Having the choice of a couple of builders, we chose Baumann, and have been very pleased. Responsive, they listened to everything we had to say, and when a change was warranted, they enthusiastically embraced it. And when the change would not have worked, they patiently explained why. And when they came back to us with a necessary change, they came with a good plan for what and why. Mike Baumann has a very good team, who cared very much for our needs and wants. We learned a lot from them, and if we ever build again, in this area, it's Baumann. If somewhere else, we learned a lot about how to proceed.

Truly impressed and grateful for the craftsmanship and originality of the custom piece Graham…read morecreated. I was looking for a unique home office installation that could function as a workspace while also housing my library of music, photo albums, and books. I also had some specific wish list items such as a "hiding" bourbon nook. While the functionality of the piece was crucial, I would dare to say the aesthetic was even more important to me. My hope was that the space would be so inviting and inspiring that even after I'd hang up ye ole' work hat, that I'd still want to linger in the room to unwind with a good book, some good tunes (and maybe a tumbler of good bourbon too...). I've dropped in some photos of the finished product as well as my original crappy doodle of what I was looking for and will try to upload a few photos once I get everything settled. Graham and his small but mighty team were amazing to work with from start to finish. Graham was highly collaborative and offered phenomenal suggestions. My favorite was his suggestion to situate the bookshelves above the desk at an angle. This provided more of an ample workspace and also added to the artistic flare of the piece. I plan on hanging up a canvas print in between the bookshelves, so the orientation of the shelves will also guide the eye to the print. Because Willson Woodworking is pretty much a one person show, it took a few months from when I gave the green light to when the finished product was installed. However, Graham and team were upfront from the beginning about how many projects were queued up prior to mine. It is beyond worth it to have a one-of-a-kind piece that is of the highest quality rather than something that is mass produced and can be found in every other home. One other note on value: I did reach out to two other contractors about the project before deciding on Willson Woodworking. One was a local handyman, and one was a closet solutions company. All three quotes came in at roughly the same price. I think this speaks volumes about just how reasonable Willson Woodworking was in terms of pricing. This was definitely an investment regardless of which contractor I chose, but there was no comparison between the three in terms of the finished product. Shout out to Kevin, who professionally painted the shelves (regent blue). Like Graham, Kevin was kind enough to stop by my house and talk through thoughts on color choices. Plus, he helped Graham install the finished product! Another shout out to Raychel, who coordinated the administrative components of the project. Full disclosure: I'll be posting this same review on other platforms as I want to be sure to champion this local vendor!

Sure, I know how topaint stuff. But, after reading many many Internet horror stories of DIY paint projects, I looked for a professional painter with experience and a history of success. Bam! Shelly's Kitchen and Design. From start to finish, Shelly and her staff were committed to making this project, which also included new countertops for both areas, a complete success, and it was! Everyone who I met or spoke with; Hannah, Holly, Liza, Carrie or Jason, took the time to explain their individual role in this process, including Shelly. Her experience and guidance were invaluable, her patience greatly appreciated and her straightforward approach to decision making was - in a word - refreshing. Visiting the shop a couple of times to choose colors and hardware allowed me to see the operation in person. I saw the same types of cabinetry go in the RUSS booth and come out perfectly painted. The transformation of my tired well-worn kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, to something more contemporary and fresher looking, was incredible. Like they say, its's amazing what a little paint can do. After living in our home for 15 years, we were ready for a change but didn't want to spend a ton of money. Shelly's Kitchens gave us a phenomenal new look for a fraction of the cost of replacing my entire kitchen with new cabinets. Our home is an open concept and seeing our updated, modern kitchen makes me love my home again! The quote process was very easy through the website and I got a response very quickly. They were extremely professional and attentive to all of my questions. My husband and I visited their shop to see what the finished product would look like before deciding and we actually really love the grain of the wood still visible through the paint. It gives our kitchen so much character! Everyone who came to our home was professional and polite. We had a small issue with a hardware hole being in the wrong place and they took the door back to the shop, corrected the issue and brought it back within a week. From beginning to end, the process was about two and a half weeks, and that includes the door they had to make a return trip for. Everything was clearly communicated. I could not be happier with my kitchen! Shelly and her team did an incredible job!!

JORGE TO THE RESCUE: We wish we called Jorge to do the self-leveling and installation of our floors…read morein the first place. It took three attempts to do the job! Jorge is an honest hard worker and EXCELLENT at his job. Now after 3 months of remodeling, we can finally say we are finished thanks to Jorge! Highly recommended. The back story; We had our garage converted. And the floors had to be re-leveled. We installed bamboo wood that ended up buckling due to moisture and a bad sub-floor level. The bamboo had to be ripped out and the floor was "supposedly" re-leveled a second time by our contractor who admitted to making a mistake, This time we installed laminate wood instead to be safe. And the sub-floor again was STILL UNEVEN! We fired our terrible Contractor who messed up twice then ghosted us and cost us a fortune. We got another team all together - one to pour self-leveler a third time and Jorge to install the laminate wood. There were still portions of the floor that were dipping. And jorge told us about it, he went out and bought cement and re-leveled the two spots himself right then and there knowing exactly how to install our floors to perfection. We are so grateful.

With less than two weeks before my mom came for the holidays we were freaking out just a little. I reached out to Jim via Yelp and he responded within a couple hours, arranged a time to come over around our evening schedule, sent the bid within a couple hours offering options to add and subtract services based on our budget and was absolutely polite and professional. We had two other bids and JEM Flooring provided an inclusive cost to include moving furniture, installing trim, a toilet and added on some drywall for us- none of the others included these services and one wanted us to rent a pod, was dismissive of the flooring we purchased and didn't provide a complete bid. His costs were very reasonable, too. They worked through the weekend to keep the process moving with our approval and made our home look five times better than it did when we purchased. The floors have no gaps, the trim is caulked, the air return vents are no longer falling off the wall and they even installed extra trim throughout the rest of the house we planned to install ourselves. This was such an amazing surprise because this involved moving a couch from the kitchen, the washer and dryer, sweeping our pantry floor full of dry dog food and moving the fridge. Mike also installed it behind the toilet and a bathroom where they repaired the drywall. Lastly, Jim did a final walk-through with Mike on their final day to ensure everything was top notch before he met us in the evening again to walk us through everything before making the final payment. Invoices were easy to read, included the change orders and showed the discounts for the items we removed. Between the professionalism, politeness and personality of Jim and Mike I can't imagine working with anyone else. OMG, we are so happy!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
