We have a daughter with cognitive disabilities and Heather at Tricks does an amazing job working with her on her one on one for balance, core strength, and agility. Depth perception is an issue, but Heather works well with her to navigate a busy gym environment to give her confidence so she can push herself to achieve tasks both while at the gym, and more importantly, when she is outside of the gym in school and the community. Let me start by prefacing, I love the gymnastics and dance classes for the littles at this tricks facility. Amazing staff for girls who are 7 and younger. We have been going to tricks since my daughter was 1. We started at the Sacramento one and transferred to this granite bay one about four years ago. The old owners of the gym transferred ownership recently which made me want to advise people against coming here for their older kids. My daughter was on the cheer team for two years. This year (the second year) was completely different than any time I have ever attended a tricks facility. Specifically Tosha who is the owner. If you ever have any issues whatsoever, she never takes ownership of any issues and will attempt to gaslight you to avoid confrontation. My daughter (9-10 at the time) as well as at least two others; cried multiple times from the horrible attitude and words of the coaches (Tosha & Jess). They never gave a real attempt at working with my daughter who has a learning disability and mental health issues. I can't count how many times this inconsiderate woman belittled my daughter into thinking she amounted to shit. And bringing up these issues and being told "I don't see a problem at all". Her resolution was to advise me at least 3-4 different times (on a expensive team mind you) that "we could just leave and go to a new gym if we didn't like it." The other issues were the constant moving of practice times and days and only having ONE tumbling class available for the cheerleaders to enroll in. And if we couldn't do it it was "too bad". Constantly strayed away from contract smh. So if you have a child who is not neurotypical, avoid this place like the plague!! Also if you're learning any type of tumbling, you will never progress here. My daughter in just three months of attending l; sharpened and gained a new skill all in the same. Like I said; the little gym and other teachers are great! I've had nothing but great experiences with with my youngest. Pulled my daughter and she hasn't shed a single tear since. Loves and thrives at her new place where she isn't constantly being torn down. All Tosha casagrande cares about is money, not the actual cheerleaders or their families. read more

After Gymboree playtime closed in Citrus Heights at the end of 2019 I wanted something for my son to do that involved following directions and exercise. Once covid hit that got really difficult. So when things re opened for a bit Tricks gym was a huge hit for us. As of pre holiday the gym was very strict on masking, temperature check, sanitizing and spectators. Unfortunately they now allow staff to wear face shields and chin cups that don't give my child any safety. So we've had to waitlist for a class that has a teacher willing to mask for the kids. But it's not just covid protocol I'm frustrated with. We signed up with a specific teacher who was super fun and encouraging. She went back to school and we got a new teacher 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately she's very impatient with the group, ummmm they are the 3yr old class , and just doesn't have the energy, patience, or excitement our previous teacher did. Very disappointed and am hoping the waitlist gets us moved soon. We already paid for the month so I have to just deal with it for now. read more

My daughter has been going to trucks gym for over a year now, she was 18 months when she started and she really looks forward to class each week. She loves her teacher. They are always coming up with new and exciting obstacles and activities that keep the kids engaged which can be challenging for 2 and 3 year olds but they do a fantastic job. Beware of shady billing practices. We enrolled in a trial "no-risk" class on July 16th. Due to limited enrollment spaces, I chose to finish out the month for $45. Well, my daughter twisted her ankle the night before what would have been her 2nd class (23rd). They penciled her in for a "make-up," but with the most recent COVID surge and everything else, I decided against continuing enrollment for August. Well, turns out what I thought would be her final class on July 30th would actually be billed for August... and there is no cash value for make-ups. So, I would have had to pay the whole next month's tuition to use that make-up. And make-ups have "no cash value." That's a lot to pay for a single, 45-minute session of some tumbling with a not-so-enthusiastic coach. I'm going to keep looking... read more

If their was a ZERO star that's what I would rate it. Absolutely ridiculous customer service, I brought my 3year old daughter in today for a makeup class that she was all dressed and ready for after getting a voice message from them. My daughter needless to say was completely crushed when we arrived to them saying that their was absolutely no way she could get into the class for todays makeup. I have liked their services and events in the past for how they accommodate so well, but whoever or whatever the management system is there now is just about the worst I've ever seen! read more

Rachel at the front made sign in and sign up a quick and painless procedure. She gave us the tour and got us all dialed in on the gym setup. Next up it was our teacher Miss Stephanie. She was absolutely wonderful, I mean talk about a real legit saint --dealing with little squirming and squealing 3 year olds! It's an art (and not one I would prefer to dabble in myself). It's not dirt cheap but nothing involving instruction is, so I had to ask myself... Do I want to give him that foundation to possibly turn him into the greatest breakdancer of all time? Well, of course! I was also certain however that I did want to break him out if his shell, have him learn a bit about coordination, see if he could be respectful and patient in a group environment and most importantly tucker him out! Super overcrowded, kids are always running into each other, coaches get no break. On my second week coaching, I was told by a head coach to spot a girls round-off backhand-spring with no training. I had never even spot a regular back handspring so I was very scared for the girls safety. Not all kids get equal amounts attention because there are so many kids in each class. read more

My granddaughter had her 9th birthday party here. I was a little concerned how well it would go because of the age differences between the kids. They were AMAZING! Extremely high energy activities and great supervision kept all the kids happy. After the activities (perfect amount of time btw) they moved us into a cute party room. Tricks is a really cute little gym for building self-confidence, learning to follow directions and for a good time. If you want to be a professional gymnast or dancer, I would definitely take your business elsewhere. My granddaughter had Mr. Andrew as a teacher and he was fun, sweet and good with the kids. We really haven't seen a bad teacher there. For dance she had Miss Joanne. Both the spring and winter performances were cute It is definitely a confidence booster to perform and get the applause after working hard on the routine. She was all smiles afterwards. She wanted to be like Angelina ballerina. That being said it's great for preschool age and under. If you have an older kid who is serious about gymnastics or dance there are other places in the area that will serve you better. read more

We have been coming to Tricks gymnastics for almost 6 years ~ first for my son, and now for my daughter ~ and it has been something we look forward to each week! From the baby class to the toddler class, to the big kid class, my children have grown up in this gym playing, bouncing, singing, learning and best of all gaining confidence and strength in their bodies. I love watching them learn new tricks and master abilities that they have been working on for weeks. They feel good about themselves as they develop and have so much fun in the process! We have tried other gymnastic classes over the years, but nothing compares to the program offered at Tricks. We love the teachers and the teachers love the kids. I attended tricks for 3 years when I was in elementary school. I have awarded them a star for each year I was there. Here are my thoughts: 1 - the best thing about this place was the trampolines. They have the long running ones and the square one for bouncing on. 2 - because I was an older kid I never got to play in the foam pit unless it was for a birthday party. 3 - I didn't get invited to enough birthday parties at Tricks. A few here and there but I honestly did not get enough time in that pit of blue square goodness and joy 4 - I loved the sticker chart to track your gymnastic progress. I got all the stickers for good attitude and team player and NONE for being good at gymnastics 5 - I am and have always been bad at gymnastics and uncomfortable in unitards which was the outfit de rigor while I was in attendance. Our daughters took classes here for about a year. It was chaos every time we were there. It seems like there are several dozen kids in the gym in different classes at any one time. Complete pandemonium. Both my girls have been injured during class without a phone call and we only found out about a chipped tooth from the girls directly and not their instructor or the office. Another time, one of our daughters got locked in the bathroom and was stuck in there for over a half hour. She was traumatized to say the least. Overall, it seems too busy and too poorly managed/supervised for us to continue entrusting our girls safety there. read more

We've had our two-year-old enrolled in the toddler class for about two months now and we LOVE Tricks! We have been part of the artistic gymnastics team for 3 years, and both Renee and Trayce have been instrumental in developing her resilience, commitment, and hard working attitude not only to the sport but to life as well. Additionally, both coaches know what each of the girls need in order to succeed, and have continued to value and shape the individual learning process so that the girls become successful in their own way and on their own time. As a side note, I am always humbly surprised at how well our team does as compared to other very competitive gyms in the outlying areas. I don't really know where to start but the first word that comes to mind is CHAOS!!!!!! There are so many children running around and jumping and I am shocked there are not more injuries. The classes in my opinion have too many children. My daughter is in an early gymnastics class - there are 7 total children and sometimes only one teacher and sometimes two. My daughter is quiet and while the teachers are busy helping the others, she is standing doing nothing! Other children are doing this too, because they don't know what they are doing yet. And on top of that they just crowd them in - they want them to spread out on the floor so their arms don't touch when they are up but there is literally no room for this because there are so many other classes happening at the same time. They are just trying to make money and not produce any real experience. The seating for the parents is a total joke! It is carpeted (gross) and very little is available because they cram so many classes and kids in! What is wrong with regular bleachers???? I have never seen anything like this for a seating area. My daughter though is enjoying it, but I refuse to sign her up for another session with so much going on at this gym and very little to be shown for it as far as what she is learning. Last complaint - we are paying through a charter school - when I signed up via telephone, they were super nice - no problem. We go to the first class and we are treated like a major inconvenience. The girl literally rolled her eyes and said she would have to have someone else talk to me because the schools are not good at paying on time and it is a problem. I was annoyed with her and told her that is an issue they need to take up with the schools. If you don't like it - don't do it. read more
