So my gym is right next door and I've been coming to the Rose City Food Park for quite some time. Rocket Breakfast is one of the newer carts that has made its way over here. Carts come and go and I'm hoping this one will be here for awhile. I have eaten breakfast a handful of times here at Rocket Breakfast. Breakfast wraps, open faced breakfast sando, French toast roll-ups. I'm slowly making my way around the menu. There has not been one bad item thus far. It's kind of nice to finish my workout in the morning and just ramble over next door for a beverage from J. Vein Caffe (another cart) and a nice hearty breakfast wrap filled with eggs, bacon and cheese, plus jalapeños. It makes the morning that much better and their prices are right. Love this place. The breakfast burrito and quesadilla was so good. I got sausage and black bean burrito with hot sauce. And bacon quesadilla with black beans. I like that they open right when I'm getting off from work so I can grab something on the way home on the days when I feel like it. The staff is friendly and pretty quick. I just do wish they get better online ordering system. I ordered sausage burrito with black beans but they just made a black bean burrito. I think cause in person sausage and beans would be two separate add ons but in the website they make it seem like the burrito is sausage so I thought I just had to add on the beans. This was my third time going here and that was the first time I had a problem and also didn't like the burrito idk if it was the lack of sausage or what but the burrito was too wet and not as flavorful as first time I had a burrito from there. Cool little spot surrounded by other food trucks. It was really slow when we went so the wait was only about 10 minutes. I was really excited to try this place as I'm especially fond of food trucks. I was a little disappointed when we got here and saw how limited the menu is. Nothing really jumped out at me but I decided to try the breakfast wrap. My partner ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes. The pancakes were decent enough and the lemon sauce on the side was good but underwhelming. The wrap seemed to lack any seasoning at all. The ingredients were good and it was a decent size but it didn't have any real flavor. Even with the local hot sauce it was just okay. Not bad- just okay. I looove lemon, but for me the ricotta topping was just too sweet. It was tasty, don't get me wrong, but for this gal dipping my cakes in it tasted more like a very sweet cupcake instead of pancakes. Was told 30-40 minute wait. Waited longer than an hour to receive a Morning Bird Wrap, and Combo #2 which included an Open Faced Sando and 3 roll ups.... Terrible wait. Came here some weekday morning. There were a couple people waiting and a few more people came after I ordered, so it wasn't a completely dead time of day. It took almost 20 minutes to make a breakfast burrito/wrap and I swear there were three different people in the truck to, one guy seem to be there just for taking orders. The wrap itself was huge. At least two normal servings , which justified the high price of the wrap. Unfortunately, when things are this big and not easy to make well, the hashbrowns, potatoes, or whatever were crammed all the way in the bottom along with the bacon. When I am at home I can eat an entire jar of lemon curd with a spoon. I am delighted to discover that a thin ribbon of lemon curd on a pancake is just as good. Also at home I prefer tap a too hot sauce. Hahahahah, make that Tapatio hot sauce. Oh, computer brain yer killing me. They had Louisiana hot sauce on the case idea. This little cart is so cute! Found it through a lovely link on here! I ordered the open face eggs sandwich and the lemon ricotta pancakes! So it was pretty quick as I got lucky no line! When I got my food. It smelled so good! I didn't even make it home before I dug in! The sandwich was hot and perfect. I ordered mine without tomatoes and medium for my eggs! Delicious! Next I dug into the pancakes! A good size smaller but not to small! They put the lemon sauce on the side which was nice! I used it as a dipping sauce. They were light and yummy! Rocket breakfast was nearby and I thought I'd try it out. Everything I had was a win! Lemon ricotta pancakes that everyone gets is fantastic. Very light and not too sweet. It comes with 4 pieces about the size of a beer coaster. I also got a rolled French toast roll. Reminds me of the French toast sticks (and about the size) that Jack In the Box or Burger King (can't remember) came out with years ago but I'm sure better quality and you get fillings! My first choice for breakfast when I'm in Portland. I shared a breakfast quesadilla with bacon and an order of lemon ricotta pancakes with my Mom who hadn't been yet. We also took a bacon breakfast wrap back home to my sister. We met the owner who recommended all of the dishes we ordered and helped cook and personally served us. The food was clearly very fresh and prepared on the spot . The owned insisted I try their fresh homemade pico de gallo on the quesadilla and he was right on the money. The portions are -very- generous and well worth the already reasonable prices and probably over deliver. great bang for your buck. I appreciated that they serve your food on real dishes with actual silverware when you eat on site. Okay, so first of all, I just finished working out and when he handed it to me I almost dropped it it was so much heavier than I ever imagined. Great first impression but what about the flavor? Nothing is worst than getting a large serving of bland food. Not the case here! First bite was packed with sausage, Pico, egg, cheese the list goes on. Next bite I got done chili flakes and had tossed some Cholula on there and it was game on! This thing was GOOD and I had so much left. About 3/4 off the way done it won't from breakfast into a self challenge too see if I could finish the thing. Came here with Portland's pickiest 7-year old eater, expecting her to perform her usual acts of food drama. Skeptical, she perused the menu anyway, fully anticipating disappointment. Then she saw it: Nutella Stuffed Pancakes! Featuring "3 large pancakes stuffed with Nutella drizzled with house made Boston cream." The result? One over-stuffed and satisfied kid, two extremely happy parents. While I would generally leave such fare to the kid, I couldn't help but take a couple (ok maybe 9) bites myself. 100% Heaven. I went searching for breakfast places around our airbnb and was happy to see this place was not even five mins away. What caught my eye was the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, then I saw the Nutella Stuffed Pancakes and I just had to go! That morning it was raining, windy and cold. We actually had said "for here" to eat and did stick it out for the most part, but had to take a couple pancakes home. Those Lemon Ricotta Pancakes were AMAZING! I've never had something like that before. I was kinda scared that the ricotta taste would overpower the lemon, but I didn't taste much to any at all. The lemons were there, tho. But it was a good amount. It just worked. The nutella stuffed pancakes were also good. They were warm so when cutting into the pancake, the nutella just flowed right out. It's making my mouth water just sitting here trying to write this, lol. We also got bacon and eggs which were done just right. I also ordered orange juice too. It all came out to $20. Such a filling, amazing breakfast for a really good price. The service was wonderful! The girl who took our order was kind, friendly, chill. She didn't rush us, she made us feel welcomed. Really cool people there. Oh this place isn't in a building; once again Portland had me fooled, but thankfully Yelpers took pictures of what this place looks like so it was easier to find. My fiancé and I got the open-faced sandwich as well as the lemon ricotta pancakes (extra lemon curd) and everything was done perfectly. I asked for the eggs to be over medium, where the yellow is jello-ey, and although usually they're either too over cooked or too underdone, this place nailed it. Perfect And the pancakes? I ended up here, because the breakfast burrito place I usually frequent wasn't open and this was the first suggestion on Yelp. I wasn't impressed by the bacon breakfast wrap. The texture and taste of the egg, bacon, and potatoes all blended together. It basically felt like it was just an egg wrap. I came a second time because the burrito place I go to was closed again and I really was craving one. I got the breakfast wrap from here with both bacon and black beans and it was a lot better! I felt like the beans added some much needed texture and it had more bacon. I'd definitely get it that way again if my normal place isn't open, but what surprised me were the lemon ricotta pancakes. They were DELECTABLE, the BEST thing I've put in my mouth in a while.
