I went in during a snow storm to get a spray tan for a NYE party in Philadelphia I was on the way to out of town. After waiting for over an hour because of system difficulties, they informed me I was unable to tan, AND the girl had already hit redeem on my groupon...she assured me this would be no issue and they would be understanding when I eventually wanted to use it. Fast forward to now, I just got home from PA from college. I called to see if I would be able to get the tan for a wedding coming up and a less than friendly woman on the phone informed me "I'd probably just have to use the Groupon price toward the regular price, so pay half for the tan (13$). Not that this is a lot of money, but it is just the principle of that error after error on their part and I'm still expected to pay. Stay away from this place. read more

I've been coming to this tanning salon for four years. Rockstar Tans is the only tanning salon I have found that has the half-off spray tans on Sundays. They used to have spray tan happy hour on Tuesdays but that ended when covid hit, which is totally understandable. I love that it is never crowded here and it reminds me of my high school days with the way it is decorated, like a Long Island dance club back in the Glow days. I go for just the spray tans, which have saved me a lot of money. I'm English and I'm about as fair-skinned as it gets-no color at all in my skin. I turn pink in the sun and burn easily, and I never leave the house without Supergoop sunscreen and sunglasses. I've wasted a lot of money over the years on the Clarin's, Lancome, and other expensive brand self-tanners because I can't get any color naturally. Most of the self-tan products I use a few times and then let go to waste because they are sticky, smelly, greasy or drying, streaky, irritating to my skin and so uncomfortable to wear. I just hop into the versa spa once a week or every two weeks and I get a pleasant bronze color that complements my blonde hair and makes my teeth look brighter. Red light therapy from Rockstar tans also helped one of my girlfriends with her vitiligo, which is pretty awesome. Its cheaper to get a membership here and use their red light bed than to buy a bulb and risk hurting your eyes or take up space in your house. The bed is a low power of UV also so you won't overdo it in a session. I would recommend this spa just for the spray tan and teeth whitening services because I can't use tanning beds. I love rockstar because of how considerate they are with prices for their customers. Other places charge like $30 to use the versa spa, with no discount days at all, and I wouldn't want to spend $120 a month on spray tans. I see a dermatologist regularly and she is very impressed with the condition of my skin- no damage on my chest/decolette AT ALL (hard feat to pull off, especially when you don't have any melanin in your genetics) and only faded freckles on my shoulders from sun exposure in my pre-teen years (back before anyone knew about sun radiation/poisoning.) I recommend that no one use tanning beds, even if you have a lot of melanin production in your skin, because small freckles and moles can turn into skin cancer at any age. Also if you are fair-skinned, do not exfoliate before the spray tan. If you need to get the old tan off, use something very gentle like a Dove brand bead cream product, peeler or toner. People with our skin type cannot handle the dry skin brush or sugar exfoliators- it will make our skin scratched raw. Just because it's popular does not mean it is good for you. Don't use the exfoliating mitts or those coral-reef looking sponges, and ESPECIALLY not on your face! I want to say thank you to Rockstar, because they gave me the option of changing my complexion while protecting my skin and for a great price. I don't have to worry about aging or harmful chemicals because the spray is made out of walnuts and other natural ingredients that are not irritating to my skin. This is one of the nicest tanning salons around. It is always very clean and they have nice tanning beds. The owner is usually present and very nice. There is coffee while you wait and they have Alexa in all of the rooms for music (except the stand up bed). There is rarely a wait. read more

I dont usually write reviews but this place pissed me off..i bought a VIP membership which they normally charge your credit card but i made it so i can pay cash before its due .. so i did that for a few months and then i moved for 3 months so i didnt tan for that time period .. when i came back to lindenhurst area to tan the management said i had to pay almost $300 and they could not waive the fee so i took my business elsewhere ‍ read more

Beds are always dirty. Last time I found bugs crawling on itand just cleaned myself before using. My next visit the girl suggested a "red" bed when I asked for the opposite and burned me. And my last time I went the bed turned off and broke while I was in it. The face tanners turned off and not filled with water almost every time. They offered one FREE tan to make up for my many horrible visits. They also don't inform you when your packages are almost up to force you to renew when not expecting to. I love this place ! Super clean and staff is great and helpful. I tried there spray tan and it was amazing didn't make me orange and came out with a natural tan. I was so nervous but the girls at the desk made me believe it wouldn't make me orange so I went to try it and thank god I tried it because I loved it. My new place to go spray tanning and even there tanning beds are great ! You can tell they change the bulbs and keep up with it because I always see a change.
