This visit was much better than the last. The lady that did my check-in at the front desk was the sweetest. I asked for a room in the fifth floor so I would not have a toddler stomping over my head like last time, and she was very accommodating, which I greatly appreciated. I was able to get a great night's sleep due to the room being so dark and quiet. The general areas of the property could use an update, but that is a minor detail. Fingers crossed my next visit is just as good! read more

Overall this a good hotel to stay with restaurant on site. Staff is courteous and helpful. My biggest concern is some rooms they have old fitting for restrooms and water pressure can be awful depending on what room you are in. Its still a good place but lower rating due to the issues with water pressure and other water faucets in restrooms. The other issue is $7 parking fee which I feel is a steep ask for Longview especially when many other hotels dont charge this amount. read more

Front desk staff were the best part of the stay. Hot breakfast was good with plenty of options including bacon, sausage, hash browns, bagels, scones, cereal, and cut fruit. Fresh fruit bowel, coffee, tea available 24 hours. Complimentary bottled water was nice. The people were helpful and nice. Walls were thin and the first night couldn't sleep because of the partiers next door. Beds were pretty comfortable. Individual temp control in room was nice. The pictures looked like there was a hot tub but there isn't. Pool area nice but water looks dirty. Restaurant is closed but bar open and does have a menu. We got mushroom ravioli that was great and they made a grilled cheese for us that wasn't on the menu. Cleanliness is an issue. The vent in the bathroom was disgusting. The light in the room worked but was really old and dinged up. Overall decent place to stay. Decent value. read more

On 3/18/24 we arrived on property and noticed how empty the lot was . Checking in , the staff member was very soft spoken and did not make eye contact . We questioned some of the email content as we made the 4 1/2 hour trip from Houston . One question was do you really charge $7.00 per night to park ? Her first response was .. We are under new owners and that is their policy My response was .. I'm not paying that Rediculous policy . We visited the bar after checking in and here is that laughable experience : Male bar tender was there . I asked for champagne for my wife Bar tender says "If I pop the cork I have to charge you $90.00 for the bottle . Okay , I said but how may pours at what cost ? Bar tender well it's $11.00 a glass and there are about 4 pours to the bottle Okay I said so you said $90.00 a bottle but if I drank and shared with my wife all 4 glasses it would be $44.00 dollars not $90.00 Bar tender yes Suggestion : don't tell customers this nonsense You are worried a customer will have but one glass and leave a bottle almost full That's doing business not forcing customers to pay your bar shrink Obviously we will not be back read more

First time spending the night in Longview. This was a great hotel experience minus the drama getting checked in. Apparently it's better to book with them directly versus a hotel website. Our dates were mixed up, we had to re-reserve in person because there was currently no king suites available. We ended up with a first floor king basically behind the pool. It was very noisy from all the traffic to the elevator, the pool and lobby. I could hear the lobby phone ringing while in our room. Keep in mind we had a baby so it was a lot. I did love that the rooms have wood floors. They provide a ton of free snacks in the room so no need to worry about buying any. The lobby is beautiful. Bar made strong drinks. Plus there was plenty of parking. The girl at the front desk could have been friendlier initially. She wasn't really trying to help locate my reservation until I was ready to pop off and already on the phone with Expedia. The room door was broke when we arrived to our room and not closing correctly. Was able to force closed and get some sleep. Told the staff next morning and they didn't apologize or seem to care that much. Every other Hilton chain we have stayed at including Embassy Suites has had complementary breakfast except for this one that charges $16 per adult and $7 per child plus tip on a self serve cheap buffet that is not better than the complementary breakfast. The wait staff for the kitchen was hiding in the kitchen and after we had put food on our plates popped out to tell about the price. Why did the front desk not explain this? The wait gal was also very pushy and rude. Horrible experience. read more

We visited family in Longview for 6 days. HGI Longview has declined recently. We have stayed here numerous times over the last 8 or 9 years. I will say that housekeepers were pleasant and did a very good job. It's not common for such a hotel to charge $7 for parking in a small town and they said their corporate franchise demands they charge it! Well, You just lost my future business at this HGI location. The pool is very nice, but it is very noisy at 85 decibels which is harmful to hearing. I asked if they could turn off the "fountain in the pool" and the front desk looked around and could not figure out how to do that. I think the "fountain" caused much of the decibel reading on my phone app. The air circulation is very good which is wonderful, but that could also be part of the high decibel reading (wouldn't really know that unless you compare readings with "fountain" and air ventilation switched on and off). The coffee was horrible. Yes, horrible. Spend a little more on quality coffee please! It's unfortunate that construction issues exist for a newly built property. Maintenance/Housekeeping was poor in the hotel lobby whereby the men's toilet had 2 backed up toilets I noticed two days in a row. Unacceptable Summit Hotel Properties needs to pay attention to details and consumers! read more

I picked this location over the other beaded on the reviews. The other properties had everything from bed bugs to horrible service. Not here. The building, lobby, and room were all super nice. The suite was huge with a little bit of furniture. I would have liked to have seen a bit more of a living room type furniture to better entertain guests you have over. The staff interaction I had seemed to actually enjoy their work. They definitely did well by me. If I travel through here again I'd stay here again. Yes, the pool is closed indefinitely... with nothing on the website to indicate so. Floor sound shower was sunken in, I guess due to water leakage . When I checked out, they hadn't applied my $10 credit for food and beverage correctly. Basically telling me I was wrong. Called the hotel later, left a voicemail but no call back. Definitely won't be recommending this hotel. Some of the staff were very nice and helpful however. Just the manager who is a deadbeat. read more

Most Hilton properties have become tired or the service has become mediocre at best during Covid. This hotel is a very pleasant exception. This is hands down the worst hotel experience we have EVER had. Booked 2 nights (Friday and Saturday) using my Hilton Honors Friends and Family Discount which usually runs me about half of regular room price. This ended up being quite a bit higher than that. Checked in with no problem and nobody told us there were any issues. Here's what we encountered. 1. Splash Pad for kids was broken. 2. Refrigerator was broken. (Didn't realize until the next day when all of our food was warm. 3. Reported refrigerator to front desk who said they would send maintenance immediately. HE NEVER SHOWED UP. 4. Realized my grand babies were COVERED in bites. BED BUGS!!! As Hilton Honors members, or actually as any guest should, we expect better than this from any hotel, but especially from Hilton. My wife and I travel quite a bit and intentionally seek out HGI properties due to their consistentcy in Quality and Service. Generally I give them 4 or 5 stars and would have done the same for this location had it not been for the bar service. We checked in at the front desk on Wednesday Jan 18, 2023. The lady was very friendly and courteous. We checked into our room and it was exceptionally large and clean as expected. So far so good, we're lookin at a 5. We then went to the bar and that's when things went downhill quickly. We had driven for quite a few hours and didn't really want to go outside for food. We planned to have a few drinks and dinner at the bar and would probably have spent 70 to 100 bucks there before retiring for the evening. If Service is decent I always leave 25 to 30% tip. Unfortanately we had to change our plans. We sat down and the bar tender sauntered over (no smile, no how are ya, no welcome), plopped down some menus and reluctantly asked what we wanted to drink. My wife and I both ordered beer and she retrieved them, placed them at the front of the bar and turned to walk away. My wife pleassantly stopped her and asked for a glass for her beer. That seemed to piss her off (there was no "of course", or "i'm sorry I should of asked", or "sure"). Only a disgusted look. Then she grabs a glass out of the refrigerator (so they DID have frosty glasses), sat it in front of my wife with no comment and walked away. The next few minutes she spent most of her time watching the TV and fanning herself with a menu!! Her body language screamed that she didn't want to be there and could care less about taking care of us in a friendly manner. My wife and I both looked at each other and said no way we are eating here or even having another drink. We felt like we were intruding on this lady and felt really uncomfortable even sitting there. So we left and at elsewhere. Hopefully she was just having a bad day and the attitude we witnessed was not the norm. Also, I'm not trying to get her in trouble. Just giving other Yelpers a heads up on what you may experience. We will continue to stay at HGI in future travels, but this one goes off our list. Never again. So, in summary 5 stars for front desk and room quality. 1 star (because I can't give 0) to the bar service. read more

Hotel is easy to find and in a safe area. Hotel is clean. Bathroom water pressure was good and towels were nice. Bed and pillows were good. But, (this is a personal preference) the bathroom door is a sliding door that doesn't close well or lock. Not a big deal to some. But, I can't deal with those. read more

This was a very well-appointed hotel. I love the ocean-like colors and airiness from the moment I walked into the lobby. It was pretty late at night when we arrived. The young gentleman at registration said that we were his last check-in of the evening. Luckily, it was all quick. There was a luggage cart out front and we quickly loaded up and headed to our room on the 5th floor (room 511). I opened the door to the room and was not expecting to see how large the room was. The space was huge! It reminded me of an apartment-sized room. Dining table in the middle of the living room (separated from the bedroom), couch (pull-out) & TV. The restroom was quite tiny for such a big room and was in the corner to the left of the entryway. To the right of the entryway was a nice sized-closet with really cool shelves & drawers. Again, the space of the place was huge. The bedroom had a king-sized bed + a TV on top of the dresser drawers. I loved everything about the space. A few negative things though (but did not affect my stay, since we were only staying 1 night): not sure where the thermostat was to be controlled (it only seemed to work when I controlled on the AC unit itself, not the wall thermostat) + AC expelled an odd odor from the bedroom unit, cable was missing many good channels and the fridge did not seem to work (it was cool in the back, but the front of with was room temp). Because of COVID, the dining was not available and the pool was off limits. Oh well, no big deal those things... totally understandable. I'd love to be back there, when going to Texas again. It's a good 4+ hours from Baton Rouge. Tip: across the street from the famous Andy's Custard. read more

It's my home away from home. My grandson loves being here and his interactions with this great team. I wasn't going to comment on my stay, most of my problems were fixed by the General manager. BUT the last straw was when I check out this morning. I'm a Hilton honor member, I used my reward points for a free room. When I checked out I asked for a printed receipt for my records. They charged me $390!!! I told the desk clerk that I had used points and it was suppose to be $0, she got the Asst manager, she talked to him, he never said a word to me. Never asked how many points I used. She then handed me a bill for $166, I again told her I used 60,000 points and it should be $0. She once again got Asst manager, he again never said a word to me. She then handed me a bill for $122 and a fourth for $0. Never apologized, never offered a explanation on why they changed my reservation. My advice is to ALWAYS ask for a printed receipt and make sure you aren't over charged. Like I said the General Manager was very polite when I dealt with him, but the morning desk lady and Asst Manager are less then friendly and lack professionalism. read more

My room was soo dirty! The room look disheveled when I walked in. Clearly the mattress was too large for my bed frame, see pic. The lamp on my nightstand looked like it had used for a cat scratching post, see pic. The water pressure was little to nothing, barely hot water for my shower and when I got to my room my digital room key didn't even work...I had to lug all my items back down to the lobby to get an actual room card...ugh!! Then you guys have no ice machines?! I was just in Waco this past weekend at one of your sites and they had ice makers working?!! I have stayed here many weeks this year due to many jobs in Longview. My stays are usually pretty uneventful. Decent, quiet rooms, good beds, customer service, etc. Nothing out of the ordinary, but not bad. The main reason for my lower rating is because I had this issue (see pictures), in one of the rooms, which kind of made me paranoid about the cleanliness of the hotel. This hotel was nice. I liked that the attendant or first day recommending which room to give to which group in our party (girls got the nicer room-haha). The teenagers loved the pool- even if the mushroom didn't work. The rooms were great, shower had good water pressure and temp. Oddly enough though-we found a random pair of underwear in the bathroom in the second day. The breakfast was amazing- I highly recommend putting it as an extra on your room. read more

We came for a wedding and this was the worst hotel experience I have ever experienced. First, we arrived a little before 3, which was our check in time, and were told our rooms weren't ready. We waited until just after 4 for our double queen room and my in laws had to wait a bit longer for their suite. Next, we were under the impression there was breakfast. Hot breakfast is $11 and up for a plate and continental breakfast (cereal, bagels, yogurt, coffee, etc) is $10! And the kicker, they accidentally overbooked the suite my in laws were in. The entire wedding group booked rooms for Thursday-Sunday. The wedding was Saturday. Saturday morning they call my father in law down and inform him that they need the suite and they will need to move his room. We were already at the wedding venue starting to get ready with hair etc so my in laws (in their 70's ) had to move all the bags etc into a new room. Unbelievable! Some things were out of their control but just a sign that things aren't being well maintained and taken care of- like only one elevator being functional the entire time of our stay. So we had to wait long periods of time each time we needed an elevator - which by the way aren't air conditioned so you work up a sweat just getting from one floor to the next. No pool.. we knew this but it still is ridiculous. I would expect this if I was paying less than $100 a night but for the prices of these rooms- I'll be going across the street to La Quinta or booking an Airbnb. I can't say anything good about the place. read more

This is a very new and gorgeous Hilton. They have very modern rooms with some nice touches like a barn door for the bathroom. There is just a throw rug under the bed and the entire room is not carpeted which is great for my allergies. The closet space has a nice layout with metal wire baskets instead of a traditional dresser. There is also a microwave, mini-fridge and K-Cup coffee maker. The pool area is also pretty fun, they have a mini lazy river and waterfall for the kids and a nice outdoor lounge area. Wish they had a hot tub but it's all good...they also have a pretty compact but nicely laid out fitness room. Apparently they also have a restaurant on site...but we had a not so great experience during check-in which is why they are only getting 4 stars. We finish up our 5 hour drive and are just wanting to check in and relax before going to the homecoming game last Friday. There was a guy checking in with some girl that had a hospital bracelet on driving a pretty expensive Audi, there has to be a good story there somewhere. At any rate, there is one guy helping him out and then there are two girls on the computer cackling away and clucking like some chickens about room assignments. The one gal looked like a manager, she was a black lady in her late 30s...no hello we will be right with you, no eye contact..just cackling and utter confusion. We were waiting for a few more minutes, I am getting a bit peeved as it seems like there is no end in site to getting my room key (I already checked in and picked my room). At this point the two clucking hens must have heard me muttering to my husband about horrible service and if this Hilton wants to be super fancy they are failing at the front desk and they scurry off to the back. The young guy checks us in, has zero personality. Throws a key at me and asks as an afterthought if I wanted some water and thanks for being a Hilton honors member...and your room is around that way somewhere. First impressions lasted with me on this one, as lovely as a hotel that this is...they need some serious training on their front desk. The rest of the staff was great but whenever we come back here, I am doubtful I would stay here because of them. read more

$340 for two rooms, one night. Had reservations, said $130 per room each night online. Got there, charger $168 per. Ridiculous. Did not notify us they CHARGED for breakfast, let alone $10 for ONE muffin. The woman at front desk told us the pool was not open AFTER we already payed nearly $350 for two rooms. On top of all that, reservations had us on the 2nd floor. When we checked in, they had us on the top floor, meaning they probably gave our rooms to someone else. read more

I was in Longview for 6 days for a business trip. This Hotel stay was so good! The staff were friendly. The check in process was fast, making life easier as I was traveling and exhausted when I arrived. The room was clean, spacious and bed was very comfortable. Couple of things that I saw was that the flooring was bad, wood style tiles lifting up throughout the room. The pool HAS a jacuzzi not well advertised I saw it on my last night there I wish I would have noticed sooner. Overall as a female traveling alone I felt comfortable and safe, the WiFi was perfect for work. My one complaint!!! I am from California so I have never experienced a storm like the last night I was there. At 1 am a storm Alarm went off in the hotel, it was a traumatic experience like never before. I had an anxiety attack as the alarm was so loud like I have never experienced before. There was no warning or guidance to comfort guest such as myself. And when I panicked I grabbed the room key and went out to the hall way to find another young woman alone and upset. I just wish it was handled differently. We immediately walked in and noticed that the pool was not up to standards. It was a giant kiddie pool and the deepest end was 4ft. The water was freezing cold and there was no life guard on duty. We decided to check-in to our room but to our surprise the suite we booked weeks in advanced was currently occupied. We then booked two separate rooms on the same floor but were only provided with one key to one room. No snacks were provided in our room as we were promised. There was one working elevator and no stairs were accessible. The hotel was overall extremely sketchy and we had problems with the TV in addition the other altercations we've already experienced. There was little little to no view. Not to mention the extremely creepy interaction we had with former stayers. We were offered many bracelets which we of course did not accept but were offered by a strange couple who asked us multiple questions about which room we were in, how long we were staying, and much more. It made me extremely uncomfortable and from then on we avoided changed floors as much as possible due to the lack of interchangeable methods to transfer floors. The customer service and maintenance was overall poor and not well-ran. All around it was a huge disappointment and I would absolutely not recommend the hospitality here. read more

Chose a handicap room. The lighting in the room was poor. The coffee maker and the microwave were stuck in a cubby hole with no lighting to see the buttons on the microwave. It was so dark that my wife couldn't see the creamer and sugar and said that they hadn't provided any. The bathroom was not fully handicap accessible. The vanity and the electrical outlets were way too high for someone that was wheelchair bound. The hallway was noisy late at night with kids running down it clammering about as they went back and forth from the pool. One of the side entry doors was not accepting the access card. The hotel booklet that was in the room was not very well designed. It failed to show where any of the vending machines were located. read more

We stayed there for 3 days, the wait staff was wonderful, the breakfast was not so good. The floors were a mess hours after breakfast was closed. The rooms are very small. The bathroom door, although very nice, did not lock and when someone was in there, the light came through the glass and brightened up the room, also there was no fan in there for the fog from the shower. There was a dirty rag outside on a bench in front of the hotel that stayed there for three days. The housekeeping staff was very unfriendly. The pool was the best thing they had to offer as we had our 5 year old grandson with us but don't stay too late, people were by the pool drinking till all hours of the night and left quite a mess... For the price, I would rather stay somewhere else read more

The Hilton was recommended for us while I was to be in the hospital for surgery it was reported to have a kitchen in the room we reserved. It had a microwave and a small refrigerator that did not work.we were also told it had laundry facilities, it had one washer and one dryer. We were advised ( by the surgeon) that we should be able to get a discount when staying here for medical procedures, we paid the highest rate they had. There was no hot water in the morning that I was to have surgery, and I was forced to have a cold one. The front desk was very slow in answering my call about issues with the room, and I've stayed in older cheap motels that had more sound protection from the rooms around you. They charge for Wi-fi, which would be ok with me,except it was slow and unsecured. If you are coming to Longview for a medical procedure stay far away from this hotel. It is overpriced and could endanger your health before your procedure. (Medicine I needed to kept cool was damaged) There are plenty of hotels and motels in the area, and if you're here for medical reasons, your money is going to be short to begin with, this hotel just poured salt into my open wounds. After this experience, I doubt that I will ever stay at another Hilton again. Every Motel 6 I have stayed in was better, and cheaper to boot! Added note: Last night, I needed ice to ease the the pain I was having from surgery. I went to where the ice machine was to be, but a sign on it said it was a " hydration machine ", and that if we called the front desk, they would bring it. 45 minuets after we called, my wife had to go down stairs to get the ice. If it weren't for the difficulty in my going to another hotel, I would have left then! (The surgeon want me to stay in town another night Incase there were problems from my procedure). read more
