Show was phenomenal, seating was uncomfortable and it was a bit hard to see if you didn't get there right as house opened

America's Got Talent in Folsom at Lakeside Church Circus Vargas!! These people are amazing and…read morethe show is exemplary. Outstanding staging, tasteful costumes and songs , clever audience involvement, a ringmaster who sings like an Andrew Webber musical, performers who take your breath away!! Wonderful fun for all ages. I could see it again and again!

Our granddaughter is about turn 3 years of age, and we thought she would love to see Circus Vargas,…read morewhich was absolutely true. This is a traditional traveling circus with performances under a large tent. It's a family-friendly show which has no animals that lasts a little under 2 hours with a 20-minute intermission. The dancers, jugglers and high-wire artists all have impressive skills and kept everyone's attention. We fortunately brought along headphones for our granddaughter to protect her hearing. I have a sound level meter app in my smartphone which showed the sound was at or slightly above 85 decibels for most of the show, which is loud enough to cause permanent hearing damage especially in young children; I wore noise-canceling AirPods Pro earbuds myself. I thought since it was going to be in the 80s that day it might be hot and stuffy inside the outdoor tent with the audience and performers, but it was comfortably ventilated at all times. In fact, one of the acts included 4 motorcycle riders but I didn't smell exhaust fumes at all. The photos from the show were taken from our ringside seats, so our little granddaughter was easily able to see everything. My camera has a simple 35mm fixed lens, so I don't have any telephoto capability. Overall, I was very impressed with the quality and variety of performers and was very satisfied to have gone to Circus Vargas.

Building character while having fun? That's CYT. My kids have caught the theater bug which thrills…read moreme to no end because it is a passion of mine as well. It's wonderful to find a large group of families who are also just as passionate. My kids look forward to going to their classes each week (my daughter loves the performing classes like Hamilton Hip Hop and children's singing classes while my introvert son loves the lighting and sound classes.) The shows are fun and involve all of the families coming together to make things happen whether helping build sets, selling refreshments, or working back stage. The greatest thing that sets CYT apart is that while the kids are learning and striving to be their best, they are learning to be better people on the inside as well. Instead of being a cut-throat, competitive atmosphere the kids are supporting each other and cheering each other on. There are life lessons in how to deal with the good and the bad of theater life like how you deal with the disappointment of not making it into a show or getting the part you wanted. I could not hope for a better place for my children to learn about theater AND life.

What can I say? We absolutely love CYT!. For us,, CYT has been a very loving, welcoming…read moreenvironment. The kids support and encourage one another, (despite age differences, and regardless of roles). For shows, they are paired up with buddies who can walk them through the process or send them encouraging notes, etc. they focus on character development, and how kids learn what I would consider to be important qualities, such as discipline, resilience, kindness, etc. Even the parents get to join in on the fun, as parent involvement/volunteering is required for shows. I've really enjoyed connecting with other theater moms and dads and working together on parent teams. I also like that parents are not involved in the classes. That means if your kid wants to do theater and you don't have the time to volunteer, you still have options for them. The teachers are passionate and highly capable. From what I've seen, they are immensely talented in their own fields. Each time one of my children takes a class, they definitely come away knowing more than they went in knowing, and it shows in their performances. Our oldest child has been involved with CYT over the past couple of years, and we have seen great growth in her singing and dance abilities, as well as her drive and work-ethic. We're definitely excited to introduce the siblings to CYT.

Rachel at the front made sign in and sign up a quick and painless procedure. She gave us the tour…read moreand got us all dialed in on the gym setup. Next up it was our teacher Miss Stephanie. She was absolutely wonderful, I mean talk about a real legit saint --dealing with little squirming and squealing 3 year olds! It's an art (and not one I would prefer to dabble in myself). It's not dirt cheap but nothing involving instruction is, so I had to ask myself... Do I want to give him that foundation to possibly turn him into the greatest breakdancer of all time? Well, of course! I was also certain however that I did want to break him out if his shell, have him learn a bit about coordination, see if he could be respectful and patient in a group environment and most importantly tucker him out! All is going well thus far, stay tuned for an update.

Depth perception is an issue, but Heather works well with her to navigate a busy gym environment to give her confidence so she can push herself to achieve tasks both while at the gym, and more importantly, when she is outside of the gym in school and the community. If you have a son or daughter with disabilities who could benefit from 1:1 attention developing strength and agility then I would recommend trying out Tricks .
