Interior of Thai location, super clean!
Julia S.

This is my go to place for paint! Currently working on some DIY projects and have visited this location a handful of times this past month. I am always impressed by how knowledgeable and friendly the staff are! This location is super clean, and I can tell that they are taking safety of customers and staff seriously.

True fact: White walls are boring. The swatch wall is beautifully varied and full of practical colors with curious names. I chose "Lemon Poppy Cake" which is a dark golden yellow shade. "Praise Giving" gray made it's way on my walls as well. Miller Paint had a 2 for 1 Chinook Book coupon, which is a $40 savings! Upon presenting my coupon, I was told Rodda Paint's 2 for 1 coupon would be honored here, too. Ohh so sneaky! Employees are helpful without being pushy. I will definitely return here for all my interior paint needs.

I used this paint 10 years ago and again yesterday!

Best paint store in Portland. The staff is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. If you need anything related to paint, go to Miller first.

I looked through endless books of wallpaper, got many samples, and never felt unwelcome or that I was a bother.

Somehow a cleaning product with bleach that I used around my shower tiles bleached the wall color as well. It was Sherwin Williams paint done by a contractor about 6 years ago. I told the sales guy what I needed it for and said a sample size should be plenty for what I needed. He failed to mention that the samples aren't actually real paint and are designed to peel off the walls. I found that out when I looked it up online. I came back today to ask for a refund credit towards buying real paint. A different employee helped me and after some back and forth where he said mixed paint is not returnable he agreed to give me a credit towards buying a small container of paint. He said he "took a bunch of money off." When I got the mixed paint and looked at the receipt he had taken $1.72 off - 15% off the painters tape I also bought and nothing off the paint. The sample was $11. Stay far away from this store, these guys are dishonest. I'm sure they are having a nice laugh at my expense. Give your money to a store that treats customers with respect and buy your paint somewhere else. I recommend Powell Paint.

But, when it came time to do some touch-up paint on our 1928 bungalow, we decided to use the same brand that had been used by the previous owner: Rodda. Luckily, we had some old paint cans on hand, so Rodda was able to make us new gallons of paint to the same specifications as the old paint. The new Rodda paint is, of course, bolder and brighter than the aged paint. But it still looks really good. Even better, the Rodda applied like butter! It self-leveled, leaving very few drip marks. (Our beloved Sherwin Williams trim paint, on the other hand, left a ton of drip marks and imperfections.) The Rodda cured really well, even though we were applying it in rare dry spells during a rainy and cold fall. We're huge fans of Rodda now, and will use them for all our exterior paint in future!
