At least that'll save others from dealing with the egotistical, arrogant, and outright RUDE employees that work here. I also don't want to make this a race thing, but let's just say, I haven't seen him (or his other employees) treat his white customers this way. We now have a formal room & specialize in prom dresses & mother of the bride/groom gowns. We do not accept many brands & Forever 21 is one of them. We may seem expensive to experienced thrift shop shoppers because we are not a thrift (which operates on donations)but an upscale ladies consignment shop. We went to VIP fashion and Edward made sure that my daughter found exactly what she was looking for. We had a slight issue and it could've gone either way. Edward did the right thing which is very hard to come by these days. My daughter and I left the store with smiles on our faces feeling like we got treated like queens. However, some of the beads fell off when I tried it on at home 2 days before the event. When I returned to the store, I was told all sales were final. The seamstress was very kind and offered to fix it, but I didn't trust the dress would hold up. What really shocked me was how I was treated. A staff member (or owner?) accused me of lying about and when I bought it, insisting it must be old and that I'd already worn it. Thinking of replacing the dress, I tried on a few other dresses, and was told there was "no way" I could be the smaller size I mentioned, even though the larger dresses were all way too big on me. Overall, the service was unprofessional and unnecessarily rude. I left feeling disappointed and disrespected--definitely not the experience you'd expect when buying something special. There were some nice/kind staff people but not enough to make up for the rudeness and being accused of lying. updated based on BS's comments: the dress was in fact not fixed to perfection and I ended up sewing a column of beads on the dress after it was fixed. In my opinion, not so much, when every single member of the wedding party, including the Groom, and the father of the Groom had goof ups consisting of missing pieces and wrong sizing. Not to mention, when the suits arrived they called the Groom to let everyone know they could pick them up, not like the Groom doesn't have ten thousand other things to do the week of the wedding. Everyone was measured by the staff. Almost every shirt was mis-sized either way too big or too small, the Grooms shirt was outright missing. They did musical shirts and vests right up till Thursday when the wedding was Friday. If it weren't for a phenomenal wedding party being patient and running back and forth to the shop the groomsmen would not have been suited up. In the end the staff was friendly and apologetic and everything worked out but the stress it caused on the couple the week of the wedding was unnecessary. Fortunately our Bride was no Bridezilla and she politely smiled though the whole fiasco, but as for us we would not recommend The Men's and Boys Store for an important event simply for the reason that just because it worked out this time it may not in the future. I'm giving 3 stars because the Bride did not want me to go any lower than that and as a supporting MIL I will do as she requests.
