South Street shops are not known for great customer experiences. Unica is different. On my recent visit there, the women I spoke with were great. No pressure, decent listening skills, reasonable awareness of inventory, etc. This is big news, especially for you Gay Uncle types for whom walking into a kids store is fraught with nail-chewing questions about What's the right size, Is this appropriate, How do you clean it, What if they hate it, and so on. Not cheap lol BUT quality of the products is excellent. Today I was helped by Robin (Robyn? Not positive on the spelling) but she was SOOOO helpful in recommending good gift options for my buddies kids. She wrapped the clothes beautifully and even noted which box was for which kid. She was fun to chit chat with and truly made my shopping experience enjoyable and a highlight of my day. I'll be back!

I saw that this alleged boutique was close to our hotel, so my 4 year old daughter and I walked over to have a look. From the moment we walked in, a young woman seemed to be looking over us at every turn. It didn't dawn on me for a while that she was someone who works there, actually following me, presumably for loss prevention reasons, for the precise reason that this HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ME EVER BEFORE IN MY LIFE! Usually sales associates flock to me because, based on the way I present myself, they know they are about to make a sizable commission. This might have made more sense if I was dressed casually or something, but I guess they see a lot of thieves wearing Hermes and diamonds? A word of advice to the staff: you sell onesies; get over yourself. Oh, and your selection is very pedestrian; get a new buyer because your sales floor looks like literal garbage.

I'm not sure if the owner (of a children's store mind you) has ever encountered twins before, but loudly referring to one as "chunky" and the other as "skinny," while the girls are listening, is absolutely unacceptable. What makes it even worse is that it simply is not true. I can only describe this inaccurate interpretation as rude, insensitive, and hateful. If you saw how sweet the twins are and how adorable and close their relationship is, you would understand even more how atrocious and out of line this comment truly was. I'm not sure if she needs an IQ test, a sensitivity course, or both, but I personally could never give money to a store that functions with such a low moral code. Of course, shop at your own free will, but I would personally appreciate it if you would buy your children's clothing elsewhere in honor of my adorable nieces who should never have to endure such a mean-spirited comment from someone, least of all from a tactless adult who should know better. Offering a discount to make up for the comment was the the icing on the cake. My niece's self-image cannot be bought. This was about the principal of the matter. When I went in to reclaim them, they had not been sold, but the jeans could not be located in the store. I returned a second time to search again, and still, they could not be found. Staff briefly helped me look, but there was no resolution. When I reached out to customer service, the only solution offered was for me to pay $9.99 for staff to search again and if they aren't found, I would lose both the jeans and the $9.99. This is completely unacceptable. The item was lost while in their possession, and I should not be financially responsible for their error. I expected accountability and a fair resolution, but instead I'm left frustrated and out a valuable item. I cannot recommend this consignment shop based on this experience.
