Our granddaughter is about turn 3 years of age, and we thought she would love to see Circus Vargas, which was absolutely true. This is a traditional traveling circus with performances under a large tent. It's a family-friendly show which has no animals that lasts a little under 2 hours with a 20-minute intermission. The dancers, jugglers and high-wire artists all have impressive skills and kept everyone's attention. We fortunately brought along headphones for our granddaughter to protect her hearing. I have a sound level meter app in my smartphone which showed the sound was at or slightly above 85 decibels for most of the show, which is loud enough to cause permanent hearing damage especially in young children; I wore noise-canceling AirPods Pro earbuds myself. I thought since it was going to be in the 80s that day it might be hot and stuffy inside the outdoor tent with the audience and performers, but it was comfortably ventilated at all times. In fact, one of the acts included 4 motorcycle riders but I didn't smell exhaust fumes at all. The photos from the show were taken from our ringside seats, so our little granddaughter was easily able to see everything. My camera has a simple 35mm fixed lens, so I don't have any telephoto capability. Overall, I was very impressed with the quality and variety of performers and was very satisfied to have gone to Circus Vargas. read more

My bf wanted to go see the circus so we got tickets last minute. Got $5 off the original price. They have fans going to circulate air but depending where you're sitting, it can get quite warm. The seats we bought stage left were quite hot. Where we sat, it was also hard to understand or hear some of the music and singing. Our show had lots of seats open so we moved seats and we were able to hear better and stay cooler. They had various acts with singing and comedic/clown acts in between. It was entertaining. Some parts seemed a little slow. The best act was the finale with the motorcycles. That was amazing! read more

Circus Vargas was a very entertaining show, with many different types of circus acts, all of the which were performed by people and no animals. They are a traveling circus that had a couple of stops in the Sacramento area so I came to the performance in Roseville at the Galleria on a Friday evening. The location was right outside the Macy's parking lot. The circus was inside a tent, which was classic, but can be a little uncomfortable on extremely hot days in Sacramento, but they do have fans blowing. There was a Ring Master that hosted the show, plus trapeze artists, jugglers, comedians, high rope walkers, and many more. The two clowns/comedians were funny and all the other acts were so impressive! The stunt with the motor bikes was so scary and exciting. The entire cast did an excellent job. Outside, they was a concession stand selling hot dogs, popcorn, soda, lemonade, nachos, and more. Our group got them all. They also sold snow cones inside. There was another booth selling merchandise. I wish they had a water station since it was a hot night. This was a family friendly show that both kids and adults would enjoy. They are performing in Roseville till the end of August and then moving to Folsom next month in September. read more

It's pretty fun for what they call a Circus these days. This company has been around for decades. It's set up in the galleria mall parking lot. Plant of parking. Ticket sold online and at box office. Food and drinks basic. Popcorn and nachos. And of course Icees , cotton candy and souvenirs. read more

America's Got Talent in Folsom at Lakeside Church Circus Vargas!! These people are amazing and the show is exemplary. Outstanding staging, tasteful costumes and songs , clever audience involvement, a ringmaster who sings like an Andrew Webber musical, performers who take your breath away!! Wonderful fun for all ages. I could see it again and again! read more

We went to see Circus Vargas in Folsom, CA. We bought left side seats and had a good view of the performance. Luckily, there was a big fan behind us to beat the heat since we went for the afternoon show. The tent was small so any seats are good in my opinion. There were several different acts (unicycle, aerial rope, juggling, etc) but my favorites are the arrow shooter, Wheel of Death (2 people on rotating 2 wheels) and the Globe of Death (4 motorcycle inside the sphere). The ring master (Johnathan Lee Iverson) was great and he has a great voice! It was a fun afternoon to spend with family. read more

Took our grandgirls to the Circus at Sunrise Mall in Citrus Heights, Ca. 5/15/26. My 4 yr old granddaughter wanted to see their special guest appearance by K-pop Huntrix. I had bought her a Rumi Halloween outfit and she wore it to the circus. She was so excited when they came on stage. All the kids were singing to the Golden song. It was well worth the money to get vip seating. After their show they had pictures for $20 with the K-pop singers. My granddaughter is shy, so for her to be the first one up there for pictures tells you how excited she was. The circus performers were awesome, and the juggler was pretty amazing. read more

I took my kids to see the show they have in Folsom. Good fun solid show for the family. They had a cool rope act, bow and arrow act, and the dirt bikes were the highlight. It was entertaining and I thought for a family show it was good. I also forgot to mention the unicycle performers were great. This is not Cirque du Soleil but a good solid fun show. My kids had a blast! read more

Show is great, super impressed with the setup and the performers. The show is about 2 hours with a 20 minute intermission? and of course circus snacks and light up wands and that sort of thing. No animal acts or scary clowns. The ringmaster did the best rendition of Star Soangled Banner I have ever heard. There was a goofy guy named Steve who was the "clown" entertaining the crowd. Now for those of us with sensitivity issues: wear earplugs, especially for your kids. I recommend Loop on Amazon, Very loud with the noise, not worth the ringing later. Second, it's either flashing light or dark. Keep that in mind. Kids may be scared. Third - parts of the parking lot are rocky/dirt so mobility may be a factor. Didn't really notice handicapped parking or ramps. Probably can't bring in a stroller. read more

Didn't know the hours. Wanted to take my daughter but there was no staff around 8pm. The website didn't display the hours of the show.

I'd give a negative 10 if I could. Not only were there fewer quality performers and acts than years prior, but this year's 'circus clown', Steve, was grossly inappropriate in his 'humor', performing hip gyrating and humping motions during his skit in the ring, making lewd gestures and motions towards both women and men. It was disgusting. This is a FAMILY EVENT, geared towards children. Shame on Circus Vargas - my 11 and 16 year old daughters were so bothered and confused why they would act that way...even the circus is no longer a safe place for kids to just be kids. We will not be back. read more

Sorry to report... I've been taking my family to see this family run Circus Vargas at least 4 or 5 times for the last 6 years or so. We always enjoyed it until yesterdays opening performance in Folsom, CA where they left out 2 of their most entertaining acts done previously. They did not have their trapeze artists or the wheel of death acts! Two of my family's favorites. Also, they had electrical problems 2 times during the show where the lights went off and no audio was playing. What's happening? I saw some families leaving during this time. While the other acts were ok, the only act causing any suspense and marvel for my family was the 4 daredevil motorcyclists in metal globe act. The Ringmaster singing the national anthem was very good. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to see this circus anymore. So disappointed with the amount of thrilling acts provided this time vs our previous visits to this circus. I thought the acts should stay the same quality or perhaps get even more modern or better. They just got worst with fewer acts. By leaving out 2 of my favorite acts, for the money, I feel this circus is really not worth attending anymore. Very disappointed. read more

After my older daughter saw the "Wheel of Destiny" or also known as the "Wheel of Death" performed at a previous Circus Vargas show in San Luis Obispo and couldn't stop talking about it, my younger daughter really wanted to go see it so we bought tickets for a Friday 4PM show. The show was roughly a third full and for some reason they decided to not perform the "Wheel of Death". I immediately told my daughter that they must have been sick which is why we didn't get to see it performed. Of course at the end of the show we performers who perform the "Wheel of Death" get introduced and they take a bow - even though they DIDN'T PERFORM. Of course we find out later that at the more well attended show later on they performed it (as well as the night prior). Pretty awful experience trying to explain to a kid why they didn't perform the headlining act... read more

Love this circus. The acts are amazing!! We got "VIP ring side" same day!!! Up close and personal! We are so amazed by these amazing talents. We saw some new acts and were blown away. I love that there is still a circus to go to. Kids and adults enjoying a hours of awesomeness!!! The concession food is good too. The kids love the snow cones as they come in a blinking light cup. You can also get popcorn, nachos, coffee, cotton candy... there was face painting also. The talent also does the concessions and face painting and bounce house so you can meet and greet on the intermission. I recommend this circus. Even for a date night!! read more

Visit: Monday, August 2022 There was still a good amount of empty seats It was a cool day outside, but inside the tent it was pretty warm, the AC was no where to be found. You can purchase food outside the tent and inside before you actually enter the main tent. Every seat seems to be a good view of the stage however, if you sit further back, you can see the performers at the very top much better than those sitting directly in front of stage. Each performance was cool, they executed the end result even tho it took a few/several tries. Costumes were nice. It was thrilling, some comedic moments, fun for all ages. read more

Worst show on earth!!!! Save ur money, it was awful beyond awful. I've been to many circuses in the past, even circus Vargas a few yrs ago but this was soooo disappointing! The acts weren't very spectacular or captivating. Stuff on AGT were better. It was more like a musical circus, singer, dancers and saxophonist, not exactly what you'd expect at a circus. The inbtw acts/fillers were painful. We had front center VIP seats ($90/seat) but could have sat anywhere and had a good view, place was 3/4 empty. Be prepared to get ripped off at concessions, popcorn was $15 for large. Save ur money and 1.5 hrs of ur life, ur welcome! read more

It's Was Awesome from the moment the show started until the end none stop entertainment. Just to hear the Ring Master sing the national antem was worth the price of admission. Breath taking action! Goosebumps from the very start! The kids were even more shocked at some of the very well performed stunts!

If you're craving some wonderous fun and excitement for all ages, cruise to the Roseville Galleria parking lot, in front of Macy's, for two hours of jaw-dropping, heart-stopping, adrenaline-packed talent. The Vargas circus is in town, and they are loaded with unbeliveable human capacity and star-gazing beauty. There are no animals involved, only the impressive abilities of the human body, team-work, and enough energy and enthusiasm to keep your feet stomping, your arms raised to the top of the tent and your voice zealously resounding with the playful clowns and the larger than life ring leader. The ring leader has an unfaltering voice of a champion. When he speaks, you listen. When he sings, you applaude him. You applaude the entire troop from start to finish and leave the performance with loads of conversation, satisfaction, and recommendations for others to also experience this awe and delight! Thank you, Vargas Circus, for all of your hard work and for enlivening us with smiles, amazement, and magic! read more

False Advertising - Buyer Beware Rip-off... the seats advertised as "general admission" seats for a low price are not the general seating at all... they are two small sections... the absolute worst seats on the far right and far left... the view of the stage is blocked by a giant pole. To get a regular seat... where your view is not blocked... they try to do an "up sell" at the box office... for twice as much. Rip-off!!! Also, they advertise discounts and don't honor them. Very deceptive. They advertise one free child admission for each adult admission. At the booth they did not honor this. The advertisement clearly says one free child "per adult" ticket. But at the booth they limited it to one for each advertisement you bring in. So if you have three children with you... they will make you pay full price for the second and third child. Or worse, give you no discount at all!!! I understand that the circus may be a hard business... but the solution is not to cheat the customer. Bottom line... if you want to pay $30+ per person - adult or child- to see a small traveling circus show, in a tent at the mall, go ahead. Then expect to pay way extra for everything else - like $4 for a bottle of water - your kids will be asking for. If you are expecting a good deal like they advertise, stay away. Before writing this review I spoke with a manager... thin with blondish hair and a nice customer service smile... I told her of my concerns about the false advertising. She just smiled and told me I was wrong! With the clear language of the promotion right in front of her she had the nerve to give me the customer service smile and tell me I was wrong. The worst. Update: i just looked at my credit card receipt. I was actually charged for four adult tickets. I received NO discount for the coupon. What a rip-off. read more

Went a few days ago in Folsom. Show was about 2 hours long. Got the bleacher open seats for $22, the least expensive tickets, and it was still a great view! Seats were uncomfortable after about an hour in, so keep that in mind if you have a bad back. You might be able to bring in a seat cushion. They also offered a bit more expensive tickets for "better" seats down closer to the stage and possibly more comfortable. The show was great! I thought it was a good time and worth the money and there were some very talented acts! Good music, good lighting, a great production for a tent show. Definitely felt like a real circus. This was my very first "real" one and I'm glad I went. I wasn't quite sure what I should have been expecting but Circus Vargas really exceeded my expectations. There were some parts that felt a little drawn out and borderline annoying but they were few and far between. The overall experience made up for that. Thanks for visiting Folsom, Circus Vargas! read more

Sept 29th....This year we decided to enjoy the show under the tent at the Galleria Mall. WOW, this year was so much different than last year. The staff seemed to be new. I didn't recognize any staff from last year. I recognized a couple circus talents from last year and others seemed to be new to my eyes. Of course the theme this year was PIRATE...all played out smoothly. The clown main entertainer had me laughing more than lasts years main entertainer. He was funny and funny and funny. The trapeze had a double person at a single time, which had me with anxiety watching them both flip flopping on the same bar routine. WOW, talk about synchronizing.... During one of the intermissions between acts, the clown called a few people into the ring for some silly entertainment, in which Van was picked. So hilarious. This year there was a gentleman performing in a bathtub with water. A little different, but very well played out. We will be back next year, for sure... read more

It's the Circus Vargas Express, all aboard! This show exhibits how amazing and weird humans can be. The first part of the show is good and has the more classic circus acts. The second half is incredible because of the Wheel of Death and dirt bikes. The wheel of death had me gasping out of fear for the performers and laughing at the sheer beauty. The host clown was great, but the other clowns were not funny and borderline misogynistic. Hopefully, they get electric dirt bikes in the future. I didn't enjoy inhaling fumes. The tent gets hot so sitting lower is better. The staff are polite and professional. My 4 year old absolutely loved it and still talks about it. Take your family! read more

Great live circus. Amazing performance and great price. Family had a blast. Best icee ever

The show was actually very entertaining for the parents and kids. Our kids loved the short skinny guy's antics. The acrobatics were pretty amazing--not what we expected from the small tent that we have been seeing for years around this time of year in the Galleria parking lot but never bothered to visit until this year. We bought the "cheap" tickets since we didn't know what to expect and didn't want to spend $100+ on admission alone, but it turned out to be a good idea. As long as you arrive 30 minutes early, you'll get great seats and a great view. Be ready for the kids to ask you to buy the following from the sellers walking around: light-up swords and balls, snow cones, popcorn, soda, cotton candy, hot dogs, etc. Try feeding them beforehand. read more

I don't know who had more fun, the adults or the children!! What a wonderful show from beginning to end! There were gasps and laughter galore! First time me and my son went to see this show and it was entertaining and loaded with a good time for all. Came here with family and young nephew a month ago. Lucky enough that Roseville was again sponsoring the traveling show for a venue, The ringleader and his wife both head and perform in this super family-oriented event. Not expecting much at all, but this event exceeded my expectations. Lovely to see some Cirque-like stunts, like that strong Asian boy wonder who grabbed the rope with one hand and twisted himself securely to perform death-defying gymnast badboy angles, and quite literally turn himself into Superman. Gymnastics acts numbered many, and kept remarking to my father how surprising the show was. Tis shame the temp under the tents was close to 90F for an hour into the show. Muggy night, red sno-cones for everyone to stave off the heatstroke! There was that crazy stunt they do in Ka where a nutso yet talented athlete climbs into and through and atop this steroid-enhanced pendulum plus...one of my very favorite acts. Of course trapeze acts have gotta be there. The motorbike artists who spin around at unimaginable speeds and lock themselves up in a steel ball of a cage, and then introduce their young son, who also rides in there too was a bit too much...had to cover my eyes. All in all, thumbs up for a circus that varies its acts enough to stay interesting and impressive. Glad I went, and surprised to see myself typing it too! It travels throughout, so check out the website! read more

I knew it was going to be hovering around the triple digits and I wanted to bring my elderly parents, so I called ahead to ask about temperature in the tent. "Climate controlled," she insisted. "Climate controlled." It turns out that she actually meant to say that they would have 5 fans going to keep the oven convection-like heat circulating. 5 fans to cool the entire tent. We would look forward to the rush of air when the performers ran by just to get a little more circulation. But when the performers had fire in their acts, we cringed extra hard for them. During intermission, we stood on the blacktop and talked about how much cooler it was outside. We caved and bought the $8 sno-cone. It was a block of ice with a dash of syrup poured on top. Still, it was cold to hold and watch melt. We tried not to think about how many other dripping sweaty asses had been in the seats before us, and how often they're cleaned. Because it was so hot, the seats were mostly empty. We moved at intermission to get better seats. Though every seat is close to the action, some seats have almost a completely obstructed view of the stage. Get there early to snag decent seats. Overall the show was fun and enjoyable. However, the banter and the dancing were amateurish. Gangnam Style shouldn't be used to get a crowd moving anymore, except ironically. The dress changing act that was on America's Got Talent was amazing. The acrobatic acts were impressive but largely not jaw-dropping or original. This is a traditional, basic, no-frills performance. I LOVE that it's an animal-free circus, though I felt awfully sorry for the sweltering performers in their tights and velvet. Overall, considering how much this costs, I would save my money for Cirque du Soleil next time. But if I had to go back, I'd bring a ton of ice water, a personal fan and a towel to sit on. read more
