Don't go to this bank. I have been a customer here since 2012. My old employer used this bank as…read morehis main fund so I set up an account in order to be able to cash checks and have my deposits readily available. First issue I have is that, even after being a customer for that long, the bank was unable to cash a life insurance check for me in order for my dog to have life saving surgery. A random bank down the street that I had $26 in my account, was able to do it for me. Now, fast forward to this past Friday. I was trying to book a Disney trip for my kids and used a travel website. The total was $1500. There was $12,000 in my account. The bank shut down my account for "fraud" even after calling them to tell them it was me making the purchase and waiting on the phone with them to do so. I was on the phone for close to an hour trying to rectify this, as we were going to lose out on the flight deal. The bank let the flight protection plan of $120 go through 3 times, and our departing flights, but could not process our returning flights out of Jet Blue. The supervisor David, fought with me about how much my purchase was for because it was showing on his end that there was no purchase for $1500. On their end, the travel website was paying the proper parties for the departing/returning flights so it showed as multiple transactions versus one. The issue couldnt be fixed over the phone so I had to go into the bank. The woman at the bank was able to call the back office and release the "hold" on my debit card. The weekend rolls around after the bank is closed and my card is still being declined. I call today and I get a brand new person on the phone who's manager is "tied up" and then told I will be called back. When visiting the bank due to all of this, I was told how "lucky I am that a bank cares to protect me and my purchases and how it could be worse." So now, here I am on my fourth day, 3rd hour on the phone with Leader Bank to use MY OWN MONEY that I've been asking to use all along. All I know is thank god I didn't take them up on obtaining my mortgage through them.

I had been an Citizens Bank customer for eight years and then ended my relationship with the bank…read moreround 2010. I don't recall why I terminated my membership with a Citizens Bank but I was dissatisfied. I fix computers for restaurants. I had Aamir $250 check which was drawn from citizens Bank. It was a printed business check I had my identification I went to a local branch and took about 20 minutes for them to verify it. Then the smart ass behind the counter who appeared to be a teenager, informed me that there's a seven dollar fee to cash the check after you already begin the process and I had waited 20 minutes. He intentionally did not tell me that there was an unconscionable fee when I first requested to cash the check. There is no justification for seven dollar fee to cash a check when it's drawn from said bank. They have the money from my customer's business account. It costs citizens Bank more for me too received the check sign it and deposit it in my Bank of America checking account. That requires communication and transfer between two banking entities. However I saved him the trouble by going directly to my customers bank and get cash from them without involving my bank in the first place. I save the bank money and they charge me seven dollars for their convenience. I implore anyone whom is looking for a bank to avoid citizens Bank. If you are a business owner and you have a business account with citizens Bank be aware that you were short changing your contractors by at least seven dollars per payment. Citizens bank is not a community Bank. Citizens bank is not a local bank. Citizens bank is owned by united bank of Scotland. Two weeks ago I cashed two separate checks from a customer. This customer has two separate locations with two separate names and are two separate entities. I went to my local Eastern Bank in Lexington Massachusetts where I live. They verified both checks with the bookkeeper. They paid me a combined $600 in cash and didn't charge me any fees. There is no justification for charging me seven dollars to collect the money which I am entitled to from the bank in which the check was written. I will never become a Citizens Bank customer again. And if I receive a payment from a customer who uses citizens bank I will send the check back to them. Citizens bank is going to negatively affect my Boston area customers because I will not accept payments via business checks drawn from citizens bank accounts. Citizens bank attempt to bully folks into becoming a Citizens Bank customer. When did banking become so unethical?

The loan process was super easy and every person I worked with was caring, efficient and knowledgeable. I had such a good experience that when we needed another loan, we decided to go back to them. The second experience was overall just as good as the first. Really appreciate the fact that they treat you like a person and they get the process done in the timeline you specify. A special shoutout to Anna Metrik who helped close our loan on time even after one of her employees (who we were working with) needed to go out on an unexpected leave.

Your service for the most part has been satisfactory, with an occasional hiccup. About April 10th, we lost access to bill pay. We were told by an agent that there was a change in the system and it would be corrected shortly. We have spoken with your agents many times over the past few weeks, there is probably a record of our calls, and we have always received the same response, "Your problem has been ticketed and we will call you when it has been fixed." We have tried to be patient, but we have now reached a point of total frustration and we feel that as CEO, you should be informed of the incompetence of the individuals who are responsible for handling this problem. It is inconceivable to us that it should have lasted this long.
