I love going to Rocky Mount Smilemakers whenever I need work done. Just had my annual cleaning and its nice to have one completed where they are gentle and you dont come out feeling like you just took a shower. Ive been going here several years and when ive needed things done have never felt pressured by the staff. They let me know their recommendations and then I complete on my timeline unless its obvious something needs to be done sooner rather than later. The staff always make you feel welcome and at ease. Posting for my husband, Daniel Byrd, 'Normally I would give a good review as I have had services provided for about a year, but on this day, this Dentist lost my business, as she did my wife's in a similar scenario. On this day I merely mentioned the problem I had in post op pain from a procedure she did and Dr. Zembeck, who refuses to provide pain medication or antibiotics, reacted with a 'take or leave it attitude'. When you tell a patient who simply wants to get good dental care that "...maybe we aren't the provider for you.", you are inviting the patient to disappear in a my way or the highway scenario. I chose to disappear. This Dentist on this day attempted to extol her own credentials and knowledge while belittling and berating me for having gone elsewhere to immediately deal with an infection and pain I believe her office caused. She even impugned the knowledge and experience of my own primary care doctor when dealing with my post op issues, with an attitude of superiority and condescension. This Dentist exhibited no empathy, made no attempt to discuss my concerns and fear of post op pain, made no attempt to connect with me, except to say that I "demanded" of them a course of pain management provided by other dental providers, which wasn't true. To sum it all up, I feel this Dentist on this day acted arrogant, self centered, self aggrandizing and emotional, made no attempt to "hear me", and was only interested in putting forward her own belittling, screechy, know it all attitude. As she walked out of the room and I was preparing to leave, this Dentist even invited me to have my dental records sent elsewhere for continued care, as of I didn't know this. Not a professional attitude in my opinion. Not at all.' read more

This place was good . I mean good good. I felt like they wanted me there. They were so nice. Not fake. That Courtney so down the earth and smart! That cute receptionist was too funny. I took so many new age technology pics of my teeth. My teeth were the star ! They broke it down honey about them teeth. This place is very reasonable and my teeth feel awesome! The dentists are a mother and daughter team so cool, Right!! Go to this place appointments are at least a month out but so worth it ! read more

Wow, what an amazing feeling it is to actually be comfortable and relaxed during my dental appointment. If I could give more stars, I would. Dr. Hanna Zombek has been my dentist for over five years and she has made all the difference for me! Prior to her, I had so much anxiety about going to the dentist that I would put it off for as long as I could. My first appointment with Dr. Zombek I was feeling embarrassed and scared to have someone look at my teeth knowing that I needed a lot of work done. She sat me down and explained everything to me in language I actually understood. I truly am grateful to no longer feel embarrassed or anxious about my dental health. She has a bubbly and friendly personality paired with an immense knowledge of all things teeth and health. Dr. Hanna Zombek is incredibly thorough and loves to explain exactly what is going on. She will take the time to spend with you to make sure you understand everything (I've never known a dentist to spend extra time). I recently had to get a crown and she uses the numbing gel, then a numbing injection that doesn't sting (because it's close to the pH of your mouth-she told me that!) and then she uses the one that stings, only now you can't feel it!!! She and her staff are fun and passionate and great at their jobs. They feel like friends and I am so thankful! Unfortunately, that same tooth needed a root canal. She referred me to an endodontist who completed the procedure. He completed it while my crown was off, and when he put it back, my bite was off. This caused even more pain. Dr. Zombek was very patient in trying to make the new placement of the old crown work, but it needed to be replaced. Since I had just recently gotten it from her, she replaced it at no cost to me. She is an exceptional provider who truly loves her work. She cares about the whole patient. She takes her time and educates so the patient can make the best choice for them. I've moved around a lot and had a ton of different dentists, but Dr. Hanna Zombek is by far the best. Thank you for the excellent care! read more

The best dentist I have ever been to. Smilemakers was thorough and pain free during my cleaning with a great and friendly staff. The technology they have is amazing as they are able to show you all of your teeth in real time x-rays and for me I was happy to see how surprisingly well I have been keeping them. This dentist is the absolute best I've ever been to. I am and have always been terrified of the dentist and doctors. I am afraid of needles, however, I got up the nerve and the money to have complete oral surgery and they gave me the most beautiful smile ever. The entire staff is wonderful, kind and courteous. The dentists are lovely. The billing people, however, leave much to be desired. They bill beyond what their insurance contract allows, and you must show them and ask repeatedly for a refund. You won't always get it. You need to know insurance really well and be willing to revisit the topic repeatedly if you don't want to be ripped off. Fortunately, I have been able to help others avoid this problem by showing them how to find the list of other providers. If you don't have insurance, you won't have to worry about it. read more
