Love camping here! It's better in the off season since it's less crowded but anytime of the year is great. Very close to the salt lake valley and not too pricey. They have hook ups for glampers as well as primitive spots. You can camp right by the lake and walk to it in less than minutes. Definitely will return again

We were at Riverside campground campsite #4 which is near couple important amenities. One was drinking water emphasis on drinking and the other being the bathroom. Overall, it was a nice campsite there are couple things we wished were different. The campsites are pretty close to each other, we were lucky that we didn't have anyone right next to us. Two, there are little red ants (completely different from fire ants) that are just pesky and annoying. They don't hurt or bite, they are just everywhere. I'm not a bug enthusiast, so naturally I noticed them often whereas my boyfriend was unbothered. Three, there aren't kindling for fire so definitely bring some. You can buy firewood literally at camp so no need to haul and you are about 10mins drive round trip from a store that sells ice and firewood. We were able to make it work with the kindling at our site (we had fire 3 out of 4 days we were there, we chose not make fire one of the day) but people at campsite 3 and 1 you definitely will need something if you're planning on having fire more than once. On the positive side at campsite #4 we had cellular service the entire time there. I have T-Mobile and he has Verizon no issues at all with calls or texts or social media or maps. I was pleasantly surprised we had that well of a phone service. There's a picnic table to eat on or prep meals or play games. Fire ring is in great condition. Flat land for tent and there's couple trees for shade. Not good for hammock too far apart and also would go over fire ring. Campsite #3 doesn't have trees at all, so if you're there maybe bring a canopy for shade. You can hear the river and it's a very short walk to the river. Overall, good experience and will camp there again whenever I'm in that part of Utah!

It came to my attention he no longer worked with the park and Tony, the park manager took over handling my event.

We visited in winter to experience playing around on a frozen lake and it was such a cool…read moreexperience (no pun intended)! But definitely be very careful bc the ice is still thin in a lot of areas! I fell through some! Luckily it was at an edge and very shallow and I was wearing some serious hiking shoes with decent waterproofing lol. It's really an experience to get out and walk around on the ice like that! You'll see holes from previous ice fisherman and you'll see people actively ice fishing too. We were able to determine how thick the ice was by sticking our arm down one of the abandoned holes! I'd say it was probably about 6 inches thick or so! Very cool to see! The sun had just set and the sky was incredibly beautiful with all its fiery oranges, soft pinks and subtle lavenders! And the ice makes all sorts of fascinating noises when you walk around and jump and skip rocks and slide and play...definitely a feast for your senses! It's easy to find - just follow your gps and it'll take you to the entrance. Head towards the boat ramp to the left and you'll see plenty of parking - but it's more gravel and dirt parking and not terribly well-marked - but you'll see all the other vehicles. There are some buildings around the area - and I think one had some bathrooms but I didn't investigate so I'm not 100% sure. But everything looked well maintained. There so seem to be entrance fees for various activities and during certain "seasons". But in winter like this I think it was free? I'm not sure - I didn't see anything on their fee chart that seemed to apply to us. And we passed a staff member at the gate and he waved nicely so seemed like we did the right thing lol.

Pretty cool spot. Unlike most Utah lakes this one doesn't have a public, state run boat ramp or…read morefacilities. A private company runs a campground, store, and boat launch. I believe it's 15 dollars to use the ramp. 4 dollars for walk in access. This is all closed in winter. I mostly visit in the winter. During this time you can park up by the road and walk to the lake for free. The main negative for me is the road noise coming from I-80. Fishing can be hit or miss. Besides trout there are bass, perch and catfish. Good luck!
