The Rest stops are beautiful and maintained well. I wish the rest stops in the rest of the country, were just the same. The women's restroom was clean and orderly.

A morning of driving and such, it was time to take a break and this rest area fit the bill perfectly. Easy to access and find a parking space in a bit of shade for a quick nap. After that, a visit to the (clean) restrooms and we walked around a little bit before continuing on towards West Virginia. [Review 532 of 2025 - 1472 in Virginia - 24093 overall]

Really nice rest area with great family restrooms (with toddler size toilets), lots of walking space and areas for pups. Plus plenty of vending and picnic tables.

One of the nicest rest areas ever. So clean and big. The building sits far enough away from the parking lot, plenty of room for picnics and walls to get stretch on the road. There is plenty of parking available. This is one of those places where you feel safe to pull over and rest for a little while. The parking areas are well lit, with not only light on the parking areas but the paths to the building as well. The picnic areas are covered under shelters so you can avoid the sun/light rain as necessary. It has the normal vending machines that seem to be well stocked and taken care of. Enjoy a nice break on I-77.

Huge expanse on the way north with ample room for cars and trucks and acres of land for pets and children to run (please clean up after your charges.) Parking is generous with an abundance of accessible spots around the second sidewalk - the one without stairs. The structures are solid and well kept. Picnic tables fill the landscape so you can stretch your legs before supping. The actual facilities are pretty slick and updated; self watering everything and hot air drying when you need it (but you still have to do your own paperwork.)

We stopped at this rest area on the way to Cleveland, Ohio. It was clean and a nice place to take a break. Inside was a lobby type area with seating and brochures to take with you. The lobby and bathrooms were well lit. The parking lot could have used more lights, but it was one of the nicest rest areas we stopped at.

    It was good !

I had a bottle of hand sanitizer in the passenger door trough and it had tipped over and drained into the door. The smell was making me sick but a quick pick up Into a small trash bag and wiping with paper towels fixed the problem. This looks like a nice stop if we needed to stretch our legs or use the restroom but we hadn't traveled far enough for that kind of use.

Reviewed 1 year ago with this...A nice place to stop for a break when traveling south on I-95…read moreAccording to the North Carolina Department of Transportation website there are nine welcome centers and over 50 rest areas throughout the state. You can download a list from their website and get a lot of good information detailing their locations. The purpose of the rest area is just that, to get a break from the drive, use the restroom, and possibly get a snack. Per their website, "Loitering, camping, soliciting, consuming alcoholic beverages and staying overnight are prohibited. North Carolina's Rest Areas." This one is off the right (west) side of the interstate when traveling south on I-95. The truck parking is closest to the road and the car parking is farthest from the road. There are two car lots and plenty of parking. The building and area look brand new. There are two single-story buildings separated by a covered walkway. One is the welcome center and the other is the restrooms. The restroom building has an open lobby with some very pretty terrazzo designs on the floor. The bathrooms were very clean and it was a nice place to stop. Overall, it was a nice place for a break and I will stop there again if I am passing through and want to stretch my legs or refresh myself on the drive. Enjoy. Added one picture to Google

On my last trip down, towing a very fully loaded trailer behind my RAM Rebel 1500 pickup, At about 12 midnight, I had a trailer tire blow out just after gettin on I-77 from I-81. I called the I-81 travel plaza for roadside assistance. The mechanic on duty was Don. He arrived at my location a couple hours later as he was out on another service call when I called. He brought a new trailer tire, made sure my damaged rim was good after getting the blown tire off. It took him a while, but he got me back on the road and I arrived at my destination in SC safely. The service was GREAT, Don was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. If I had to find a negative something to comment on, it would be charging me $125 for a $76 tire, and $293 for the service. It is what it is and they know they have you by the short curly hairs in your nether region, so they really over charge you. Also, they do not take credit cards or checks, so they will follow you to the next exit and wait for you at the ATM. It can really be expected. I'm sure they've been screwed out of payment by so E people so they make sure you're not gonna beat them out of their due, even if it is exorbitant. Lesson learned: don't hit the road without a good spare and the proper tools. Would I recommend them? In a pinch, ABSOLUTELY. Don was awesome and very diligent about all his work. Thank you I-81 travel plaza and THANK YOU Don M.

We were impressed with all the complimentary snack offerings upon arrival. The beds were standard, comfy, and clean. We had a nice little mountain view and it was a cute area. The tub in the shower didn't have a drain plug and looked like it needed to be painted badly, and the water pressure was very weak, that was the only downside, but not a huge deal for an overnight. We'd definitely stay here again when in Princeton.

This trip was no different--after a seven-hour road trip, the four of us (plus my service dog) rolled in, dreaming of a quick swim and some relaxation. Spoiler alert: that dream died fast. We used the Hilton app to check in, but I went down to the desk for a second key so my husband and I could both access the room and amenities. I gave my room number, and--without asking for my name, ID, or even confirming I belonged there--the employee just handed me a key and said, "Have a good night." I'm sorry, WHAT? That's not customer service, that's a security disaster waiting to happen. We stayed in room 504, where we were greeted by a musty, dirty odor strong enough to knock you backward. The room looked like it hadn't seen a dust cloth in years. The bathtub? Absolutely disgusting. Several light bulbs were out. The beds were lumpy and uncomfortable, the whole place felt like a tropical rainforest with the humidity, and the Wi-Fi (which I need for my work as a REALTOR®) didn't connect at all. To top it off, the shower had no hot water, and by morning, I'd developed a sore throat. The pool was supposed to be our redemption moment. Instead, an interior light fixture came loose while my kids were in the water. We immediately got them out and told the staff. Two hours later, the pool was still open and people were still swimming like nothing happened. Because apparently, here, safety hazards double as "added ambiance." Then there's the "pet relief" area--a 5x5 patch of grass that looked like a landmine field of other dogs' poop, with shards of glass scattered throughout. The bag dispensers were empty, not that I didn't bring my own. My poor service dog deserves better than that. And just when I thought I'd seen it all, I spotted exposed wires on the 5th floor, seemingly connected to a security camera. Nothing says "welcome" quite like loose electrical wiring. The one and only pleasant surprise? Breakfast. It was actually good--shockingly good, given everything else. Unfortunately, one decent meal doesn't erase the fact that this stay was dirty, unsafe, uncomfortable, and far below the standard Hilton promises, especially for Diamond members.
