I walked in not knowing much about windows. Mike patiently answered all of my questions. Once I decided on Marvin Ultimate windows, Mike worked in a very detailed and organized way to get the proper measurements from my window installer and to finalize the many design decisions that I needed to make. This was a huge purchase and I appreciated how much time Mike took to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. After the window order, Mike worked with me for months to order the other materials. He also took great care. For example, he helped me order custom pocket doors with stile and rail sizes that match my other interior doors. He helped me problem solve. For example, the bottom of my interior doors needed to get cut because of my contractor's framing and Mike explained how I could do that without damaging the door. Overall, Dolan Lumber and Mike were invaluable for my whole house remodel. The difference between Dolan and other stores is that Dolan will respectfully and carefully work with you to get you what you want.

Unfortunately, when the delivery date started to roll around, I was notified that there was a delay, and that delivery would actually take another month. Disappointed for sure, especially since there was no explanation. When the door finally came, it was first delivered to their preferred paint shop, Sal at Limitless Painting. Then, after Sal was done, he delivered to my house. After that, the next day, one of Dolan's recommended installers came to install, Sead. Door was installed on that day. Then Sal came back to do touch up around the trim, etc. Sal and Sead were top notch. Great to work with, great work. Mike at Dolan's was also easy to work with and gave good advice. The only reason it's 4, not 5, stars is because of the 1 month delay with no real explanation. Other than that, smooth transaction overall, and we're very happy with the result.

He also gave me a quote for the exact door I originally ordered from Home Depot, in case I didn't want to upgrade anything. In both instances, there were multiple employees working at the front desk area on their computers. While they may have been busy, no one acknowledged or greeted us when we walked in. Even a simple "Hi, we'll be with you shortly" would have gone a long way. My wife spent about 10 minutes browsing the showroom during one visit and we still were not approached. We ultimately left both times without speaking to anyone. We understand that some showrooms operate by appointment, and if that is the standard protocol, that is perfectly fine. However, a quick greeting, asking whether we had an appointment, or offering to schedule one would have created a very different experience. We did not have this issue at Golden State Lumber or Ashby Lumber, where we were promptly acknowledged and assisted. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we will be moving forward elsewhere.

He rebuked my mother for nothing more than entering the store to make a purchase. He inappropriately questioned and accused them of entering the store as if they forced their way in through the security gate. He told them, "Who the hell do you think you are, coming into my store? You forced those doors open!" In reality, the door was unlocked, the security gate was open, and the lighted open sign was on. When my parents insisted they had done nothing of the sort, this employee continued to berate them. He was mistaken, and absolutely terrorized my poor mother instead of simply acknowledging his mistake. To add insult to injury, they weren't even the only customers or employees in the store! I was astounded upon hearing of this terrible experience from my family. This is no way to behave in front of customers, let alone speaking directly to them so disrespectfully and inappropriately. Especially to an older woman. One of the other employees had to apologize to my parents on behalf of this employee. Absolutely beyond inappropriate behavior from the employee, whose name is ADAM. I understand being concerned about security when operating a business on a busy thoroughfare, but it in no way justifies treating decent people so poorly. I'm concerned that as long as Adam works at Rockler in Concord, customers will be subjected to a painful experience. Beware.
