They only worked on his feet and his gait was terrible! Now he has a wonderful physical therapist who is working on his knees and leg muscles to fix his gait and in a short time she's done wonders! Why would they not know how to fix his gait??? That should be their specialty and if it wasn't they should have sent us somewhere else instead of keeping us there for a year and a half taking our $$$.

Beware if you have BCBS PPO - $371 for 1 Visit. First, let me start by sharing I enjoyed my…read moreexperience with the physical therapist, she seemed competent and I was excited to work with her. The medical insurance contracted rates however with BCBS are very high in comparison to the service provided. My first visit was $371; The office quoted $214 in advance due at the time of visit, which seemed high in comparison to physical therapy I've had in the past, but I haven't yet met my deductible. I've had physical therapy for a spinal fusion pre-and post surgery prior to this and have never been charged this amount pre-deductible. My insurance and deductible were the same between providers, so no differences otherwise to account for. At Baylor Scott & White I learned was charged for reeducation of neuromuscular for $114 after receiving the billing ledger. I had a conversation with the physical therapist about my spinal fusion, but I've had plenty education (pre & post surgery) and teach Pilates; this charge quite frankly seems like fraud. She never even demonstrated any exercises, nor did we do any exercises at the appointment. I received a printout of exercise to complete at home as I left to work on between now and my next appointment. If I truly had reeducation and required it, she would have given me more than a paper with exercises. I would suspect this is the "neuromuscular reeducation," which I would challenge should be part of the $214 visit because that is what physical therapy is. To share further insight, I had an endoscopy with a true MD Gastrointestinal doctor; the physician's bill for a this medical procedure at an outpatient center was less than my PT visit. When I called BSWI to get an understanding about the additional bill I received after paying the original $214, the woman I spoke to was incredibly kind and said she would put it for review which I sincerely appreciated. I was kind and professional to her on the phone as she investigated and sent me the billing ledger so I could review to gain a better understanding. I worked for an MD calling insurance for benefit quotes in college and later as a Big 4 auditor, so I understand the back end and in my opinion, the billing practices are unethical and take advantage of patients. It may be common for them to bill like this, but that doesn't make it right. Very disappointed in my experience here. I am going to pay my bill, but will not return nor recommend.

With inflation and the rising cost of living, who can afford to pay out of pocket every time just to get a refill? And let's not even talk about the cost of the prescriptions themselves since I haven't met my deductible. Please explain why an in‑person visit is required for refills within a 60-90 time frame? Every refill requires another appointment, regardless of whether the medication is working. It honestly feels like they are milking patients. I only see these people for one thing yet they want me to come in for other services. Why? I only want to see you for one thing. They then said, I would need to show them proof of getting wellness services else where. Why? I don't have to prove anything to you'll. I only see you for 1 thing. So why the hold up. If the money went toward improving the office, it might make more sense--but the place looks untouched since the day they moved in, likely back in the '70s. It's old and outdated. I've worked with this physical therapist owner before and some of the staff and have had really good experience at another company. However, at this new location I left my last appointment this week being told by the front desk girl, Claire, that even though there was flooding and inclement weather notifications on my phone on May 27 and had notified the office and the therapist on his cell phone, that I would not be able to drive over there safely, they were still going to charge me. Claire at the front desk told me that they would not refund me that charge because I was the only person that missed my appointment that day. WHAT?????!!!!! I told her that is wrong of them to do that and it was inclement weather. I even texted the physical therapist, a picture of the city of Garland notification saying not to drive unless you were evacuating an area. I don't understand how a physical therapy office would expect a patient to walk in that kind of downpour and possibly fall and then try to drive in heavy rain and then have to also walk through the rain into their office. I have my own business and I would never treat my clients that way when there's inclement weather. Their safety comes first. This sounds more like an office worrying about their bottom line and not about the welfare and safety of their patients. Just because other patients were able to make it to their appointment at different times of the day doesn't mean that the area that they were driving from has the same downpour we were experiencing on our side of town. So for this office to treat me like this is truly careless and appalling. What I also find very interesting. Is that when I arrived for my appointment this week they were playing a game where they had drawn a taco, a hamburger and pizza on a board on the wall and they wanted patients to say which one they would want to eat forever. I didn't really see what that had to do with physical therapy, but I played along. This kind of tactic with patients gives people the impression that it's a friendly physical therapy office with people that wanna have fun and make it fun for the patients. But then, the same girl Claire that told me that she was going to charge me for that missed appointment due to inclement weather was talking to me prior to that encounter while I was working out on a machine and making small talk with me. So again there's contradictory behavior by the staff on being social and being friendly, which then confuses the patient when it's time to pay a bill that then the behavior completely switches and now you're being told you have to pay something even though you weren't there and had a really good reason for not being so what I'm getting at is that they try to be very social and kind of playful with patients but then contradict that kind of social relationship with a patient and then try to enforce very strict rules about billing. It's very confusing to patients and I'm the type of person where if I go to a business for physical therapy that's what I'm there for -not to play games and choose what food I want to eat or be socializing with a staff member who is then going turn around 20 minutes later and be rude to me and tell me how I owe them money when I wasn't feeling safe driving that day. It's not even about the money. It's about the principal. Are you playing these games to entertain your staff ? What is your true interest? Patients safety and well being? Your bottom line ? I left there feeling that I was not valued as a patient and do not plan to return.

She said she wouldn't apply my already paid deposit for my next appt. due to the fact I called to adjust my appt. at the 23 hour mark instead of the 24 hour mark, so therefore I'd lose the deposit I paid and have to repay it to re-schedule. I had been adjusting my appt. In the portal within the allotted 24 hour time for a few weeks because my early pregnancy symptoms had been quite severe and It was hard for me to leave the house let alone imagine being adjusted while in the midst of intense nausea. I had to call to reschedule this time because I was at the 23 hour mark and past the 24 hour mark....she didn't ask my name or appt time. I just told her forget it (Im not going to pay extra money for frivolity) and I'd just find another office mostly because she was very curt and you could tell by her attitude she was not interested in me being a patient there. After hanging up I realized she didn't even ask my name or appt. time. I called back to ask why she didn't ask my name and how she knew which appt. to cancel. She said "oh I looked up your phone number" ...which is fine, but still strange front desk manners to not acknowledge or confirm who you're talking to and confirm the appt. time or account you're dealing with. It was all very abrupt and passive aggressive. She told me I was the only appt. That day, so maybe I'm better off at an office with a little more demand. We understand the 24 hour cancellation policy...but 23 hours is petty. She didn't say any impolite words to me, but any human being with a sense of social norms could tell she was being rude and abrupt and terse in her tone. Too bad. I was looking forward to receiving prenatal care here. Sorry for the doctor who lost a patient and the future patient of my baby. When will offices start to realize that service starts with the person who picks up the phone to your office? So silly-over $30 and and 1 hour.
