When I finally met with him, that man said he knew what to do and I spent some time with him after which he copied my ID and filled out what he said was the IRA form on his computer adding I would likely get approval from the bank that evening or by Monday. He then said would call me with the IRA account number asap And spoke at length about how wonderful Merrill Lynch was. Monday rolls around and no call. I call him again and he says I will have the IRA number by Tuesday but Tuesday comes and he calls and tells me I didn't complete "the form" and submit it. I said I had no idea what he was talking about and, trust me, he bold faced lied in telling me he had previously told me on Friday and Monday that I needed to submit "the form" which I again said I knew nothing about. He kept insisting I had failed to submit that seeming ghost form despite he's "repeatedly telling" me to do so. I then go to the bank and ask to speak with someone about this and was told I would have to see this same individual. Needless to say, I would advise anyone considering opening an IRA to avoid this bank like the plague!!!!!!!!!

****** caution *****…read more this branch phone number has been cloned by scammers saying they are from bank of america. they will tell you that someone applied for a charge in your name and give you the last 4 of your ss#, they got mine wrong. after they are done they will tell you that they are going to transfer you to a credit security company to confirm the lock out and "protect" you. these guys happened to name the one i use. so, during our chat i checked mine....no attempts. they are persistent...it took me a few minutes to get him to crack, but i got him. i learned some new foreign words.... this is the 4th time i've had this fraud attempted as bank of amerca. i contacted b of a and there were no records of a charge application. variants of the scam include checking on false charges on a b of a card i don't have....always check the phone number that pops up while you talk to them......

No info on how to go about it-she just basically dismissed me. So I made an appointment online. In the info box I wrote I needed to open an estate account. They sent me a confirmation email with the list of things I'd need to bring. I took the day off to make this appointment. I went in and they wanted my EIN number. I gave it to them. Then they said they needed an actual letter from the IRS. I've been asked a few times for this number- including the people that issued the check- none of them ever requested a hard copy of it. Why didn't they include that with the list of things I'd need?! They treat their customers like they're some kind of scumbag trying to pull something. I wanted to deposit it- not cash it and run out on them. They used to be good. I even referred a friend who opened an account with them. My family had been banking there since the early 80s when my mother worked for DEC. Great way to treat a loyal customer. I'm closing my accounts, paying off and canceling my credit cards, and going somewhere else.

I was forced to close out my account with SALEM Five Bank, because of repeated attempts to get into…read moremy online banking without success. Because I was out of the country (and still am) I was unable to go into the branch and withdraw my funds and then close out the account. Salem Five wrote my a check for the remaining funds (2,000 and some change). I was told the check would be good for a total of 3 years. The check was mailed to a family member, and eventually the check was given to me where it has been in my possession for the past year. I am still living internationally, while I finish my studies. October2019 my mother (who has account at same bank) visiting United States and volunteered to assist me in getting my funds, by depositing the check into her account and providing me the funds herself later on. I called Salem Five and spoke to Camille Inumerables, I provided her with the check number, the check balance, and the original check written date. She verified information over the phone. Camille verified with manager at Salem Five Bank if was possible for me to authorize the check to be deposited into my mothers account (a separate account at the same banking institution). The managers and Camille aka SALEM FIVE BANK confirmed that YES, they would be able to assist. They requested that I write a letter of authorization, and sign it. I did. When my mother went in they refused to deposit it, AFTER MAKING HER SIGN THE BACK OF MY CHECK. I would like SALEM Five Bank to Deposit the money, or cash it and give it to my mother. They ruined my check by making her sign it and now they haven't deposited it or cashed it. They made me write and sign an authorization letter and they verified and confirmed they would deposit it and now they won't. I NEED MY MONEY. THEY ARE HOLDING MY MONEY WHICH DOES NOT BELONG TO THEM.
