I would have loved to give this a better review, but I can't.
The managers seemed to be a sweet older couple, until we, and many other people had issues with one particular site that was extremely disruptive to everyone around them.
While several of us made the manager aware that the noise level, and obnoxious behavior that ran well past 2 am was not allowing us all to get any sleep & we have to rise at 4 am for work, it was allowed to continue FOR MONTHS, AND MONTHS. We were told they had been warned on a couple occasions, but it didn't stop. Because the other campgrounds were full with people working on the same job, my husband opted to accept a position in another state and we left. We stayed from March-Sep.
When we made the decision to leave, I made it clear to the manager why we were leaving months earlier than planned, we gave him and his wife a gift card to a restaurant because we genuinely liked them and felt because of their age this disruption was being done behind their backs after they left the park for the day and went home. Another reason was the manager is experiencing health issues and we didn't want to say anything else about it to him. It was at this point, that I was elected by my husband, and a few other people residing in the campground to contact the actual owner of the property. We were all fairly confident that she had absolutely no idea what was happening here.
I told her how after hours when the pool was closed these people people would go into the pool falling down drunk, after climbing the fence drinking, yelling, obnoxious, and one guy even put floaty's on his kids who couldn't have been more than five or six years old each, and let them go into the pool while they stood on the other side of the fence. (The motorcycle guy) But that wasn't the worst, the worst was seeing the disruptive couple with his face in her crotch while she was sitting on the side of the pool and he was in the pool.
We were all subjected to howling, barking like dogs, scream singing, loud music, fires that smoked everybody out so we could not sit outside because it was too smoky, drinking until they could barely walk and then pulling their pants down peeing where they stood, and then climbing into a vehicle to drive out of the park to get more beer, then falling out of the truck when they got back. I watched a traveling nurse beat his dog (I reported it) because it didn't come when he called her. No one leashes their dogs here either.
But the icing on the cake, was the huge party they had the night before we were leaving where one of their buddies rode his motorcycle (pool kids with floaties guy) up to the camper right next to us and revved his engine at 1:30 AM. He lives within a 1 minute walk in the park. After they partied and drank he walked over to the camper behind us and Peed all over front of the camper. Classy, yes?
When this shindig finally disbursed at 3 am, the husband (the wife who's a teacher was just as bad) disruptive couple moved a truck in front of the path where we needed to back in to hook up so that we could not leave. "Let them have fun with that." - his words
I told the owner all of this on the phone.
I requested that the truck be moved so we could leave. IT WAS NOT MOVED.
The day we were to leave I saw the manager on his golf cart riding around, he refused to speak to us, he would not look at us, he was very upset that we had spoke to the owner. Very disappointed in his behavior.
We figured out a way to get hooked up, and at 6 pm we were ready to go. Magically, the disruptive couple came outside laughing and moved their truck. This was their typical behavior drink all day and all night until two or 3 AM the next day and then sleep until five or 6 PM and get up and do it again. They also yelled at us, "hey xxxx, why you leaving? Was it something we said?" *laughs*
Unfortunately I had found out after we left, another camper told us that the disruptive couple had stayed there before and was asked to leave, moved to another campground and stayed for a month, were kicked out of that campground, and then was allowed to come back into this campground.
This could be a great place to stay, but the owner needs to clean house and have someone who lives on site to watch over the park. read more
