Sure, Home Depot offers paint brands that are cheaper, but as the foundation of a room's decor, I don't think paint is something you should skimp on. Miller paint is of an exceptional quality, and I've had nothing but good luck using their products over the years. This Hollywood location provides one-stop shopping for all of my needs, and the staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They've even helped me carry my paint and supplies out to my car on several occasions. If you are remodeling a home, or spending a considerable amount of time and money on a home project, it pays to develop a relationship with a brand and retailer you can trust. The folks at Miller Paint have consistently proven themselves to me time and time again, saving me time and money in the long run. read more

I wish I had a better review, but this place has been around and I know how high quality their paints are, and local, so, let's just make a recommendation, instead and make it positive, hopefully. Food for thought: Busy or not, acknowledging people is super important. Starting out with a quick hello or a gesture would go a long way. And hey, you're busy or not, I'll wait forever if I'm just seen. :) I'm really looking forward to our upcoming house painting through our contractor with Miller Paint, but, this location could use some customer service work. read more

I got expert help here choosing a product that would work to paint a concrete floor and wall and they mixed the colors custom. When i got home I realized I had made a bad choice on the color and I took the paint back hoping they could alter it. Because the product is special they could not alter the color, but they DID replace it with a new custom color! I was astounded. 5 stars for great customer service! Thank you Miller Paint in Hollywood. read more

I came into Miller Paint on a Saturday with my husband to get a small amount of trim paint to finish the back of our house. I brought a sample of the existing paint and asked for a color match. The clerk immediately responded with visible frustration, saying, "You want a color match on a Saturday? That's gonna be like four hours," in a rude and dismissive tone. The interaction felt unnecessarily aggressive and unwelcoming. Since the paint was basically black and the area was in the back of the house, I decided not to press it and just asked for a can of black exterior paint. Unfortunately, we were given a glossy finish, and the rest of our house is matte--so now the section doesn't match. What made this worse is that I've always relied on Miller Paint for expert guidance. I'm not a paint professional, and I expect staff to be helpful and respectful. It would also be helpful if Miller had a system to look up past purchases or formulas, which they apparently don't. That alone could have saved us from buying the wrong finish. The way we were treated really left a bad impression. We left feeling frustrated, unwelcome, and without the product we needed. Disappointing experience all around. read more

The generosity and expertise I received from the folks at Miller Paint on Sandy was so appreciated! They spent nearly an hour tweaking a paint I I brought in to match a sample. You don't get that kind of personal care at a big box store. Thanks and kudos to the employees and nanager!! read more

I had been renovating an old, decrepit, little house from the 1950's for the past couple of months, and was very happy to have found Miller Paint Company. Why? Lots of reasons... 1. Really, really, really good service. You walk in, they say hi. Even though they are always very busy - it's a hot spot for contractors picking up paints. They manage to make sure everyone is taken care of, consistently (I went in there at least twice a week to pick up more paint because I was repainting every room of my house). They always walk you to your vehicle! They carry your things for you. It's wonderful. Extra funny: I'm a bicyclist, I carry my paints in a huge bike basket - they *walked me to my bike*. These people rock. 2. They've got the goods. I am trying to be Miss Eco Painter here, and they carry a line of no VOC paint, called Acro Pure. Woo! It costs a few bucks extra per gallon, but I don't mind and the paint looks great. They color match. Bring in your auntie's painting of puppies, or a swatch of neat-o fabric, and they make a paint as close as they can to your color. They have a good section of faux painting materials: rollers, crackle stuff, you name it. I used to poo-poo that kind of painting but fell prey to the idea of using *metallic* paint. They have really cool looking mica additive to make sparkles, too. The prices are great for all the accessories like tape, rollers, plastic sheeting, etc. They are knowledgeable about what's useful and can help you find what you need. All in all, Miller Paint offers so much, I highly recommend going there. They made my extremely tiring renovation a little more easy, a lot more bearable. Happy painting. read more

Rodda-Miller Paint - Acro Pure, the no VOC paint. Overflowing (I'm a slob) with an amazingly bright green color. - Paint Stores Near Me - Portland, Oregon

I decided that I wanted to add a chalkboard speech bubble to my props arsenal for the Oh Snap Fauxtobooth! Miller Paint delivered on every level. The clerk was very helpful and even shook up the paint for me on one of those automatic paint shaker things. The service was excellent, the store has a nice layout, and we were in and out of there in 10 minutes. The speech bubble is almost finished. read more

I needed to find matching window shades and from the moment I called Miller Paint and was put in touch with Catherine, my problem was solved. She found the right colour and dealt directly with the company to get the perfect match. she also guided me on how to measure properly and made everything easy. She was professional and every detail was taken care of. I recommend Miller Paint highly. read more

A helpful staff definitely favors contractors of do-it-yourselfers, but that's probably their bread and butter revenue stream. I've been a huge fan of the Evolution and cake-bater thick Devine brands, not sure if they still make the latter. This is a one stop shop with high-touch customer service, prices are in-line for paint stores. Matches have been spot-on. Don't skimp on quality, there is a difference between Glidden, awful Sherman Williams, or anything low cost. Parking is rarely a problem. read more

I bought their "best" paint Miller calls "Evolution" and I am shocked what garbage it is. Understand that I am a European trained painter, specialized in Faux marble, wood gaining and murals and know how to evaluate one paint over the next. After all, the level of even coverage determines how good whatever you put on next is going to look. I also tried their wall paint, sold under the same name and that too is totally inexcusably bad. Low body and terrible coverage and bad adhesion. Many private labels are manufactured by the same companies and sold under various names. I doubt Miller makes their own garbage and I don't understand how they can stay in business. I went to Sherman Williams and got their Pro-Classic and instantly noticed a huge difference in adhesion coating coverage and flow. When I spoke to another customer there he too told me of the nightmares he endured buying stuff from Miller. I don't work for Sherman Williams and anyone is welcome to call me 310-773- Dietrick read more

Love Miller Paint but why are you closed on the weekend?! Doesn't make sense! That's when we work on our houses!

We bought stain for our deck and it was awful when we tried it. I came back to the store expecting to have to buy four new cans. Then Syd came along and saved the day. He suggested adjusting the colour of the existing stain. He spent so much time and was so patient, adjusting colour, testing it, tweaking it and ultimately getting it just right. He went above and beyond to make sure it was just what I wanted. I spent $5 on a plastic bucket to get what I needed. Thank you Syd. We'll be back because of you. read more

I went here on a mission to update one of my companies retail locations. They helped me pick out the right paint, matched my color palette, and recommended the rest of the supplies I would need. They were also patient with me when my company credit card wasn't initially working. Everything worked out great and I'll be back for retial upgrade #2 later this month! Thanks guys! read more

I was very happy with the experience I had at this store. They have several guys working here who are knowledgeable about the products and what type of materials you will need for your home project. There is one blonde man with glasses that is hilariously incompetent. But maybe he is training. It was fun to watch and his coworkers ended up correcting his mistakes. The manager allowed me to use my chinook book coupon on a comparable product because they didn't have the one in stock that my coupon was for. I bought an exterior primer and paint. My friend bought a matte glaze and brush. The prices were right and the sales staff was attentive and you can't beat the location. read more

Rodda-Miller Paint - Paint Stores Near Me - Portland, Oregon

Miller on Interstate is only a few blocks away from us so of we went in to hopefully to get information, help something.. What we got was first ignored treated rudely like we interrupted something even though there was only a few other people in the store. (we have been to other Miller locations and have been treated the same) Then we got a long story of why we need to spend way more - because of our color choice and because of the age of our house.. So we left shopped around found friendly people willing to help, not make us feel stupid and at a reasonable price. It would have been better if we found house painters who bought the paint but that is another story. read more

I've probably been here 4 times before, but we had a particularly excellent time with John today so I thought I'd write a review. He gave us a good explanation and advice on an old fraction of a 5 gallon we had, and tested to decide if it was still good (it was). He was patient while we worked out our math for how much area, and also when I decided I needed to correct the math later. I've been totally satisfied with the product (acro pure) in my previous purchases over the years. Also, advice to readers: grab a chinook book for a coupon that's worth more than the cost of a chinook book. read more

Since this is within walking distance of our home I will be making many trips here. Actually is not much the distance as the terrible paint used in the house we just bought down the street. So far the staff has been friendly but often overwhelmed by contractors. Like other reviewers I have experienced the extended wait times. They do not have the best prices but I am paying for convenience so maybe it comes out in the wash....walking versus gas money.... The best thing I have experienced has been a custom paint mixing based on a couple of samples I brought in. None of the samples they had on display was a good match but the clerk worked it out in few hours for a perfect match. read more

This is more a review of the Miller location on Grand Ave, because I've been there much more often, but the same probably applies to this location (I have been here, but one once or twice). The employees are always helpful and friendly, but there just never seem to be enough of them. Pretty much every time I go into a Miller Paint location I have to wait at least 5-10 minutes before I get helped. They have a pretty good selection of painting supplies and different finishes, but I have to say, their colors SUCK. I mean, big time. If you're looking for anything even remotely subtle color-wise, this is not the place to go. Their paint is fine, and they do color match, so you can always go to Ben Moore (who, even though their paint costs an arm and a leg, by far and away have the best selection of colors out there) or Home Depot and have the colors matched here. But honestly, if you're already at Home Depot, might as well just get the Behr paint, which is cheaper and just as good if not better. I recently had the annoying experience here of trying to secure a quart of Gym Coat (what's that? Think of the finish on a gymnasium floor). I only had a small project, and all they had in the store were gallons, which were $30 or something. So, I asked if they had quarts. Yes, they did, but they were at the warehouse, and had to be transferred. They said they should have it in the next day, and would call me when it came in. I never got a call, and I stopped in a few days later, and the guy kind of looked at me cross-eyed when I told him the story. He said "well, did we call you to say it came in?" I said "No, but the girl said it was meant to come in the next day". "Well, we'll call you when it comes in". A week goes by, still no phone call, so I stop in again. Wait 10 minutes to get helped, talk to the original girl who I talked to in the first place. She has no recollection of me placing the order, and there's no record of the order in the books (despite that I saw her write down the order). She apologizes, re-does the order, and promises left and right, up and down that it should be in tomorrow and she will personally call me when it comes in. Tomorrow comes, no phone call. I finally found the time today to stop in and see what the f* was going on, and...well, the quart HAD finally arrived, it's just that no one bothered to call me. Evidently the original girl had been out sick for a week. Whatever. All's well that ends well, but what a pain in the ass. read more

This is a review for the one on Sandy, and I love this place! I believe that it is worker-owned, and it shows in the way they do business. I went here a number of times when I first moved into my new home. They remembered me and asked about how it was going. Each time, they made sure that I was getting the same paint as I had gotten before. They help you out to your car, which is kind of weird--a throw back to the 50's, but whatever. They do it for men and women alike, so at least it's not sexist. Plus, there were a few times that I just didn't feel like taking them to my car. ONE MORE BONUS: This place is WAY less crowded than the one on Grand, so you get better, quicker service. They also have their own parking lot, so you don't have to try and find a spot in the busy Hollywood area. Oh, and the more environmentally-sound Acro-Pure paint is awesome too! Didn't stink up my house like a lot of other paints do. I highly recommend these nice folks here. read more

Caters to Pro painters. Always understaffed because it is ran like franchise retail. Unless you are knowledgable and are pretty much self serve, you are going to get better service at Home Depot. read more

The staff and products at the Hollywood Store location are exceptional! I have worked on my 71 year old English Tudor home for more years than I care to tell. The staff, and especially the manager, at this store provide superior service and knowledge. This Miller paint shop has excellent service. Can't remember his name, but the guy who looks and sounds like Jonah Hill is very smart and knowledgeable about what paint to use for your projects. They have plenty of color options so price will depend on what quality you want. A standard eggshell will run you $25-30 a gallon and painting is one of the best ways to add some value to your home. read more

I know they're just doing their job and probably following a script but I find it very annoying that *every* time I come in they question me intently about what I intend to do with the paint. I know what I want to do with the paint! I'm not a child. I will ask if I have questions. Please just sell me the paint. It's so annoying that I would shop elsewhere if there were anywhere else with the same range of colours nearby. read more

I'm a loyal Miller customer and never use any other paint. Today however, I just needed one quart and I happened to be at Home Depot, so I bought their Behr paint, which I'd heard was good. I will never use it again. It goes on thick and creamy, but ten minutes later there are drips where you never expected them. I just learned once again how good Miller paint is. read more

We had a new house built about 3 years ago; and Miller paint was used throughout. The interior paint is OK, but the Exterior Paint started molding on the wood surfaces within the 1st year. So far as we know a Miller paint rep has not looked at our problem and we now have a house that needs to be repainted on the outside. The prep for repainting will also be a real task to get the mold off, which is now very noticeable. read more
