Why would you not call a day in advance or what was the point of that since I was already about to be there? Lastly, the associate continuously spoke down to me referring to me as "honey". These predatory rules were designed and put in place by the executives. If they put as much effort into helping your customers as you did into ruining their day you would be a terrific financial services partner. I managed to make on time payments for 7 years and have excellent credit. A few months of having Eastern bank in my life turned my credit score upside down.

This has been a huge problem for two months, and nothing has been done about it. If you go to one of the branches or call customer service, they say they are working on it. This is not a big bug and should have been fixed in a couple of weeks; two months is unacceptable. You also cannot speak with anyone that will tell you when this will be fix.

I stopped in and they told me that the loan is in my wife's name. They did give me the payoff though. Seemed high so I asked them to verify payments received. Nope. It's her account. She needed to call in and give me permission to talk to them. OK. She did that about a month ago. Yesterday we tried to walk in and take care of everything. Got there at 2:05. Door was locked. Seemed they decided to close 4 hours early for black Friday. Nothing posted on line or on the door. Guess this is a new bank holiday. No problem. I called in today. After long hold times, I go thru the whole verification process to be told that they can't find the note from my wife. They can't call my wife. She calls in and since she is at work can't deal with the long hold times. They have a call back option. She leaves her number, they call back, and what ever happened at that point resulted in a really irritated text from my wife that said they S___. And now they are closed until Monday. If you are retired and can walk in, go for it. They are nice people and you are not just a number. DO NOT EXPECT service over the phone or the internet.

We had good experienced with Eastern bank and we have been a customer for more than 20 years. But today the teller is different. She is rude, not helpful, not informative, she doesn't know what she is doing. I wonder how she got that job. We gave her all required information she asked for wire transfer including "swift code". She asked us country code of the bank. I said we don't know and we asked if that is a bank thing. She said everyone knows. So I told her " then why didn't you know?" She didn't even know Bangkok is the capital of Thailand ( I am not lying) and she told us like we have to know that information. We left the bank without transferring money. I google it at home and the google explain very well where the country code and bank code are. It is in the SWIFT code we provided her.
