Love the new lights in my living room which only had a small little lamp to light it, the new recessed lights look beautiful and simple, and make the room that much more inviting. The first time we used Bright Star was the week of Christmas, we have a 50+ year old house and when our Christmas lights (that were not very efficient) blew out some old wiring and caused half our house to go dark and our garage to stop opening. Ronald from Bright Star came out to help, he did not quit till he found the cause of the problem and quickly repaired it. I am very pleased with their customer service and work ethic and overall know-how. They are the only company we will ever use.

He was quick to reply, quick to return my message and was able to book me the next day. I got a message that he might be late by 15 minutes, but he ended up being perfectly on time. He was proactive in all communication with me so that is really appreciated. He was able to quickly diagnose the issue in about 20 minutes. I had a similar issue in the past that another electrician took over an hour to diagnose. After the fix he spent another 15 minutes talking me through a separate issue that I was planning on tackling myself in the future. He was reasonable in his bill. Would call again.

Robert came out to inspect the damage, explained his approach to solve the problem, and provided a reasonable proposal for his work. He was highly communicative and professional every step of the way. The work itself is clearly high quality. The area where the rot was has been completely replaced and touched up so that you can't tell there was ever an issue there in the first place. I will absolutely be calling Robert for any future projects we have. 10/10

The two Workman were nice and very polite. Usually on time However they did not pay attention to details and preparation before painting. Furniture was covered but areas that should be protected from the ceiling and wall paint were not sufficiently masked off or protected from paint splatter. Two areas on the living room carpeting had good size paint drops and looked as if the workers tried to clean the area but what ever they used, left the carpet discolored . There should have been better protection while painting. Also some ceiling paint splatter on pleated shades. Again they did not protect the area. One hard wood floor vent had paint drips in between the grates. Home owner was able to remove it with efforts. Business owner apologized for the incomplete dry wall repair and said he would send a different crew to fix. He Apologized for the carpet spots with no solution. Our advice is to instruct his crew to pay more attention to protecting the home owners areas that aren't part of the work they are hired for and to detail work around moldings, doorways , windows and fixtures. We had only one area of white woodwork that was painted, the stair railing. Result was satisfactory but not as well done as previous areas in the past. Homeowner chose not to have any other woodwork painted and is satisfied with that choice. The home owner was very prepared prior for the job to start, having moved furniture, light fixtures, wall electrical plates, drapes and obvious obstructions before the workers arrived. This handyman was chosen because he could provide both dry wall repair and painting. His bid for the job was fair but the completed overall work by his crew was below average more due to the painting including lack of care in the preparation and detailing. We are left to do lots of touch up areas around moldings, window and door casings, in the rooms that were painted.

Anthony has been my "go to" for years now, ever since 2023 shortly after I purchased my home. I've…read morereviewed on Google but I should have posted here as well. I've had him do all sorts of work and repairs on my house over the years, ranging from simple drywall and painting repairs, fixture installations all the way up to a ~$20k kitchenette. He's a licensed subcontractor as well, so I've even had electrical and plumbing done *also* at a competitive rate (subcontracted separately as well as part of kitchenette work). This works out well for me considering he'll help oversee it, time it such that he'll also do the repairs shortly after any holes need to be made. With any and all work he does, he offers not only great solutions (better than some dedicated specialist contractors) but also better-quality results, done holistically. It's hard-earned praise. I've worked directly with various plumbers, various electricians and also had him do some other work as well as subcontract out what was needed. These days I've learned to bounce my ideas off of him first before going out and getting a specialist first.

He is professional, friendly, and as a bonus I asked him about a non functioning doorknob on our bathroom door and he is looking into a replacement. The price for my project was reasonable and I am very happy with the new system and the prospect of a functioning doorknob! I highly recommend Anthony- he is an Honest Handyman!

He claimed to have fixed the deck support but all he did was place one of our landscaping rocks under one corner which we could have done ourselves. Attached photos show the end result that he left us with. It seems like it was due to bad materials more than lack of skill but it should not have been what we were left with. We reached out that night to let him know we were not satisfied with the work and and after some difficult and delayed communications, he did agree come back and make it right. two weeks later he replaced the deck boards again. This time it was done right, as it should have in the first place. We really appreciate his willingness to come back and correct the mistakes. We're happy with the re-do but probably will not hire him again due to this negative experience overall.

They also…read moredid not respond to any contact attempts on phone, e-mail, or Yelp after the appointment was made. It's been four days now and I haven't heard from them. In all honesty the silence is so deafening I'm hoping no one is hurt or otherwise out of things due to something unfortunate. Looking back I can see that they said the appointment was 'tentative', and that they'd call ahead of time. Fair enough. That bothers me a lot less than the complete silence afterwards. Without any kind of response one way or another I had to assume they were coming, and sit around all day waiting for it to happen. Edit: I was finally contacted six days later and after posting this review. The business owner was very upset because of this review. They claimed I was lying, they threatened me with using slander laws against me. In the interest of full disclosure I will reprint all the relevant details of our communication and you can decide. Regardless, I am within my rights to write a bad review of a business that I feel treated me poorly. Even if I'm wrong. So, good Yelpers, you decide: Me: (Initial request for quote based on work, unnecessary to reprint) Business: Hi Jay, Booked out until next week, but could you provide the service address, for that's how we schedule? (They listed their rates. I won't reprint that because they may change them in the future or for specific jobs) Let us know your thoughts and we'll go from there. Thank you for your time. Me: Next week is fine, (contact info I won't reprint here) Business: Hi Jay, How does Monday between 8:30 and 9 sound? Me: Monday is our daughter's first day of school, so not a great day. Wednesday morning I'm busy. Otherwise the rest of the week is open. Business: We can tentatively set it for Tuesday at 9 Me: That sounds good. Business: Alright, you're in there and this is for the actual work correct? You're list was pretty descriptive and we'll come as prepared as possible less any speciality materials we'd have to go get. Me: (details of the job, not necessary to reprint) Business: Will attempt to call you prior to appointment sir. That was the last time I heard from them until after the review, then: Business: Very extremely rude of you sir to post such false things. Tenative means that we're still deciding if we want your jobs! We have the right to decide what work we take and your projects may not be a fit for us. We never made an agreed time out of respect for YOUR SCHEDULE but we are a business not your personal servant. Business: Very very rude Business: There are also SLANDER LAWS in this state sir. NOT FAIR that you have posted such things Business: We thhink it wise for you to delete the slander upon our company who are not your personal servants but a simple Service that you called for help but your schedule did did not match with the OPTIONS we only had available to you. I believe if you look at my original review and the communication there was not a single falsehood. I mentioned they said "tentative", but I also think their communication implied an appointment. You be the judge. They never refused me service, but honestly that would have been preferable. I never treated them like they were my "servants". I've worked with enough handymen and contractors to know that sometimes jobs aren't a fit. But setting an appointment, even tentatively, then never communicating again is unprofessional, and I will write a review for that.
