She cherished the past 61/2 years with SOR Rockwall. However, she has been in the program for the past 7 years. When a senior leaves the program there are 2 major events that occur. One is the student will receive a plaque depicting their time there. She received the plaque with the wrong last name and she said, "it's okay they are really busy with the new studio". In all fairness one of the owners had a medical emergency and we totally understand. She was given a corrected photo and told she could replace it. Second, is the senior gets to choose a senior song where they are showcased during the concert. She never even got to tell them her song choice. Again a lot of changes so we were disappointed but okay. Her final concert was July 27, and as we walked out, no one from the SOR said anything to her. She was on social media and another senior from the same SOR had their plaque correct and a senior song. There was postings of the SOR staff celebrating the other students at the same venue we were at. The last 6 months are her final moments at SOR, and her memories at this time are true devastation. I've given Rockwall Tavern more than enough chances, but the vibe has been the same every time:…read morecold, unwelcoming, and dismissive -- from the bar staff all the way up to ownership. It's never felt like a place that values new faces or fresh energy, and that's a missed opportunity. As for karaoke nights, it's no secret there's an inner circle. If you're not part of it, good luck. Despite signing up early and showing up ready to contribute to the night, I've consistently been pushed back or overlooked. It's hard to ignore when the same familiar faces keep rotating through while others wait endlessly. The karaoke host (yes, you know who you are) makes it clear who's in and who's out. If you're confident, talented, or don't "fit the clique," don't expect fair treatment. Some people protect their spotlight at the expense of others -- and that's exactly what happens here. It's unfortunate, because karaoke should be about building a vibe, not gatekeeping one. It's no wonder the place was dead last Saturday. Places that don't grow community eventually lose it. I'm speaking up not out of hate, but because I believe people deserve to know the truth -- and Rockwall deserves better than what this spot currently offers.

Been going to this studio for a solid month now, and I've gotta say, I kinda love it! It's got a…read morerelaxed zen-like atmosphere, intimate class size, nice group of people from different ages / fitness levels -- and there's something for everyone. I first started out with the restorative yoga, which as Melissa C mentions is much slower paced (and I guess that's the point; so as to restore you). It was helpful in the sense that it got me out of my head for an hour, and I left feeling very relaxed and refreshed. Then I decided maybe the power yoga would give me more of a cardio workout, and it did! I was famished half way through, I think it's more for intermediate level. Right now I'm really enjoying the Beginner 1 classes. It goes through a good foundation of poses, and Jessica does well to balance more challenging variations with easier modifications, so you get to listen to your body and follow according to your individual needs. The forehead massage at the end with essential oils is a nice touch, haven't seen this at any other place. Overall if you're looking for a studio in Rockwall, I suggest going through some of the different classes offered here with various teachers, to find one that feels right for you. Right now, I'm so glad I found this place!

I recently started attending classes here (4 weeks ago/5 classes). I definitely enjoy the feel of…read morethe studio - calm, clean, and simple. The only thing I wish is there was decor on the walls or windows in the studio so I could focus on something during practice. Other than that, I like the intimate size, changing rooms, clean bathrooms, ample waiting area, etc. I've only attended Beginner classes taught by Jessica, one of the owners. She's even keeled and knowledgable - the real deal. I like how her classes are never the same from day to day: Different parts of my body get worked on from class to class. (I've been to classes before where the teacher seemed to favor certain postures.) She's great at giving modifications if my body isn't willing to go "there" and tips for making a posture or stretch more challenging. I've come away sore from her class once (heavy on the abs). I usually leave feeling stretched out and relaxed. I suppose I'd like for mid-class to lead up to some sort of flow, more Sun Salutations perhaps - just for a few minutes - to get my heart going a bit more. Maybe there's another class I need to try for that. My favorite thing is the Savasana at the end. The studio I was a part of before practiced this for a good amount of time at the end of every practice, and I haven't been to one since that consistently did it for a good amount of time. Jessica does here and even gives a quick, relaxing forehead massage using essential oils. Yay for the human touch! I do miss the yoga-nidra practice from my last place, but I can do that myself now. Overall, I'm just happy to have found a real studio - not a random class at the Y, not that crazy hot yoga doesn't embody all that yoga is suppose to be, but true mind/body/spirit place.

Brett Morrison greeted me upon entering and gave me the tour of his cute little boutique guitar shop. I call it boutique because they have their own line of guitars and are so far removed from the heartless Guitar Center experience. They are a huge breath of fresh air in a soulless world of shopping mass produced guitars that are average at best. Their guitars are not for beginners looking for cheap $150 starter guitar kits. But if you have been playing for a few years and like me know that it's more than just a passing interest, they have some wonderful instruments. They have their own guitar line designed to their specs and after handling them I can tell you that the construction and finish on them are excellent! I found a few that really peaked my interest, and Brent spent a lot of time with me showing me different guitars and just shooting the breeze with me, without the hard sell which was much appreciated. Check this place out if you're n the neighborhood, you won't be disappointed.
