The center focuses on developing the dancers beyond technical skills. With COVID-19 forcing the owners to downsize, the operation is now down to two dance studios/rooms. They're requiring masks and the use of hand sanitizer as you enter/exit. Both studios are cleaned between classes and the floors have markings for dancers to maintain distancing throughout classes. I seen that they had a snack bar. It was not open at the time of the field trip but I'm assuming it is for regular plays so that would be nice to check out. . Overall, it was a fun time. This is a traditional traveling circus with performances under a large tent. It's a family-friendly show which has no animals that lasts a little under 2 hours with a 20-minute intermission. The dancers, jugglers and high-wire artists all have impressive skills and kept everyone's attention. We fortunately brought along headphones for our granddaughter to protect her hearing. I have a sound level meter app in my smartphone which showed the sound was at or slightly above 85 decibels for most of the show, which is loud enough to cause permanent hearing damage especially in young children; I wore noise-canceling AirPods Pro earbuds myself. I thought since it was going to be in the 80s that day it might be hot and stuffy inside the outdoor tent with the audience and performers, but it was comfortably ventilated at all times. In fact, one of the acts included 4 motorcycle riders but I didn't smell exhaust fumes at all. The photos from the show were taken from our ringside seats, so our little granddaughter was easily able to see everything. My camera has a simple 35mm fixed lens, so I don't have any telephoto capability. Overall, I was very impressed with the quality and variety of performers and was very satisfied to have gone to Circus Vargas.

I've really enjoyed connecting with other theater moms and dads and working together on parent teams. I also like that parents are not involved in the classes. That means if your kid wants to do theater and you don't have the time to volunteer, you still have options for them. The teachers are passionate and highly capable. From what I've seen, they are immensely talented in their own fields. Each time one of my children takes a class, they definitely come away knowing more than they went in knowing, and it shows in their performances. Our oldest child has been involved with CYT over the past couple of years, and we have seen great growth in her singing and dance abilities, as well as her drive and work-ethic. We're definitely excited to introduce the siblings to CYT.
