    Welcoming fire place

This Welcome Center is located in a picturesque setting near the the border of Virginia and North Carolina. The Center has a building dedicated to information. I picked up a map. The clerk was friendly and helpful. There is some local art, history and comfy seating around a fire place. A separate building houses restroom facilities. The restrooms were spotless and the staff was super friendly. A third building houses vending machines. There are covered picnic tables, places to walk the dog or just hang out. Access is easy on and off.

I was traveling to NC on the first leg of my trip to my parents in Ohio. It was time for a bathroom break. What a beautifully placed welcome center! The grounds were gorgeous! I found a shady parking spot as my dog was traveling with me. I had to walk a lot further to the restroom, but I needed the exercise, lol. The restrooms were clean and served their purpose. I had to walk up several steps to the building. There were some picnic tables under shade trees for eating or relaxing throughout the property. I also saw a dog section for giving your fur baby a break. I'm going to remember this rest stop for future trips home!

Crossing over from Virginia on I-77 and heading towards Charlotte, this welcome center is a nice spot to stop for a quick break. There are rest rooms, a pet walking area and a display of local accommodations and tourism attractions. Definitely worth checking out. There is a large parking area. Clean, thank you very much! COVID-19 guidelines clearly promoted, although like all rest areas, nobody is enforcing them. There are clearly marked entrances and exits. In addition, on this winter day it was obvious that salt had been put down and sidewalks cleared and signs warning of slippery surfaces placed along the sidewalks. While it isn't the newest rest area and the information area was closed (no free maps at 6:30pm), it is welcoming to pets and their people. It's good to be back in our home state! Be certain to check brakes before entering the rest area!

A very nice welcome center that has clean bathrooms, vending machines, lots of parking, areas to walk around and get the wiggles out or stretch your legs. There is a nice visitor center with friendly, helpful staff, lots of brochures, and some good old fashioned maps for those of you who don't have smart phone.

On my last trip down, towing a very fully loaded trailer behind my RAM Rebel 1500 pickup, At about 12 midnight, I had a trailer tire blow out just after gettin on I-77 from I-81. I called the I-81 travel plaza for roadside assistance. The mechanic on duty was Don. He arrived at my location a couple hours later as he was out on another service call when I called. He brought a new trailer tire, made sure my damaged rim was good after getting the blown tire off. It took him a while, but he got me back on the road and I arrived at my destination in SC safely. The service was GREAT, Don was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. If I had to find a negative something to comment on, it would be charging me $125 for a $76 tire, and $293 for the service. It is what it is and they know they have you by the short curly hairs in your nether region, so they really over charge you. Also, they do not take credit cards or checks, so they will follow you to the next exit and wait for you at the ATM. It can really be expected. I'm sure they've been screwed out of payment by so E people so they make sure you're not gonna beat them out of their due, even if it is exorbitant. Lesson learned: don't hit the road without a good spare and the proper tools. Would I recommend them? In a pinch, ABSOLUTELY. Don was awesome and very diligent about all his work. Thank you I-81 travel plaza and THANK YOU Don M.

I've been in this business a long time and they tried to tell me I had a special tire. mind you I've been buying these 245/70/17.5 for low deck trailers for years. never paid $850 per tire. Stay away from these crooks. I was also told they gotta pay for all them expensive toys they keep buying. Crooks.
