There was something so special about Ashley's Bridal, that I had to come back after my initial appointment. I visited right before Christmas with my mom and one of my bridesmaids. Connie, who also happens to be the seamstress, was my consultant that day. She asked to see my inspiration photos and proceeded to pull dresses she thought might suit me from the racks. The overall vibe of the store, dress selections and fantastic customer service were quite impressive. It also smells HEAVENLY inside. It's obvious that they pride themselves on keeping it immaculate. Yesterday, I said yes to a dress I tried on at my first appointment. The owner John was so accommodating and squeezed me in with just one day's notice when I requested to come in and re-try my favorite dress. When I arrived, he greeted me with a big smile. I went to Ashley's Bridal on my first day of dress shopping and ended up finding my dress that day. My sister had been dress shopping the year prior and I had visited nearly every bridal salon in the area with her but had never been to Ashley's. We stopped in as our 2nd store of the day having learned a lot about what I was really looking for from the previous store. When we met our consultant at Ashley's, I explained the dress details I had figured out that I really liked. She listened carefully, pulled one or two pieces, and then walked us over to another dress that she thought would be perfect for my beach wedding. The dress could not have been more perfect for what I was looking for. It checked nearly every single box that I had. However, I was nervous about buying my dress on the first day of shopping. I went home to think about it and scheduled an appointment to go back the next week with my entourage. Their salon isn't huge but they rearranged some furniture and accommodated my group of 6 girls. I said yes and we popped champagne! Even now as we wait for my dress to come in, Connie has been on the search for the perfect veil to go along with my gown and has been committed to finding the right veil with the right quality. I visited two other highly rated bridal boutiques and spent the whole day trying on so many dresses, but unfortunately was very disappointed in what I found- one shop told me I would have to have a dress custom designed to get what I envisioned. I left the second boutique early and stopped at Ashley's Bridal on my way home on a whim, not thinking I would find anything. I showed John a picture of the top of a dress that I liked and described what I wanted and he pulled out the exact dress that I had dreamed about! He showed me many other beautiful dresses, too. I went to Ashley's Bridal on a whim, visiting home with my mother in hopes that we could start my dress search there. I am happy to report that I started and finished my search in one day there with Connie! While their inventory isn't monstrous, they have a wonderful assortment of dresses, for all price points, and sizes! As a size 16 I was really dreading going into a store and potentially fitting into nothing. Instead I fit into a ton of dresses and found THE ONE! Connie immediately made me to feel comfortable and it was entirely a non-issue! The dresses that she picked were also spot on - different silhouettes I would've never tried were amazing! Connie also helped me experiment with accessories, explained tailoring and customization options, and finished it off with some photos of me in my dress that she shared with my mom and I. Granted, I am a well endowed girl who is trim and shapely. I am usually a size 14 in a dressy dress and although 5'7" tall I never NEVER order extra length. When measured by the professional tailor at the shop, I made it perfectly clear not to order the dress larger than a 14 and no extra length. You guessed it. I picked up the dress and it is a size 18 with extra length emblazoned on its special order tag. My grandmother makes every dress fit and even she, our own personal "dress surgeon" said to return the dress! TOO LATE! I am so late in leaving this review, which is shameful because Ashley's Bridal was just incredible to us. Dress shopping is not my thing. I waited until a bit too late to search for a dress. Every other shop I went told me it was too late. Not Ashley's: they worked with me to find the right dress from a designer who could deliver. They perform their own alterations, which is just the best. She is an expert tailor, and kind and funny. I never felt uncomfortable trying on dresses. The process was private and she was lovely. My grandmother was sick during the process, and died shortly before my wedding. This caused delays in fittings, and made for an even more difficult process for Ashley's Bridal. Not once did they complain. I'll never forget that she hugged me and carried on, without any concerns for the timing. I knew she would make it happen - and she did. I could never express in words how wonderful everyone at Ashley's was. You will find they are different from all of the other dress shops. The dresses are more lovely, higher quality, and yet more affordable. But it's the people who will have you writing another review like mine. Cannot say enough about this establishment. In looking for a bridal gown for my daughter we gave this place a try...WOW were we impressed. John was the most knowledgeable and enthusiastic consultant. He listened to my daughters likes and dislikes and zoned in on the perfect dress. Ashley's Bridal gets another two stars from me when it came around to bridemaid dress shopping. I really appreciate how helpful and laid back they are here. I wanted my bridemaids to pick their own dress, but since I also wanted the same color/shade, I had decide on a specific designer. I originally wanted to get all the dresses at Ashley's, but unfortunately, they didn't have many sample dresses to try on from the designer I picked, so most of my bridesmaids ended up getting their dresses at another store, except one. When we were all set to order, the other store told me one of the dresses was recently (like in the last week) discontinued. I called around to other stores and was told the same thing, but Ashley's was the only one that took the time to call the manufacturer and found out that the dress could still be ordered. It was just this past weekend my friend found her wedding dress here. It was the same dress she tried on at another bridal store. She loved it, but it was over her budget. John (the owner) and the sales associate (forgot her name) was very helpful to us. He was willing to negotiate the pricing, which was awesome. John was also willing to give more of a discount if I, & along with all the other bridesmaids, got our dresses there. The place is a bit small & there were not many bridesmaids dresses to look through, but I would definitely return in the future to shop for my wedding dress. Yayyyyyyyyyyy! I am a HUGE fan of Ashley's Bridal! It all started when I called looking for an impossible to find dress. The owner answered the phone, told me he didn't have the dress but that he had a lot from that designer that I may like.... so, I made an appointment. Danielle was my sales associate. Absolutely FABULOUS! Helpful, nice, knowledgeable and personable. She made me feel comfortable and helped me pick out dresses that flattered my figure and were close to what I had described. She was able to give me pros and cons to every dress and help my mom and I decide if we liked it. I will be purchasing my dress from Ashley's with complete confidence that they will take care of me. I was hoping that they would be able to discount my dress a little, but hey, I get it, designer is designer.... and they did have it at the lowest price anyway. This is one of the most helpful places I've been so far... I'm in my brothers wedding in a couple of months and I heard about this place from a friend. I'm the last person in the world who wants to go fitted for a Tux but John was really helpful. He knows his stuff. I actually felt really comfortable working with him. He helped me find the exact Tuxedo we were supposed to get in minutes. If I could Ashley's 100 stars, I would! I really can't say enough great things about them. They were fantastic through the whole process and made it really enjoyable to buy a wedding dress for someone that is not a size 8. At my first appointment, I tried on several gowns and Connie explained how each of the dress cuts fit me and the differences between them. The best thing about this place is that they open up the back of their sample dresses so that you can see what the dresses look like on you even if you aren't a size 8. They care more about more about making their customers happy than keeping samples in tack to sell them later. All of my bridesmaids got their dresses there too. And with my luck we had settled on Alfred Angelo dresses. Two months after we ordered our dresses, Alfred Angelo went out of business. The day the story broke, John was on the phone with me explaining that Alfred Angelo went out of business and the chances of receiving the dresses were not good (before I even read anything online). However they would move our down payments to any other dress in the store. So I know that Ashley's Bridal was probably out money, but my bridal was not and I am eternally grateful for that. When I found my dream dress, it was sleeveless. And although, I loved everything about the dress but I really wanted to sleeves. Connie ordered sleeves from the designer and made sleeves for my dress. They looked that they had always been part of the dress and they were beautiful! Wow. My sister and I both got our wedding dresses at Ashley's bridal. Don't be fooled by the exterior, this place is great! My sister bought her dress from here less than a month before her wedding and Connie even altered it down 8 sizes. I got my dress here and she altered it down 10 sizes in no time and it fit perfectly. Connie is so talented, humble, and relaxed. She's not one of those pushy salespeople, but she instead makes you feel comfortable and allows you browse without hovering. Their prices are great and they carry absolutely stunning dresses. I highly recommend! Even if you don't buy your dress here, I'd highly recommend this place for alterations as Connie is an excellent seamstress. read more

Allow me to share with everyone how i believe this shop is not as forthcoming as they would want everyone to believe. If I could have given them zero stars I absolutely would have. I went to meet John who greeted me nicely, I believe that we had wonderful conversations leading up to my appointment, while I was there he did take good care of me and to the point I thought I found my dress, it looked nice and though I had a little doubt, went ahead and said yes because I felt that, my brother needed to call with payment anyway and this would give me the time needed to really be sure, so I left a $100 to what I thought was refundable because he knew my brother would be calling with the full payment on that Monday (we visited that Saturday before and was his very last appointment) though i said yes, once we left and we drove around for 30 minutes to give me time to think, my friend and I drove back to this store to say I have changed my mind, I dont think it is the right dress for me but the store was closed, so I thought well tomorrow (Sunday) is a new day and I might feel differently, well Sunday morning comes and I am still feeling like this is not the dress, I am thinking, its the next day, he didnt lose a sale, he didnt have to call and make any special arrangements, i took no alteration measurements, because he had to wait for my brother to call with the full payment prior to anything being ordered etc. On Sunday, I left not only a message but I text John to say, this is Sunday, the very next day, I have changed my mind on the dress, On MONDAY, the same, I called to make sure he knew that I did not want the dress. Well I tried to get my money back, how about this gentleman would NOT give me my money back, but said he would see me again to find something else. Seriously! why would I even try to find something else there, when clearly I didnt find it on my first appointment with them, then he said okay you can come and spend it in credit at the store, I said I would but the gentleman would not give me full credit of $100 dollars. I am literally very very upset and would NEVER trust this shop for anything, the insensitivity I feel this is being handled with is very hurtful and my timeline for my dress is running out, John knew my budget was very tight and yet he is withholding my deposit. Very sneaky and very distasteful. I will keep posting on my dissatisfaction about this store and they are luck there isnt a Corporate Headquarters to my knowledge, but will keep looking to report them, I will also make a report to BBB and instagram. read more

I checked out this place with a few of my bridesmaids and it was FILTHY. I didn't even want to take my shoes off. I made an appointment and was ushered into a small room with three other brides to be. Some were half dressed, and another was having her "Aha" moment. The attendant stepped away from one bride in mid changing mode and motioned to me where I could "pull" my own gowns. The dresses were stained, the bags were ripped, and I could not imagine getting changed in the 2 by 3 dressing room with merely a sheer curtain. While it is customary to have only a limited number of dresses to try on, 25 is unacceptable. What's worse is that I received no assistance putting on or taking off the dress (no wonder they are so dirty). I say stay very very very far away. It was a waste of a trip. Wedding days are far too important to be downgraded to this level. read more

So, I've been in about 25 weddings and I've never had an issue with any bridesmaid dresses until dealing with Ashley Bridal. My friend ordered brown dresses for her wedding with ivory sashes. When the dresses arrived, they were not only a month late but also all brown. The shop offered to order the ivory sashes, but that would have required each bridesmaid to have the new sash attached on her own & we were running out of time since the dresses were late. The bride then inquired about just using some broaches she saw. You would think that since the bridal shop messed up the order, they would have bought us the boraches but they told her they would give them to her for a discount. To top that off, one of the bridesmaid dresses was ordered a size too small and a bridesmaid had to not participate in the wedding because of it. In addition, one of the girls got shoes from the shoppe. Her shoes came in fine, but when she was paying she overheard another bride in a panic because her groomsmen's tuxedo's weren't in as of Thursday for a Saturday Wedding. They told her this "never happens." I wouldn't work with this bridal shoppe unless you are prepared to be disappointed. read more

I went to Ashley's Bridal to look for dresses--I was interested in maggie sottero's, and they have a BIG supply of them. I was one of the only brides in the shop and the consultant was very helpful--she did a great job at listening to my feedback and then pulling dresses I might actually like instead of only dresses she thinks look good. Unlike some other shops, they corset you up fully (you know, as you would expect to get the full effect of whether or not you like the dress?) and that was an interesting experience. I was told to brace myself against the wall while she tugged the corset tight. The odd thing was that they put the dresses on me from behind--I guess to make it less awkward and avoid staring at your girly parts? They were the only dress store I've visited to take this approach. They were very responsive via email and had a good turn around for inquiries. I was very satisfied with their email customer service. My only concern is that: BUYER BEWARE, their website says they're authorized to sell 100's of designers that they do not have samples of in store, however, after being told that they could order a gown from a particular high-end designer, I immediately called that designer's flagship store in NYC to make sure it was legitimate because the designer website did not have Ashley's listed as an authorized seller. I was immediately warned by the designer that Ashley's is unauthorized to sell their gowns and they can't guarantee what I'll get if I choose to buy from Ashley's. I'm absolutely NOT saying that everything should be questioned at Ashley's--they are certainly authorized to sell Maggie Sottero and other lines legitimately and have a really wide selection of gowns. Just do your homework first if they offer you a quote for a dress designer not listed in their main inventory. read more

I am a bridesmaid in a wedding next September and I will say Ashley's bridal was a dream come true! We searched four different dress shops before we found Ashley's and nothing in the other stores came close to the great selection that Ashley's had. The one shop did not have any dresses for under $500 dollars and that is insane for just a bridesmaid dress. The other stores really did not have a great selection for our budget and they we just could not find something we all agreed on and that the bride liked so our search continued. We marched on and found Ashley's bridal and right from the start we fell in love! The dresses were so reasonable between $100-$200 dollars and the selection was fabulous! We each picked a few we liked and we found one we all agreed on. It cost $150 dollars and is beautiful... it is a chiffon, strapless, full length gown. We ordered the dresses in October and they arrived in January so the turn a round time is not too crazy. Overall great experience and great selection. My only complaint is the dressing room and the way it is set up. Everything is very tight and if there are a lot of people trying things on it can get pretty hectic. I felt bad for a bride who was there trying to squeeze by everyone to make her way to the mirror which is all the way at the other end of the room where all of the dresses are. So you have to keep walking back and forth and if people are browsing the dress rack then its hard to squish by in a big ol" wedding dress. They need to move things around a bit. I recently got my wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses from Ashley's Bridal. I would like to start off with that I love my wedding dress, it's absolutely beautiful. My bridesmaid dresses were also a beautiful color and they fit each of my bridesmaids well, no matter what body type they are flattering. I had a great experience with ordering my dress and the girls' dresses but had a personal contact working there so I have her to thank for that. John and Connie are very nice, cheerful people but I have to say that every time I went in to get fitted I felt like I was left to figure out how to do things myself like put the dress on, zipper it up and what not. There was always another bride or two in there getting fitted at the same time I went so I always had to wait before, during and after my appointment (to check out my bridesmaid dresses or accessories or whatever) and ended up being there for an hour or two each trip when it should have taken me 30 min. What bugged me the most about Ashley's bridal was not the tiny, grungy looking dressing rooms or the lack of explanations about the alterations or timeframes but it was the owners' forgetfulness and minimalist customer service attitudes. Today I went to pick up my dress for my final fitting and to take it home with me (a few days before the wedding) and the cups weren't sewn in, the dress wasn't steamed and the shoes weren't even dyed yet. I tried my dress on then waited for an hour and a half while my cups were sewn in, shoes were dyed and my dress and veil (which was the wrong veil that I didn't order but I got stuck with anyway) were steamed. I cannot stand people's disregard for others' time. It's like they just forgot or didn't care to be prepared ahead of time. My time is precious like theirs and I expect that a small business that deals mainly in weddings understand this and be a little more concerned with their customer service. I was totally annoyed and upset leaving my appointment because my wedding was only days away. I am disgusted and would not recommend this shop to anyone. I had made this appointment a couple of weeks ago and actually rescheduled it a few days later due to my work schedule and when I got there the fact that the owners didn't have my dress, cups and shoes even close to ready really aggravated me. Like I said my time is important as well especially in the final week before my wedding. My shoes ended up being the wrong color and I was in tears and emailed John about it. Without question they dyed another pair and shipped them out to me overnight. He told me to keep the first pair in case I wanted to dye them black. The second pair were the right color and they arrived the day before the wedding thankfully. I appreciated that they corrected the issue but had the shoes been dyed ahead of time and not been rushed through the week of the wedding, this wouldn't have happened in the first place. I am sad to say my experience with this shop has given me unnecessary stress for our big deal. Although they have a great selection and Connie does beautiful alterations, personally I would spare yourself the headache for your big day and avoid going here. read more

I had a terrible experience at Ashley's Bridal. First, the selection is not that great. Second, it felt like a really cramped space and people were constantly bumping into one another and having to share the one mirror that you can try things on in front of. There are no mirrors in the dressing rooms so I wasted a ton of time showing my family dresses that I would have otherwise just taken off right away and not wasted the precious mirror time with. The clients all seemed kind of trashy and the sales person that helped me just kept talking about how she has been so stressed about moving in with her fiance and that she really should have been at home packing that day. She really put on high pressure for me to buy and when I left without purchasing anything she could not have cared less about me. She actually abandoned me at the end of my appointment because "her next appointment was about to show up." I would not recommend going here at all. If you're looking to buy a nice gown for a reasonable price, go to Sabrina Ann in Ardmore, PA. Totally worth the trip and all dresses are like half the price or less of what you would pay in most bridal salons because their dresses are either samples or once worn but in fantastic condition. read more

I bought a bridesmaid's dress here in ivory because I couldn't afford a regular wedding dress. Staff routinely was late with all alterations. When I went to pick up the dress (a long drive for me, an hour each way), I was told it wasn't ready after all. When I asked why, I was told that I hadn't spent enough money, so I wasn't a real client. When I brought it home to try it on, there was a large stain on the skirt. I brought it to a tailor to have it fitted as I did not want to give them any more of my money. Zero stars!!!! Save yourself by going to another bridal store. I sent my bridesmaids here for gowns as Ashley bridal was the only local store who carried the designer/style I wanted. Not only were we mislead on the arrival time of the gowns which turned out to be 4 weeks before the wedding but the gowns were all mis sized and each girl needs major alterations. I was originally told the gowns would be in on time leaving 3-4 months for each girl to get "minor" alterations. Now they are rushing around to get the dresses to fit them appropriately. The owners only solution was to bring the dresses back and have his wife alter the gowns for an additional fee. Each gown needs to be taken in multiple sizes and over 6 inches of length that he added additional length on to the gowns. Additionally money my friends have to pay that they didn't have too. I also ordered fabric for my florist through Kevin. I was originally quoted about "$20" for the piece of fabric. When I picked it up he charged me $80 for it. He is very dishonest and a terrible businessman. Save yourself the headache. Go somewhere else ! Who knows how they are still in business after reading all the bad reviews. Absolutely disgraceful.
