Kind of grossed me out a little bit. Another thing, when you live somewhere and work somewhere, you would think that you would have a basic knowledge of the area where you live. I was trying to find a nice mom and pop style breakfast or brunch restaurant, and this lady at the counter was clueless. She did not even know if her hotel had books or literature on the town of Marshall. If I had to stay here again, I would because it wasn't too terrible, but I would have to think twice, especially knowing there are other hotels out there.

First, it didn't have bleach wipes to wipe down equipment before and after use. This is a must in any hotel offering fitness facilities. There is a liquid sanitizer dispenser but no wipes to use on the equipment itself. Next was the treadmill. It's an older model but someone has pushed/worked the tread to the right causing it to catch and fray the edge of the track. It makes a loud noise and is bumpy/vibrates a lot. Management should fix this equipment as many people use it when working out.

The girl at the front desk named Ashyri knew that what the GM was doing was wrong and told me I have a room for but I can't override the price I don't have that authority. She did put me in a suite to try and help the matter. Which was kind of her. But I told her 20 minutes ago Kawonna told me there were no rooms available period and now you are putting me in a suite? She said I can't comment on that sir. The property is dirty the tv didn't work the breakfast was terrible my toilet made noises nonstop and I was told that pool had been closed for over 2 years. Marriott should be ashamed that their name is on this property. It is not a Marriott quality property. Not many options listed for Marshall and Holiday Inn Express & Suites seemed like the best option based on available information. I used the direction provided by Priceline. The hotel was about 15 minutes from where Priceline had directed me to go. The room above mine had some people who walked with very heavy feet, so I heard every step made throughout the night and the next morning. Seems as if sound deadening material was left out of the construction planning for this hotel. Staff was friendly, and the free breakfast was decent. It's better than some and not as good as some other hotels. The parking lot in front of the hotel was well lit, and even though the hotel was at the every end of the street, I had no concerns about my vehicle.

I was able to find the reservation information on my email and gave her the name it was booked under and she finally gave us our room keys. No thank you, no have a nice day, nothing. Rude for no reason other than maybe I was interrupting her lunch maybe? I can only assume based on the food stains all over the front of her shirt I don't know. The place itself is what you would imagine it to be, nothing fancy but our room was clean and decently kept up. No complaints there. Hire better help.
