19 minutes on hold before I hung up.
    Paulie G.

I was looking for a vet in the area for my cat. I called to make appointment as first time customer and was told they require $70 deposit just to make an appointment. I didn't have my wallet when I first called. So I called back later with my credit card and explained I am a new customer. They put me on hold. Ok fine, I'm a patient person. However after holding for 19 minutes , that's right 19 minutes. (The length of a whole TV sitcom without commercials).. I decided to hang up and look elsewhere. This is not a place I feel is capable of providing "quality" care. If they can disregard a new customer (pet) so easily , imagine a regular customer(pet)?

Although I am a physician I am not familiar with this procedure in canines, but apparently open incisions are used to cut into the bladder for stone removal. My. Baby girl was discharged in howling pain, which was traumatic for my sister who had retrieved her. She had to return her to demand appropriate pain management for the dog as she was only given gabapentin and Rimadyl (doggie Advil). Even women who have cesarean sections are given strong analgesia for at least 3 days postoperatively. My baby suffered for days. I called the office the following day to get information regarding her diet going forward, as bladder stones can definitely recur. Not only was I not given any information, but I was merely switched to another person who just asked for my financials to make payment for the "extra (much needed) meds." I was given a generic receipt, so my insurance denied the payment, and I was NEVER given the invoice for the surgery, which was almost 3k and paid in full up front. I sent an email requesting the invoice, and to date they refused to respond, so I will not be able to submit for the reimbursement. When my son called the office he was told that they "didn't know" about the insurance- even though it is on file. Although they claim they will submit, I don't have much faith that they will. Further, why was this not handled from the beginning before they tortured my baby? If a human patient is treated this way there are patient advocates & lawyers promptly involved. I guess things are different in Veterinary Medicine.... But animals deserve compassionate care, too. Some people love their pets more than their spouses. In addition, pet parents should be counseled regarding the operative course, what to expect, and how to manage their pets post-operatively at home. My family, and especially my dog, were traumatized by this experience. This vet got good reviews on Yelp for some reason; maybe they are acceptable for routine well care visits and minor illnesses. But if you have a pet with serious illness or require invasive or surgical intervention I encourage you to seek another Veterinary practice.

He looked at her for a moment right in the eyes before sticking a thermometer up her butt. I believe they both looked at each other as if to say "I'm comfortable with you." The examination results and options to be considered were well explained and easy to make a decision upon. Mobile Vet has a tremendous reputation in the neighborhood and Dr. Howard is a well respected man of the community. Just to draw upon a quick example, a friend lost her dog a year back. She was frantic & she printed up Reward -Lost Dog- flyers. Mobile Vet gladly posted the flyer and upon the dogs discovery was returned to their office. I knew that he was in his last moments. We just wanted a diagnosis and most likely put him to sleep so he wouldn't have to suffer. No more than 5 minutes later, Dr Buchalter comes out and tells us that there is nothing he can do for him and (wait for it) , he tells us that our cat isn't worth our money and he wouldn't make it through the night. Now I understand that the Dr gave us an honest opinion, but I know that there's a better way he could have explained that. To tell us that our beloved cat isn't worth at minimum a diagnosis to my eight month pregnant wife is just cold hearted. To add insult to injury, he tells us that we can't even be in the room with him when he puts our cat to sleep. He then tells us a creepy story that the only time he did that was when he put a dog to sleep in front of the owner out of spite because the dog escaped his owner and got hit by a car. He wanted the owner to suffer. WTF! My wife was so upset and distraught she almost went into labor. My cat did survive the night and was taken to a Legitimate Vet the next morning. He was gently put to sleep in our loving arms by a compassionate vet . His diagnosis was cancer. That's all we wanted. Some answers and some kindness. And by the way, the secretary of Dr. Buchalter is his wife, and she's a totally Rude Nasty B**tch ! Always has been. I'll never refer this vet to anyone again. Take your beloved pet to a modern vet. Regrettably, the services provided by the current customer service department fall short of expectations. Customers are unable to directly contact the business, despite the presence of employees at the front desk who are not accessible. This situation is highly frustrating and counterproductive. It is evident that the primary objective of customer service, which involves answering phones, is being undermined by the inability to provide services at the business location. Furthermore, the business offers services at low costs, but these services are not actually provided. It is crucial to recognize that the business operates similarly to a primary care physician's office, where customers visit for their check-ups and all necessary medical records are readily available. Customers should not have to search for a new veterinarian or dog clinic, especially when they have been loyal customers for years. If there are no available appointments, a representative should provide a clear explanation. However, it is unacceptable that a customer service representative is not familiar with the business's criteria and cannot assist customers in finding future appointments. Instead of assuming responsibilities that are beyond their scope, customer service representatives should be trained to route customers to the appropriate departments. In my case, I am currently unable to make an appointments due to the lack of available appointments. Consequently, I must directly visit the business location to schedule an appointment.

I tried so many things to try and help her gain weight and gain the muscle strength in her hind quarters. It just came time when she didn't have the strength to walk or eat. Yup, I'm crying just remembering her last few days. She was my velcro kitty, meaning I couldn't go anywhere without her following me and constantly wanting to be held and cuddled. I miss her so frigging much. I'm not sure how much it would be to get a dog cremated, but it was under $200 for Mitzi and when I got her ashes back, they sent her paw prints, which of course makes me cry more because she had the most adorable feet due to having extra toes.
