Hire the Best Dog Trainer in Eugene/Spfld - Julia is an amazing dog whisperer. Our 8 yr old dog had…read moresome bad habits of barking excessively when he heard a noise outside or the doorbell rang. Julia showed us how to change that behavior and be the leader of the pack for our dog. He also was always underfoot (especially in the kitchen) which created tripping hazards. Within the first day of working with Julia our dog had created a new behavior and stayed out of the kitchen. We learned how to teach him how to be out of the kitchen without having to constantly yelling him "get out". Dogs don't understand that language. Julia is a pro at showing you what to do. We've already signed up for another session in a month and plan to attend her drop in play dates with other dogs. Thanks Julia for being so awesome!

Julia has a great teaching skill which is most important in dog training, as you're the one who is…read morereally going to be training your dog (after Julie is done training you). She has helped us with three very different dog personalities and sizes from a feisty/possessive 10 lb chihuahua to a submissive yet reactive 66 lb German Shepherd (and our little 14 lb terrier that just needs a little tweaking here and there). Julia's training style is not a positive/treat rewarding style per say-it's somewhat of a balance of btwn selective positive rewarding for "tricks" or abnormal behaviors (or fears) and quick corrections with tools (either a stick/extension of your arm or a specific style collar/leash that fits the needs of your dog). All 3 of our dogs have a different leash/collar & works perfect for each of them. The type of training is also about the mind set you're in. You don't wait to make corrections when they've done something wrong so many times that you're angry. You need to be focused and serious when you do have to correct. She also got us to kennel train when we're away which we didn't think would work out too well with our two small ones that have free roamed forever, but all three actually do very well and even sleep in there when we're home. Bottom line is if you're looking for a positive reward training only- that's not this. But if you're looking for something that strikes a balance but still allows you a great bond with your dog- then definitely try B the Leader.

we have used the end of life service from Terri Sue Wright . she was excellent. our animals were…read morecomfortable with her. and she treated them beautifully. currently our dog has seen her from six months old. she is now 8. we decided if we ever had a new pet, we would see her. yes, it is different. yes, it can be more expense. but is it? our dog is healthy. we follow her plan. the vet gets on the floor and checks the dog. while rubbing and talking to her. it is so nice. the dog is completely at ease. we go once a year for the annual check up. I don't buy flea treatments. she never has them. I get all information of healthy food. I do not have to brush my dogs teeth. they and gums are always good. she has no issues of constipation or runs. she never has dog breath, or smelly coat. i put all of this on her food. the staff here is wonderful also. it really is a great place.

I have nothing but good things to say about the vet techs and other staff. They were very attentive…read moreand responsive to all of our needs. Dr Terri Sue tried very hard to help our Basset who has numerous skin lumps. We'd tried Western medicine for years, which helped very little and she had great ideas about supporting our dog's health with raw food and supplements. Some of the treatments were a bit unconventional but I was willing to go for it and we had a lot of hope. Unfortunately, after six months, the treatment didn't help and she got worse. We decided to see a specialist at OVRA, who incidentally said she'd never seen a dog as bad as ours -- she had 22 lumps all over her body -- twice as many as when we'd started treatment with Balance. Unfortunately, when Dr Terri Sue found out that we were seeing a specialist (we told her), she said they would "poison" our dog and fired us as patients despite my attempt to use both modes of treatment to optimize Stella's chances for good health. That left a negative impression with me. I'm a health care provider and welcome second opinions and often send my patients to specialists. That she doesn't do the same unfortunately makes me think less of her as a professional and a doctor. I wish we could still see her because she has a passion to give animals the best care, but I feel she's very single minded in her approach to care.
