THEN explain that you take very few insurance policies and you want to make sure the patient is covered. Perhaps this is a very small detail to most, but you are caring for human beings with real medical issues who want to feel like they matter. Asking one's name takes very little time. And most likely, most of your potential patients have already checked with their insurance company to see if you take their insurance.

Person in charge of BILLING has no clue how banking or accounting works, so if she can't "locate" payment patient made, she will demand you pay again even though you have proof of payment, just because it's easier than actually learning how to do her job.
