was shy and felt that this is something that should just come naturally to me. Rebecca was kind, understanding, patient, and beyond knowledgeable regarding all my lactation concerns. She made me feel more confident and gave me the support I needed not to give up breastfeeding altogether. Rebecca has been so wonderful, I was able to book her for a home consultation when I most needed advice for newborn care and breastfeeding support. She was very communicative and let know what type of different techniques we would be covering and offered many outside resources I was not aware of. She worked on latching and positioning for newborns, as well as taking precise weight measurements, giving a full report for insurance reimbursements, and helped me to find out how much milk the baby was consuming with precise weight measurements. She also gave insight to many cues that newborn behavior that have been very insightful. Rebecca met with me for over two hours and her warm and caring demeanor and easy candor quickly put me at ease and gave me the confidence to continue with exclusive breastfeeding. She was a lifesaver and game changer. I am so incredibly grateful to have been able to meet with her for the consultation. Not only, we have been in communication afterwards where I've been able to ask additional questions via texts with her quick responses. I had painful clogged ducts so I immediately booked a lactation consultant through Boober. Was connected to Rebecca and was able to get an appt the same day. Rebecca was very welcoming and made me feel at ease right away (I mean, who else do you meet for the first time and talk about breasts right?) The 2 hr session was spent talking about my history to see if we could diagnose why I was having clogged ducts and then plan my next course of action. She also observed a feeding, gave latching advice, and weighed my LO to see how much he was eating. All in all, she was very thorough and I highly recommend. Rebecca Rebecca where do I begin! She was literally a God send. This review comes many weeks after she helped me, but as many mums know the newborn life can be a busy one...I just wanted to give her the praise she deserves. I was in such pain emotionally and physically with my breast feeding journey and she came right away in the wee hours of the morning to help. She was even willing to come late in the evening if need be. We worked so hard, and although after a couple of weeks I decided to end my breastfeeding journey due to my son's severe allergy and reflux, as well as my emotional stability for my son, Rebecca still offered support and I know I gained a friend in all of this. She never pressured me or judged me throughout my journey. She was also available day and night via text or call no matter how many times I contacted her with questions and concerns as well as major emotional support. She also introduced me to a breast feeding circle that she does and although it was only once that I attended, that day was so good on my heart. Rebecca was fantastic, and I'm so grateful for her help. We contacted her when my daughter was a week old, very tiny, and struggling to eat. When she arrived, Rebecca immediately put my husband and me at ease with her calm, warm, genuine, and confident demeanor.
