I was really hesitant to drive all the way here from LA to look at a car after I checked Yelp reviews. But, it was the car I'd been looking for (used) so I took the chance. I called the day before to set it up and made arrangements with Kiel (sp?) who was really nice and accommodating. I hate test-driving cars with salespeople...seems like they never shut up or stop trying to sell you on it. Kiel was chill, friendly...not aggressive. I decided I wanted the car but had one concern regarding a potential problem with the compression which was gving me pause. Kiel said he didn't want me to feel at all uneasy...had the manager draw up and sign a document saying that if I found a problem with the compression within a certain (very reasonable) amount of time, they would take the car back no questions asked. Sold. Brought it to my guy in LA who gave it a throrough once-over and declared it a "great car". Kiel followed up with me about a week later to check in and see how things were going....make sure I was happy with it. I am. This was by far the least stressful car buying process I've ever been through. read more

The one star is for the sales department. Basically they promised me a car in the color I wanted that they could not deliver on, causing me to pass on the same car (in another color) that was available at a cheaper price. They waited 4 days to let me know the sale had fallen through, and weren't at all apologetic that I had lost both cars. Unless you see it on the lot, I wouldn't count on getting anything except empty promises. I would give 5 stars to the service department, however, that I have used for the last 10 years. read more

IF I COULD, I WOULDN'T GIVE THEM ANY STARS. I purchased a 2006 Ford Mustang Convertible from this dealership on February 13, 2014. By March 1, 2014, the convertible top started leaking. I contacted the dealership to receive a resolution. I left multiple messages and sent numerous emails and received no response. During this same time, I had been charged the February payment for the 2012 Chevy Sonic I had traded in for the mustang. I called the dealership again and once more, did not receive a return phone call. I was finally able to talk to Sue Wilke in April AFTER I had to prevent the Sonic's March payment from going through and making me overdrawn on my account. Mrs. Wilke promised me that they had sent the check but Ally, the finance company for the Sonic, promised me that they never received the check. After numerous harassing phone calls to, not only myself, but also my parents, I gave Ally Mrs. Wilke's direct number. Finally by the end of April, I stopped receiving calls from Ally (OVER two months after I gave them the sonic and drove away with the mustang) and I received a call from Lompoc Honda's service department in regards to the leaky convertible top. Due to to my schedule and lack of communication, once again, from this dealership, I finally received a new top on May 30, 2014. Less than one month later, my car started making a rattling noise. I took it to a mechanic and found out that now my beloved Mustang had a bad Catalytic Converter, which is a $1,500 repair. Seeing as how, at this point, I had ONLY had the car for FIVE months, had driven it LESS than 5,000 miles, AND had nothing but negative customer service experiences, I assumed the dealership would help me out, even if it was only a little. Due to the price of the repair, any help would have been much appreciated, so I contacted the dealership. They basically told me that they have already "gone above and beyond" and are not responsible for helping me as this repair is "wear and tear." IF I had been driving the car for a while then I can understand the "wear and tear" but I had been driving this car for FIVE months. Needless to say, I was furious and disappointed so I reached out to the general manager. He then passed me off to the owner who absolutely refused to return any of my calls and/or emails. I have been trying to get in contact with the owner for about two months now and have yet to speak to him on the phone. I now understand why the customer service of this dealership is so bad. It starts from the top and flows downhill until the customer is left feeling betrayed, frustrated and angry. DO NOT BUY YOUR NEXT CAR FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!! Their website is a lie, they do NOT care about the customer experience and you are NOT family when you drive off the lot. I love my mustang but I absolutely ABHOR this dealership and EVERY single person that treated me as if I was a thorn in their side. read more

My review is for the service section. I currently live in the next town over, Santa Maria, and specifically avoid Santa Maria Honda (since I believe that they deliberately break things). After a bad experience with that Honda, I decided to come to Lompoc and they were great! Great, fast service. The people that work there are great. There's really nothing more to say than that. This is the way car buying should be! I have been looking for my dream car for some time, a Mustang GT convertible. To keep it within budget I wanted something used, but in great condition. I live in Sacramento and the prices where just too high. I expanded my search and found the perfect car at Lompac Honda! It was exactly what I was looking for and was thousands less even with 20K less miles than similar cars in my area. The next challenge was how to get there. My Salesperson Zack offered to pick me up at the airport, 45 minutes away!!!!. He was there with my car when I landed, and we drove to the dealership and completed the paperwork quickly and easily, I was in an out in under an hour! I was a little nervous to fly out and buy the car sight unseen, what if it wasn't as promised? Luckily, the car was EXACTLY as pictured and promised, mint condition. We had a very disappointing experience at Rocket Town Honda this past weekend. On Friday morning, we were heading back to Los Angeles after having camped at Lake Cachuma for a week. As we were leaving the lake, our 2016 Honda Civic started making a loud grinding noise which sounded like it was coming from the engine. We decided to drive to the closest town (Solvang) & stopped at the first repair shop we found. At this point we were told that our brand new car had a broken wheel bearing which needed to be repaired before we could drive the car home. We called Rocket Town and spoke to Gracie whom wanted to schedule our apt for the middle of this week even after I explained our situation to her. We asked to speak to the Service Dept at which time Daniel "with the hat" picked up. He was very friendly and stated that we could come in and have the car repaired first thing in the morning. We reiterated that we were from out of town and had nowhere to stay the night, at which time he said we could drop the car off at the dealership for the night? We ended up accepting to come in the next morning (since we had no other real option). When we arrived the following morning Daniel greeted us and quickly had the car taken back, he even notified us of an emergency break recall that they would take care off for us. We asked Daniel if we could get any help covering the cost of our hotel, since this was an unexpected expense for us, which he declined and notified us that since he was the supervisor, no one else could approve any compensation. He then offered free shuttle device for us to go have breakfast, which we accepted. We were dropped off at a restaurant about a mile away and decided to walk around a bit after breakfast to kill some time with our 6 year old son. We waited 2 1/2 hours to hear back regarding our car (which we thought was normal, as we were initially told it would be a couple of hours). At this time my husband sent a text (as he was indicated to do), so that the shuttle would come pick us up. 30 mins went by and no one came. My husband called the dealership 3 times during the next hour to find out what was happening at which Misty could not tell him. She could not provide an update on the car, could not find Daniel and could not send out the shuttle to pick us up. She insisted that we wait to speak to Daniel. We finally decided to walk the mile back to the dealership. 2 blocks before we arrive another gentleman by the name of Daniel called us back without a clue as to what was happening or who we were. While trying to get transferred to the correct Daniel, we received an incoming call. Daniel "with the hat" stated he was calling us to tell us the car would be ready in 20 mins (this is 4 hours after we dropped it off). When asked, he told my husband that he NEVER received any calls or messages from us. He then sent the shuttle to pick us up and drive us the rest of the way. When we arrived, no one said a word to us and after 20 mins another girl brought our paperwork and keys to us. Daniel did not even bother to look up when we walked out. As we are pulling out of the dealership Danielle called us to f/u on the "urgent" calls we had made an hour before. I am very disappointed in the lack of customer service and compassion provided. I have also contacted Honda to make a formal complaint and was disappointed in their response as well. Everyone is pointing the finger at someone else regarding compensation. This negative experience will be of great influence when purchasing any future vehicles. read more

My family has been buying Hondas and having them serviced here for decades. We've trusted these guys so much so that as a teacher in San Francisco, I always schedule my car service around winter and summer breaks when I visit my family so I could get everything done here. So when they told me I needed new tires last winter I trusted them. Within the week, my check tire pressure light came on and I got out to find myself with a flat tire. I went to the nearest tire shop who told me there was nothing wrong with the tire itself, it had just been put on wrong. I was concerned and told Rocket Town Honda. They apologized and offered to reimburse me for any labor costs. Luckily the tire shop had not charged me anything. Then, about two weeks ago, my check tire pressure light came on again and I stopped by that same tire shop. Within an hour, they told me I had a nail in my back tire and it would need to be replaced. However, they could tell the tires were new and suggested I go to Rocket Town and utilize any sort of warranty I had on them. So I made an appointment and came in the day after Christmas. The appointment took three hours, even though I informed them of which tire was the problem and why. Despite what the tire shop guys had told me, Rocket Town told me they were able to repair the core of the tire and it did not need to be replaced. Less than a week later, the light came back on. Sure enough, the same tire was leaking air. I called Rocket Town who informed me I never had a warranty on the tire and there was nothing they could do beyond continuing to patch the tire. While this would be an unsustainable suggestion for anyone, I was especially affronted as I had already made clear that I did not live in the area. Anyone suggesting I drive 300 miles on a leaking tire so they could repair it once a week is beyond insane. So I went back to the tire shop to replace the tire and they informed me that the nail was still in the back tire. As far as they could see, nothing about the situation had changed since I had last seen them. I couldn't believe it. So I am not sure what Rocket Town did in those three hours they had my car, but they are certainly never going to see my car, or any of my family's cars, for service again. Knowingly sending me back on the road with a damaged tire in order to save them from having to replace it with a warranty I am sure I have is unprofessional and unsafe. Beware! read more

Requested pricing on a 2017 Honda Civic Touring from USAA and TrueCar in Cosmic Blue Metallic. Next day received a reply form Ron Hirzel that they didnt have that trim level in that color but did have a 2016 with 2,800 miles on it (MSRP= $27,335/Sale Price $24,780). We arranged to view the vehicle and test drive on 24 Mar 17. After a little negotiation and receiving Honda Military Retiree Cashback off the price and 0.9% Honda Financing I am the proud owner of this wonderful vehicle. Ron was great to work with even spending time explaining so many of the features this car has available. After taking a short trip to Buellton on the way back to Lompoc the Tire Pressure Light went on. Returned to dealership and the car was looked at immediately (too much air in tires after heating up from the drive) and I was on my way 10 minutes later. I Cannot express what a great interaction I had with Ron and the Rocket Town Dealership. Highly recommend giving them a chance to win your business. read more

My recent purchase at Lompoc Honda was one for the books. I contacted the sales dept to pre-negotiate the purchase of a used car they had in stock that was on the internet. My transaction was handled by Kiel, who called me back with the terms I required to move the sale forward. The price I paid was over $5,000 under Bluebook retail and they were even willing to have me complete my sale that evening and drive off with the car even though my pre-approved loan with USAA would not be attainable until after the weekend. My transaction was completed in less than an hour, from the time I drove onto the lot, to the time I drove off in my new car. With my transaction taking place after dark and in record time, I did not have time to carefully examine the car for any issues that needed to be addressed. I contacted the dealership that following Monday and provided them a punch list of items I wanted to be corrected. The Service Manager Rob provided a loaner car to use while they corrected the items listed, and others that weren't, I called Kiel, on his personal cell number he provided me, to give me an update as to when I could pick my car up. He answered my call, even though it was his day off, and had Mark in the body shop call me back in less than 10 minutes to inform me when I could pick up my car. Rocket Town Honda's service department is wonderful! I moved to Lompoc in December & my Acura needed to be serviced. The nearest Acura dealership was Santa Barbara & I wasn't excited about driving down there. So I emailed Lompoc Honda...twice. I didn't get a response so I called. The girl I talked to was very apologetic saying she never received my email. But she was extremely nice & made sure to get me in for service right away. I've been in 3 times since being down here & I have to say this last service appt was, by far, the best. My car needed quite a bit of attention due to the current mileage. When I called I talked to Dan....what a great guy! I was trying to get in on a Saturday but he let me know he had only 1 tech, and due to the extensive list of things I needed done, they wouldn't be able to get to it until Monday when they had a full crew. I totally understood & told him I'd bring the car in 1st thing Monday morning. When I arrived, Dan was busy with another client and Brandon (I think that was his name) got me checked in & went over everything they were going to do. Another great guy! When my car was almost done, Dan called to give me a heads up that my front brakes needed attention. I knew it was getting close to replacing them & he said that they were at a crucial point & needed to be taken care of, sooner rather than later. So I gave the go-ahead & he made sure that was completed. When it was finished he called & let me know & gave me the run-down on everything that was done & what the final cost was. When I picked up my car, Dan was so apologetic because they hadn't had a chance to wash my car yet, but told me to pop back in when I had time & they'd take care of it. Very nice! I told him it was no big deal, that I was just happy that everything got done & beings I had the work done at Honda rather than Acura (even though they're essentially the same) it saved me a lot of cash. Extremely disappointed with Lompoc Honda Customer Service. I bought a Cadillac Escalade with them in Sept. 2011, it had DVD Entertainment, Nav System, back up cam, all the bells and whistles. We bought the best extended warranty that was offered to us (my wife and I). In April of 2012 I had an ignition issue with the car. Lompoc Honda Service Department was great on getting it fixed under the warranty, but upon fixing the ignition more problems arose with the stereo equipment, to include the remote start, which we never knew we had, and were never told existed in the car. When we took it back to get these problems resolved it was told to us that none of the electrical systems involved with this trouble was in fact not "factory" and will not be covered under our warranty. I am a military member and I am leaving for Colorado in 6 days and leaving my wife here for a bit. So because Honda won't fix our problem, and we are not comfortable with the viability of the vehicle I have to leave her carless. The dealership basically brushed us off telling us that because we bought it "as is" we are stuck with it. I feel that this is not right to be treating us like this, at least offer to fix the problem, offer a rental car until this can get resolved. needless to say we are extreemly disabpointed with this experiance and wont be recommending the dealership to others who ask. read more

I bought a brand new car from this place last year. I got a flyer in the mail that advertised a $28 oil change (it normally costs me $60 at other places) and free tire rotation. I made an appointment during my lunch hour after I was told it would take about 70 min to perform the job. Awesome, or so I thought. When I dropped off the vehicle, I let the cashier know about the coupon. She didn't see the free tire rotation coupon and tried to persuade me to get their silver package, which would be a better deal. When I told her about the other coupon, she seemed perturbed then told me the tire rotation with coupon doesn't include balancing. What? Don't those go hand in hand? I then asked how much the balancing would cost and she tells me it's the same price as the tire rotation and balancing. Seriously? That voucher needs to say no balancing then. So shady. Just ridiculous. And to top it off, it took over 2 HOURS to do the work. Got there at 11:00 and drove away at 1:35. Never going back. Oh and last time I was there, I got coffee and there were ants all around the sugar. Don't get the coffee. read more

Bought a new car here over a week ago and have not got to enjoy it. It has been in their shop for the past week. They sold us the car with wrong software in the radio system and have no explanation as to how it happened. They say "I've never run into this problem in my life". So it's just "unlucky" us I guess. When we call for updates, they give excuses or tell us the same thing we heard the day before. They have now started saying they're waiting on lead techs in LA and Detroit to get back to them but apparently they only speak once a day and say it's because of the three hour time difference. Kristy the service manager is a liar and unprofessional. I do NOT RECOMMEND either Lompoc rockettown honda or jeep Chrysler dodge. Nothing but a headache and I regret ever signing a contract with them. We should have went to Santa Maria! EDIT: details The day we bought our 2017 Dodge Journey- 05/26/17, Our salesman Mike let us know that Sirius radio capabilities were apart of the car purchase and that we would receive 1 years subscription free. He gave us the pamphlets and told us we could set it up. When we tried, there were error codes. We brought the car into him the next day for him to look at it and instead he told us to come the following Tuesday 05/30 after Memorial Day so the tech could look at it with our xylon appointment. That Tuesday, after having the car all day, they still didn't get to it so we brought it home. We brought it back the next day again and called before the end of the day and nothing so they kept it. We called the next day--nothing new. Kristy told me that it seemed to be a software issue and not the radio so all they needed to do was speak with the techs in LA to see how they would fix the problem. The next day we went into the dealership. We spoke to Kristy and the Chrysler district manager who was in for an unrelated reason and all he could say was that he had never seen this problem before. The weekend came and went. This Past Monday, we called them again and they ended up telling us that it was actually the radio and it needed to be replaced. We asked them to have it done asap because we are supposed to go on a summer vacation by Thursday morning! They called us the following day almost at closing to pick up the car. When we tried to operate the Sirius function ...there was NONE. It was completely gone. We went in to ask how to work it and they ended up (only upon us asking!) telling us that our car was never supposed to have Sirius and it was a mix up with the manufacturer whom put the wrong radio in our car. They did not tell us until we asked. That along with everything else makes this so extremely unprofessional. It took them almost two weeks with our car and even up to us finally getting back into it , we were told "it's good--everything works".... What was supposed to be a happy first brand new car buying experience turned into an ugly mess. The day after we got the car back, we went in to speak to rick and he told us to come back the next morning so that he could speak to kristy about rectification. When we arrived yesterday morning he wasn't there. He was in Goleta and we were told that he would be in 11-12. Again, unprofessional. So here we are today, writing this after being up at the dealership all morning. I am completely appalled. To add to it : the owner reached out to me on yelp days ago to let me know that a radio was ordered and it should all be "fixed"... ha...go figure. Take the drive and go elsewhere military families to purchase your vehicle!!! We sure will when we trade this sh*t in sooner rather than later! read more

Bought an AMAZING - so I thought car here. An okay deal, found chocolate stains in between seats and kids chewed candy underneath seats, yes, found a candy ring and more. Really? you couldn't have gotten a better clean before I bought it?I cleaned it better with my vacuum. Also took it in and needed transmission fluid changed after 2 weeks after purchase? The service department, specifically Manager Justin Shores, went out of his way to manage this major car repair to ensure that everything was done right. I recently within a week bought a truck from lompoc honda and have been in and out of the dealer on a daily first trucks abs unit kicking in and tugging the steering wheel out if my hand back major safety second truck wouldn't pass smog test third cutting the alarm system wiring fourth annoying screeching from under the hood fifth the brakes are squealing non stop I've only put around 150 miles on it since I bought it im getting no where with the staff there. Worst experience ever! After purchasing my brand new 2016 Honda Accord Sport from them I had a loud wind noise coming from the passenger door. Justin in the service department was unable to find it after 5 attempts. He went as far as saying that I was hearing things. Honda of Santa Barbara found the source of the noise, ordered the part and corrected the issue on the FIRST TRY! Honda of Santa Barbara's service department trumps Lompoc's. Justin was rude and said that he couldn't stomach talking to me after I filled out a Honda survey explaining how inefficient Honda of Lompoc's service department is. I assume they only want you as a customer if you will lie on a feedback survey because they retaliated and said they would no longer take me as a customer after I completed mine. Blessing in disguise. DON'T GO TO HONDA LOMPOC! Save time and headache and go to Santa Barbara...or anywhere else! read more

CAR BUYER BEWARE! The check engine light came on 1 days after purchase and Honda Lompoc immediately contacted. The 2005 Toyota Corolla was taken for serice to Lompoc three times, and supposedly fixed. After many calls to the sales person, service manager & owner, the vehicle is still not fixed 6 wks later. Upon several occasions I was informed not to worry about it, it is only a check engine light and perfectly safe to drive. In other words, ignore it. This car was purchased for my teen, and the last thing I want is my child driving an unsafe vehicle. Upon one occasion, I was scheduled, took the car in, and there was not anyone there to work on it. I am driving from Santa Maria to Lompoc, about 40 miles round trip, and taking time off from work to do this. They then told me they could not fix it and referred me onto Toyota Santa Maria. It has now been into Toyota twice. The first time Toyota said there was an unfixed recall unrelated to our complaint that they fixed and possible the torque converter. When we got it back the engine light was still on. It was taken back to Toyota a second time; the diagnostic code revealed probably the torque converter, or another issue. They said they would have to get into contact with Honda Lompoc to authorize the repair. That was 2 weeks ago and still within the 30 day warranty period. I have not heard anythig from Honda Lompoc. Toyota says Honda is not responding to the request for repair. They are now ignoring calls. High pressure sales and abhorrent service. That is Lompoc Honda. read more

I'm pretty disgusted, I got a lot less for my car as a trade-in because the Carfax report showed 'Inconsistent Mileage'. This because Lompoc Honda didn't record my mileage and used what it was 2 years before plus 1 mile. 12/13/2014 96,951, On 10/01/2016 137,980 miles (smog inspection) and then on 11/03/2016 96,952 miles. The dealership we were buying from said "we don't know if it was just a mistake or if the odometer was rolled back so we can only offer you less money". We were dumbfounded how it would show so much less. We took their lower offer but then when we got home we paid $39.99 for a Carfax report and then caught where the discrepancy came from. I had the passenger airbag replaced (Takata airbag) on a recall with Honda and they entered the mileage as 96,952 but two years before I had a new key and FOB made at Honda and they entered the mileage as 96,951. They forgot to record the mileage when they did the airbag so they just entered 1 mile more than two years before! I went to Honda to talk to them about it, showed the guy in the service department and he said wait over there for the manager, twenty some minutes later I walked out without seeing anyone. I would really think hard before buying from them they make a big deal of being a Christian dealership but it seems they are a little lacking in that department. All I wanted them to do was correct their intentional mistake and pay me the $39.99 I paid for the Carfax report, I wasn't asking for the $1,000 or so dollars they cost me on the trade-in. I bought this Civic from Lompoc Honda, you would think of anyone they would treat their customers who bought from them better. read more

I can say nothing more than salesman Ron Hirzel really went the extra mile. I hesitate to use the word "salesman" as he really didn't try to sell me on anything. The Honda product sells itself and he is more like a broker. I knew what I wanted and he was able to give me the lowest price from Bay Area to San Diego. I truly did my shopping around and came to the conclusion that this dealership and Ron weren't trying to play games or swindle me out of my last dollar. Ron got me exactly what I wanted, and then some at no extra cost to me. Due to some special circumstances regarding my work schedule, Ron was able to drive 66 miles, conduct about 5 minutes of paperwork and deliver my vehicle without any extra charge and/or drama. Ron Hirzel is a very friendly and down to Earth person and he treated me like a person and not like a sale. Where do I even begin. If your looking to buy a car from a friendly establishment, I would highly recommend you avoid this dealership. There were employees just standing around, laughing while customers looked at cars. They made us feel very uncomfortable while waiting on getting prices on a vehicle. I only encountered one nice and friendly employee which was Seth. He was the only one trying to help customers. I was actually considering buying a vehicle there because of Seth. Once we're took inside that all changed. We had been told the car had not been in a accident and according to Auto check it hadnt. But we looked up the carfax, which we questioned the sales manager Justin about and he got very salty with us. He made it seem as though we made it up or that the carfax was not accurate. I knew the info about it being an a accident yet I still drove an hour plus to go check it out. But they clearing lie to people about conditions of cars and when you question that they really don't like it. While we were there we also heard Justin the sales manager talking down to his employee. Telling him how he gives him anxiety. It wasn't the right time to being having that conservation with an employee and especially when you have customers sitting there your trying to do business with. He should have focused on the employees he had just standing around. That were playing around and laughing. They even threw paper that almost hit one us in the head. I would not recommend lompoc honda. If your looking for a quality car and good service go else where. read more

I live in another state and bought a used Honda through a private seller and wanted to have it checked over mechanically by an official Honda shop. The service people who helped me were polite, honest, and they put my car into tip-top shape giving me a lot of peace of mind. Some sales people even said that they were bummed they couldn't resell the car on their lot because it was in such good shape, which gave me extra confidence in my purchase. Simple oil change. Had an early appt and was told it would only take 1 hour. Decided to wait since it's only an hour, right? They did offer a shuttle service to my home but couldn't pick me up until 6 hours later. The customer service guy(Brandon) was very polite although he didn't offer any information about where I could wait it out or offer coffee (free) or other snacks/refreshments that could be purchased. I only figured out the free coffee and possibility of buying a cold drink or snack by accident. It was actually almost a 2 hour wait although they have these awesome massage chairs in the waiting room with a t.v. and nice little faux fireplace. (I indulged on that massage chair) Finally when my car was finished and paid the cashier I was told my car was coming right up. I waited outside for another 15 min. However I was pleasantly surprised that my car was washed. So really my review score would be a 3.5 if I could. read more

He gave me about $100 military discount and had my suv ready two hours early. My suv drives like a dream, its almost like I bought a new vehicle. Definitely go there to get your vehicle serviced. Ya know, you can do all the changes to the outside of the building and the name you want, but it's still the people who work on the inside that counts. From the first phone call to the last handshake Ron Hirzel treated me like an old friend.
