Having a couple of new puppies who could potentially be around sick animals is a bit nerve-racking. The office was extremely clean, as was the examination room. We waited less than five minutes and were taken back. Both puppies were weighed and giving their shots without a whimper. Then came the worming medicine, which was no issues there either. The veterinarian came in and examined both puppies separately. He was very thorough. He was just as pleasant as the nurse was, and it was very obvious they loved what they did! I highly recommend this vet!

We were treated well and the vet took his time with us to answer our questions and explain options…read morethat were financially pragmatic. Additionally, unnecessary tests were not even discussed; whereas, the last vet we went to would automatically need to do cultures and blood panels at the cost of hundreds of dollars. Instead, based on observation via the exam and the symptoms and behavior we described, we were given a prescription to try. This did the trick and the concerns have not only resolved; but it seems our dog is feeling better and is on the mend. The only cause of concern was aseptic techniques were not observed but when questioned the vet was quick to acknowledge and left the room to wash up and resolve the issue. Both my husband and I have medical backgrounds so we tend to be more concerned about blood borne pathogens than the average person so this may have been something most people would not be concerned with or have noticed. Nevertheless, we still highly recommend this practice as affordable, knowledgeable and more importantly as one that does not view the owners as just a way to charge more for tests than is necessary. Being given options with informed information to make decisions from a financial perspective that is in line with our budget without being made to feel uncomfortable was a pleasant and unexpected surprise. Many thanks to Flatt Veterinary Clinic for the care and treatment of our fur baby.

Not only are these docs and staff just absolutely the greatest because their diagnostic and treatment skills are first rate but also because they care! Prices are reasonable and very appreciated by all of us who love our pets. Reminds me of when I took 2 feral kittens in to be spayed to a previous vet and BEFORE the procedure they shared what the bill would be (AND I AM NOT kidding and it was to be $1000 per kitten. No joke and I would flatt out like to tell you which office but, of course, I won't. But after laughing, I told them that was ridiculous which got the costs MORE than cut in half. They may, or may not, have a vet on call if your pet has an emergency after hours. It depends on if the vet decides he wants to come in or not. They will tell you to keep your pet comfortable until they open the next morning, or take your pet to Nashville. They don't even have the decency to call and see what's going on with your pet, even though it's a patient of theirs. That's how concerned they are about your pet. My pet had to be put to sleep the following day because no vet would show up to see him at midnight on a Sunday night because he had a busy weekend. Oh, and by the way, changing the web site to say 24 hour emergency instead of 24/7 doesn't change a thing. You still don't offer 24 hour emergency service, and are putting people's pets in danger. This will still be reported to the appropriate people!

Best Veterinary Clinic in Sparta!…read more We took our pug, Ms. Vivian, to see Kristin Edds since they opened. The level of care and service to each patient is incredible! The staff is always smiling and friendly. I was really impressed with how high tech this clinic is. They were able to take x rays and tests with immediate results. This was really helpful due to the severe chronic problems we're having with our 12-year-old pug. We were able to get her health back up to prolong her life by a few more months. Eventually, after doing everything we could, she reached a point where her quality of life declined to a level that the only humane thing to do was to have her put to sleep. After 12 years with a pet, they are like family. This clinic understands that and that's why they set up a really nice private room in the back with separate entrance for these procedures. Within a few days, we received a card in the mail signed from everyone at the clinic sending their condolences. It'll probably be a while before we get another pet, but if we do, the only place we'll take it is to Bluegrass Veterinary Clinic, LLC. They have an unbeatable service, truly care, very reasonable prices and veteran-owned.
