Later, I started having lower back problems. Recently, I started suffering through walking with a crazy bone spur on my heel. Through all of my "injuries," Dr. Travis and his staff have been amazing! They are dedicated, knowledgeable but most of all caring. They have created a full service atmosphere where I can work through body mechanics issues, stretch and strengthen muscles and my core, get adjusted and provide specialized services like decompression for my back and scraping connective tissue to help me walk pain-free with this bone spur. Customer service and professionalism are key for me. From the time you walk in to the time you leave, they are on their A-Game. If anyone asks why have I been coming for so long, I can honestly say their methods work. I have full use of my hand, my lower back is so much better, my heel can't wait to be released after the scraping and they give good information to help me maintain a routine at home between visits. I recommend Dr. Travis to everyone I know because I want them to feel as good as I do!!

Dr. Alan Trites - Beware…read more Where do I even begin? Dr. Trites was recommended by a former patient--but he could not help her. I went in cautiously optimistic, hoping he could help me. I had an initial visit, followed by a session with some of his neurological testing. Most I passed fine, some I did not. Blood work was ordered. I asked my primary care physician to review the tests; they had no concerns but suggested I clarify the purpose with Dr. Trites. That's when the unraveling began. I sent a polite email to Rachael, and the response I got was littered with spelling and grammatical errors. Soon after, I was discharged. I requested a refund, but the office manager (his wife) refused to respond. I left a detailed Google review warning others--but it seems to have vanished. Afterward, the office left a public review claiming I made them feel unsafe and bragged about how many doctors I've seen. None of that is true. I have a complicated medical case, and asking questions should not result in being dismissed, ignored, or accused of lying. If you are considering functional medicine, there are far better options. My experience with Dr. Trites was frustrating, dismissive, and unprofessional. I do not recommend this practice. Note: The listed Google address may be incorrect. The correct office appears to be 17000 Dallas Pkwy, Ste. 215, Dallas, TX 75248.

Beware if you have BCBS PPO - $371 for 1 Visit. First, let me start by sharing I enjoyed my…read moreexperience with the physical therapist, she seemed competent and I was excited to work with her. The medical insurance contracted rates however with BCBS are very high in comparison to the service provided. My first visit was $371; The office quoted $214 in advance due at the time of visit, which seemed high in comparison to physical therapy I've had in the past, but I haven't yet met my deductible. I've had physical therapy for a spinal fusion pre-and post surgery prior to this and have never been charged this amount pre-deductible. My insurance and deductible were the same between providers, so no differences otherwise to account for. At Baylor Scott & White I learned was charged for reeducation of neuromuscular for $114 after receiving the billing ledger. I had a conversation with the physical therapist about my spinal fusion, but I've had plenty education (pre & post surgery) and teach Pilates; this charge quite frankly seems like fraud. She never even demonstrated any exercises, nor did we do any exercises at the appointment. I received a printout of exercise to complete at home as I left to work on between now and my next appointment. If I truly had reeducation and required it, she would have given me more than a paper with exercises. I would suspect this is the "neuromuscular reeducation," which I would challenge should be part of the $214 visit because that is what physical therapy is. To share further insight, I had an endoscopy with a true MD Gastrointestinal doctor; the physician's bill for a this medical procedure at an outpatient center was less than my PT visit. When I called BSWI to get an understanding about the additional bill I received after paying the original $214, the woman I spoke to was incredibly kind and said she would put it for review which I sincerely appreciated. I was kind and professional to her on the phone as she investigated and sent me the billing ledger so I could review to gain a better understanding. I worked for an MD calling insurance for benefit quotes in college and later as a Big 4 auditor, so I understand the back end and in my opinion, the billing practices are unethical and take advantage of patients. It may be common for them to bill like this, but that doesn't make it right. Very disappointed in my experience here. I am going to pay my bill, but will not return nor recommend.
