So I asked the gentleman at the front desk and he casually goes, "yeah it's like that every summer." Sir... why was this information guarded like classified military intel?! So bam... hit the weights first trying to look athletic for absolutely nobody, then made my way outside to the pool. Let me tell you something... night swimming with nobody around feels like you accidentally rented out a millionaire's backyard. Quiet, peaceful, and not one kid cannonballing directly next to your face while you're trying to have a spiritual moment floating under the stars. I almost stayed until they kicked me out. This gym honestly has some awesome employees too. Amber always comes in with that motivational energy like she's coaching Rocky before a title fight. Then there's Keith moving around the floor like a gym FBI agent making sure dumbbells make it back home safely. Dude cares about the place and it shows. Now parking... whew. Between 4-7pm it's basically the Hunger Games. Once you see headlights backing out you better commit immediately and believe in yourself. But after 9pm? Different universe. Feels like you own the place. Wide open equipment, peaceful vibe, and enough room to finally do lunges without accidentally ending up in somebody's protein shake. read more

We visited Life Time Fitness for a tennis event this weekend. The facility is really nice and they have a wide variety of athletic facilities as well as other amenities such as a spa, massages, Kid Care, cafeteria, concierge, and pro shop for tennis and pickle ball. The staff is very nice, interacting with members and visitors. They have plenty of space and equipment if you use wights, ehlipticals, etc. Membership prices are a bit higher than other gyms but depending on how much you are wanting to pay on a monthly basis, this might be a good option for you. The facility is gorgeous, clean, and well staffed but the management staff's unwillingness to work with members special needs is a game changer. My experience with the GM, Rob, was like walking into a brick wall. Every idea, or suggestion was met with a closed response . His two most common responses were 'we meet ADA requirements', and I've already looked into your suggestion and it is not possible'. Overall a poor communicator considering his position. On a more positive note, the gentleman I spoke to from corporate, Jeff, was extremely responsive. He liked my suggestions for a few work around ideas I suggested but my concerns were ultimately kicked back to the club manager. I guess the buck stops there. read more

Ok. So my five stars are primarily focused on my personal training experience with Roy, in addition to a handful of fantastic employees I've had the pleasure to get to know. Of course everyone knows Lifetime is clean, well equipped, and has a respectful and responsible membership base. If that, in addition to an actual legitimate steam room that all of Sacramento seems to lack, is important to you, then it is worth the cost (assuming you're passionate about fitness). But my main point here was to highlight my expedience with personal trainer Roy. I've lifted weights for years now, and have been part of all the luxury gyms and personal trainers. So the concept isn't entirely new to me, but the experience I've had I did not expect. In short, in just a limited time working out with Roy and utilizing Lifetimes amenities, my life has simply taken a categorical shift. I don't want to get too sappy or lame on the internet, but Roy has been able to connect, encourage, hold accountable, support, guide/lead/train in a way (in my experience) is truly unmatched. Beyond losing weight, the support Roy has provided has empowered me to slowly but effectively kick a crippling sugar addiction I've had for over a decade. He explained what was happening in my shoulder and put me on a specific workout to help me fix my shoulder in addition to helping me stay healthy so I can keep playing basketball and golf, pain free!!! Yet, my teens and their friends were falsely accused of jumping a fence and publicly humiliated by being pulled from the pool. When I asked for an explanation or proof--like footage--none was given. Managers, like Rob and Van, were rude and evasive. If proof existed, it would have been in writing--but they avoided that, confirming it was a false accusation. The kids center is not family oriented at all, they don't change diapers. They don't take your kid to the restroom. They have to be self efficient at the age of three or they can't do any of the events. The gym itself is wonderful and has great facilities, but I'm giving Lifetime Fitness in Roseville a low rating because of the swim department's lack of empathy and accommodation. My daughter was taking swim lessons here when I was in a serious car accident that left me with a broken back. Due to my disability, we missed several lessons. At the time, the swim manager Grace assured me that we could make up those lessons and that they would not expire. Now that I've recovered and my daughter is ready to resume lessons, the new swim manager, Kymaya, refuses to honor that promise. She says the lessons have expired. We already pay a premium for our membership, and swim lessons are an additional cost. I'm shocked and disappointed by the lack of compassion, especially considering the circumstances were beyond our control. It's frustrating that a company we trusted with our child's activities and development would show such poor customer service and no regard for our situation. Horrible compassion. Horrible empathy. Came here to play a tennis match. The facility looks really nice. It has a nice pool area with waterslides, café, basketball area, classes, locker rooms, etc. The place is pretty big. They have quite a few tennis courts. The place looks clean and kept up. The staff at the front desk were friendly. The parking lot was full. Wasn't much parking left in the lot. There was a lot of people in the club. It was busy. After work. I checked in at the front desk. I was a visitor, they checked me in with my ID. I went to the locker room to change. The bathrooms were a little dirty. They needed to be cleaned. You would think they would have hourly cleaning here with the pricey membership. After I got ready, I walked over to the Tennis Center. The courts looked nice, but they had net dividers between courts. There's not a lot of space between courts. I went for an angled ball and I almost ran into the netting. I had to stop myself. This place is amazing. It has great classes and a very nice workout floor. The people that work there are what really make it stand out. I have a little one, and Emily at the kids academy is excellent to work with. They have tons of classes for the kids and they even do special events like a floating pumpkin patch or parents nights out. On the membership side Mila is fantastic. I had an issue and she resolved it quickly. We were able to take care of the situation via email and now she always says hi in the hallway when we see her. On the personal training side, coach Blaze is incredible. He helped me push through a plateau in just two sessions. During the summer they have a very nice pool, cantina, waterslide set up. They kids have a blast and the adults can enjoy a beverage. I am very glad we joined and I would recommend this place to everyone. read more

A lot of machines are missing bolts or broken. Since this location doesn't cost as much as newer ones, I think it's fine for the value. TMI but I took off my knee wraps after squats. I placed my foot on the floor after I took my shoe off and I found the bottom of my sock turned pretty black (sock was white before lol). Sanitation isn't there. read more

I am a family man, business man, and a Christian man and believe me when I tell you from personal experience; Lifetime is all about corporate greed and does not care about its customers OR employees. I have been a member of Lifetime Gym since 2023. I recently started working with one of their personal trainers, whom I wanted to work with specifically because of his physique and personal experience body building. A few weeks ago my personal trainer sent me a text telling me he had a last minute appointment with his GM, Rob and his boss Nick and to go ahead and warm up and stretch and he'd be on the floor around 3:10. At 3:20 I text him and ask if he's on his way, by 3:30 I sent him a text asking to just reschedule, and he let me know he was just fired. At 3:47, I get a text from a Brandon at Lifetime stating my trainer has decided to move on from lifetime, acting like it was his decision. Literally the same hour that they fired him they had another sales person reaching out to me. It's important to note: I pre-paid $3000 with my personal trainer, at this point they owe me for 18 sessions. (They say I only have 14 sessions, because I pre paid under the guise that it was a "Buy 4 get 1 session free" promotion, which they told me they knew nothing about and couldn't honor) So I decline the invite to switch trainers and tell him I would like a refund of the money I pre-paid, because I will be continuing my training with my same trainer where ever he moves to. Via TEXT, this guy informs me that I will not be getting a refund. The next week I attempt to get a hold of a manager, but I'm told Nick the personal training manager is on Vacation. When he gets back, he tells me that in the FINE PRINT, I paid to train with LIFETIME NOT MY PERSONAL TRAINER? He also throws in my face that litigation wouldn't be a route I could choose because I signed an arbitration agreement. He says that they can't give me my money back, BUT if I were to follow through with the 14 sessions I had left, and I wasn't satisfied, they would give me a full refund. I said if you really wanted to act in good faith, you would refund me my money, and give me a session with a personal trainer and if I liked him or her I would purchase more sessions. They said they couldn't do that. So their only route for me to get a refund would be to screw over a trainer and have them train me 14 times just to ask for a refund so they don't get paid on it?? Sounds equivalent to using your employees as a literal human shield. After hours of my time wasted with emails and phone calls I finally get connected to Van and tell her all of this last night. She is some type of assistant manager at lifetime.. And she actually verbally agreed with me, and so did the manager Nick, that when people pre-pay they are pre-paying under the assumption that it will be with that trainer, and they spend that money to specifically be trained by that person. She tells me she will have Rob call me by EOD, then sent an email stating she didn't get to speak with him before he left for the day. I called in today to speak with Rob and left a message, Van called me back. So Rob the GM doesn't even have time for me yet they want to just steal thousands of dollars from me?? She let me know that they will not be issuing a refund. So if you want to go somewhere that treats their employees as disposable, will fire your personal trainer without letting you know and will let you sit at the gym for an hour wondering what's going on, a gym that will literally steal thousands of dollars from you on a technicality when the opportunity presents itself then remind you of the fine print that you signed that allows them to do so... Then this is the gym for you. FYI Villa sports in Roseville is about half the price, has all of the amenities that lifetime does and others that it does not, such as red light therapy. Save yourself the headache and go there, this place does not care about it's employees or it's customers. read more

I am writing this after multiple failed attempts to remedy the issues I have faced with this club. I first came to this club on August 24th and asked them to upgrade my membership to make me a member of this club. That request was ignored for well over a month. During this time I was stopped when I entered the club and forced to explain that I was not visiting and that this club was now meant to be my home club. Every time they stopped me they assured me that they had left a note on my account and that management would change my home club to this one. Fast forward to now and I have been trying to get in touch with someone from membership services. I was referred to Van Parkhurst. Van assured me that they would follow up, upon their return to office on 12/4. After 2 follow up emails and almost a week later I have not been followed up with from Van. Now, Mila Litvinova reached out to me to inform me that the concierge not following through on my request to change the Roseville club to my home club was then "accommodating my access" for longer than it should have been. You will have an issue if you put your account on hold. If you dare try and cancel then they will say you owe money when you don't and yes you should have read the 99 page contract with binoculars and retain all of the verbiage. I've had the gratification to have Roy as my personal trainer. I've been working with him for the past 3 weeks and have already seen great improvements in me obtaining my personal goals we discussed in the beginning! When I joined lifetime fitness my goal was to live a healthier lifestyle and take advantage of the abundance of group exercise classes for the variety to keep me entertained and hold me accountable. What I did NOT expect was to not only enjoy that but also dive into my own personalized fitness regimen that I was empowered to enjoy, own and hold myself accountable for with the help of trainers who became not only my biggest cheerleaders but also my friends. I have a complex health history requiring me to have some physical limitations while battling my own spirit of a warrior that is hard to contain. Finding a safe physical fitness routine within my limitations as well as feeding my inner animal has always been a struggle for me. That's when I stumbled across Joe Fox, one of the Trainers/Leaders and his team. I'm stubborn and had absolutely no plan to say yes to personal training. However, I let my guard down because Joe took the time to understand my limitations and feed my souls desire to be a beast and I signed up for some training. I ended up doing at least 2 days per week for almost 5 months. Let me tell you...it was life changing. Not only was I able to excel with a regimen specific to my needs to lose fat, gain muscle and ultimately change my body composition to be the healthiest I have been in my adult life. But it empowered me to feel strong and confident on the "stinky, noisy, too peopley" weight room floor, enjoy cardio as a meditative practice with just my thoughts or earbuds fueling my soul. Overall I lost 50lbs, almost 20% bodyfat, changed my physique, changed my unhealthy eating habits that had cultivated over 39 years and vastly improved my mental health/outlook on life. I still enjoyed food and libations, but with a new mindset about moderation and physical/mental health in mind. Shout out to not only Joe but Derek for mobility work when I experienced some restrictive/painful set backs in parts of my body that hindered my progress. Sarah for being that supportive female presence we all need at the gym and all the others for cheering me on and answering all my questions. I have carried the exercises, nutrition mentality and mobility work I learned with me for close to a year. This has empowered me with confidence, allowed me to be a healthy role model for family, peers and clients of my own as well as done wonders for my mental health. I recently played in a USTA tennis match and the tennis courts are not orientated properly...they should run north/south due to the sun. These courts are angled more north/west- east/south. This makes a huge difference as far as play goes. The sun was directly in our eyes on one side. I have played on many sunny days at other clubs, but have never experienced such literally blinding sun. Not only that, but a tennis friend played there one the evening and said the setting sun was even worse, again due to the orientation of the courts. **I appreciate lifetime fitness being open until midnight.** Life Time Athletic is a gym in Roseville that tries to tailor itself to the higher profile clientele, the sales team really want to sell you on things you don't need, for an "experience" that is not worth the price tag at all. My membership was overcharged on many occasions for things I was not aware of which felt like a very dishonest practice by their staff. --------------------------------------------- When I first came to Life Time Athletic, I asked the lady at the front if I could get a tour around the facilities, which I was granted before immediately being put with a sales person shortly after. I explained to the sales associate that I was mostly interested in training on their tennis courts. I mentioned I was a student, but was not offered any type of discount. I was also not informed on the guest policy either which was a shame, as you can actually bring one guest per month... I wish the man that signed me up for Life Time went over the amenities with me but sadly didn't. I purchased their Diamond membership ($189 a month) which includes access to their tennis courts, indoor/outdoor pool, their studio, cycle & yoga classes, a complimentary facial at their spa (which I never took advantage of) and a complimentary one hour session with a trainer. I kept getting little charges here and there for $2, and $9 over the course of a year which I did not understand... I contacted their billing team, and asked what they were, one was a "magazine subscription" that I didn't even know I was a part of, and the other one was "unknown". I got their billing team to reverse most of the $9 charges, but still a bit annoyed about the $2 magazine subscription to this day. ----------------------------------------------- The locker room is tastefully designed, there is a long tiled hallway to get to the showers in the back, and also a private entrance to the Pool. The private sauna, and steam room are both located inside the locker room. The showers were sanitary, but I would still wear flipflops. I liked both shampoo & conditioner that was provided, the smell was rich & refreshing. ----------------------------------------------- They have a tennis boutique (where you check-in to classes)with clothes, shoes, and racquets by big name brands like Nike and Babolat. You can also bring your racquet in to get strung, which was useful to me. The tennis instructors were all very accommodating, personable and generous with their time. I signed up to join the 3.1-3.5 Tennis Clinic a few times, which was twice a week for 6 weeks. It was a fun experience, I had the pleasure to meet many new and advanced players to hit the ball with. Although it was definitely a cardio boost, it felt more like a meet & greet. I scheduled many private sessions with the entire staff, as they were always accommodating and challenging me. Thomas M. was my favorite instructor during my 4 years here. I always learned something new, felt great and had fun with his sessions on the court. ----------------------------------------------- As for the gym, it's nice that they offer complimentary hot towels, next to the crushed ice/water machine. But, Every time I went upstairs to stretch before I used the equipment, there would be a lot of spots where people had left their sweaty workout mats and free weights in front of the treadmills, making it hard to find space for myself. It's so disheartening to see how lazy people are to not pick up after themselves. Although there are a few staff members that are continuously cleaning the equipment and the floors, I was appalled at how many of the trainers were there, literally lounging around and chatting, not doing much, especially not picking up after the guests. For some reason their free weights were consistently locked during the day. I've had to ask for assistance with unlocking it numerous times around 10am - 3pm, but the next day It'll be locked again. I've had two personal trainers here; the first time I was "matched up" with some unmemorable guy, which I did not have such a good experience with as he was pretty cold, detached & I felt rushed through the entire workout, he didn't even give me a break-down on paper to the exercises that he put me through, which they usually do. My second trainer, Sarah P, I specifically chose from getting to know her during the cycle classes, and also seeing her lift at the gym. My hour long sessions with her usually went a little under 50 minutes, since the first and last 5 minutes was on a treadmill (that doesn't count). I had ordered 10 private sessions with her at $98 per session; but when I could not go to one session I called her and asked if I could reschedule, but I was not given a reason to why I couldn't, and I was still charged for it. Really enjoying my Lifetime membership with all they have to offer not to mention friendly and professional staff, extremely clean surroundings, top of the line equipment and classes. My best decision thus far has been to sign up with trainer Jack as he is amazing and a real master at listening then aligning the right exercise, nutrition, stretching and overall lifestyle program. Jack has changed my life in terms of overall fitness and wellbeing as I've gotten stronger without bulking up, reduced body fat and eradicated lower back issue I've had all my life. I can confidently say the investment in my bi-weekly sessions has been an amazing experience and I'd highly recommend Jack as a personal trainer whatever your goals might be. I've been going to gyms my whole life. But Lifetime Fitness in Roseville is the Mecca of gyms. The best yoga studio and instructors I ever experienced. Best equipment, treadmills sync to Apple Watch and are state of the art. Even at 5pm on a weekday there's always available machines. The coolest members and staff. Took my nephew there, they did a swim test and he played in the water slide while I ordered drinks and food a lounged in one of their Cabanas. I've gotten the best technical massages there, I get my haircut by Brandy monthly (she's the first hairstylist to ever figure my hair out and gave me my first hairstyle at 43 years old; highly recommend her) The locker rooms are always clean, always clean towels. You don't need a lock, the lockers have built in locks which makes it easy. There's a sauna and steam room in the locker rooms too. But what changed my life is working out with Blaze, he is genuinely the best personal trainer I've ever had work with me. He has helped transform my body which has transformed my life in so many ways. Thank you Blaze for you knowledge and dedication and positive attitude.
