I did a pick up order for 2 starters which was the egg rolls 8.99 and the popstickers 9.99, I also ordered a large drink which I was charged for. When I placed the pick up order the they took my phone number and told me that I would be called when my food was ready. I arrived 30 minutes later because I did not receive a phone call and the waiter told me that my food had been ready for 10 minutes. Also I was charged for a large drink but was given a regular sized cup and when I asked why they told me that those were the only size they had. My ticket was 28 dollars because when you do a pickup order, there is at least 10 dollars worth of fees you are not told about. My food was cold and the girls were rude and unfriendly. the sushi was really good, we are passing through the city and we were looking for a sushi place to eat, since we are lovers, we have eaten sushi, in Venezuela, Peru, Panama, Colombia, and in various places in the United States. But everything is marred by the lousy service of the waitress who seemed not to care that my brother was allergic, because she was in such a rush to close and pick up that I had to repeat to her several times that there were no sushi options for people with shellfish allergies. It should be noted that the place was empty when we arrived, there are no excuses for such poor service.In addition to this, the sushi order of 3 different people was not served on a single plate "because according to they had run out of plates" (the waitress's response) when we had previously ordered separate dishes served on different plates. read more

We have visited several times, but since I had a gastric bypass in April, it had been awhile. Walked in at lunch today not crowded. Seated ourselves. Received prompt service. We noticed on a board at the bar that they were having an appetizer special. It was a huge platter with sampling's of several reg menu appetizers for $12. We order that, the Red Tuna Sashimi, and ginger salad for starters. Ginger salads came first. There isn't much to them but none of the sushi spots I've been to have extravagant house/ginger salads. The dressing is yummy though. The Sashimi seemed fresh. And my husband loved everything on the sampler. He actually stated that the Jalapeño Poppers were some of the best he has eaten. I took tiny nibbles of the things I thought I could handle. The Crab Rangoons I didn't care for. Bang Bang Shrimp was tasty. But the Egg Rolls were my favorite. Onto the entrees: The menu is pretty extensive with several options for the sushi roll lover. Today I went with the "Heart Roll" while my hubby opted for the "Pearl Jam". Mine had Crawfish and This was my first time EVER trying it ... (I know, I know! What is wrong with me, right?) and I loved it!!! The roll as a whole though was not my favorite. Idk I guess I'm looking for something a little less sweet. My husband's roll had the same sauce so it too was sweet. That has nothing to do with the restaurant though... personal preference only. I mean, it was good just not my favorite on the menu. As I said, we have been here several times and we will back again. Cook doesn't know what medium steak is. My steak was charred and cut into tiny pieces. I ordered filet but I'm nearly certain it was just steak. Barely any meat on my plate compared to last time. Veggies tasted unseasoned. Rice was blah.. very sloppy. Going to be awhile if we ever do decide to come back. Please train the person running the grill about different cooks on steak. I have no idea why this place would only have three stars. This is the most reliable restaurant in all of Jasper. Admittedly, the last time we went in there and ordered the chicken appetizer they were the size of little pebbles. It's like they ran out of chicken and cut his pizza chicken into four pieces. You only get 10 pieces on the appetizer and we usually use it as a meal for our son. There was barely any chicken in each one so he had just white rice instead however, that is the worst part about any experience we have had at this restaurant. We have eaten here about five times since we moved here in December and we've ordered takeout from here at least 10 times. Every time the food is fantastic. Every single time the sauce is awesome and everyone working there is wonderful to us. The servers are always great, and everyone working behind the counter as friendly and work focused. We really wanted to like the Japanese restaurant across town, but it's a three compared to rock 'n' roll sushi. My kids beg for the Yum Yum sauce daily. Keep up the good work you guys read more

Went here with 5 teammates after a game and got charged 18% for a large group when it starts at 6 people. More of our teammates walked in later but did not talk to or sit with us. Totally separate parties, and still got charged a large party fee. The general manager Danni had an attitude when I asked her why we were getting charged the large party fee. She said, "Well I'm not changing it." Very unprofessional. My $15 meal went right up to $25. read more

I wanted to like this place. I really did. I've been so excited to hear how downtown Jasper is trying to improve but I see some things never change. The first time I visited this location was shortly after it opened. The grill was not working, however they let us know that AFTER we ordered drinks. This normally wouldn't be an issue but my mother, who was with me, doesn't eat sushi. So a heads up would've been nice. My sushi came back out quickly and was good, but the appetizer which was ordered as my mother's meal, came out after I was long finished with my meal. We paid and left, but shortly after leaving, I realized my 10 month old left a toy behind. Upon returning to find it, it was spotted on the floor where waitresses saw it and would purposely step over it, rather than move it out of the way. I realize that has nothing to do with the food, but to me it let me know the type of people they hire. My second experience with this location was just this evening. We were not greeted upon arrival and we sat ourselves. The manager on duty was sitting in a bar stool in the corner, playing on facebook, and not so discreetly pouring herself some pretty strong drinks. We waited for over an hour for our sushi and watched the manager get sloppier and louder. By this point we were hangry and very annoyed at the way they conduct business, so we paid our tab and left. I tried to write off my first visit as issues of just opening a restaurant, but I now see that this is just how this business chooses to treat customers and represent the chain. You can bring all the nice and cool restaurants to Jasper, but you still have "Walker County people" working there. read more

Rock n Roll sushi is a horrific excuse for sushi and terrible in every sense of the word. It is beyond me how the chain has become so successful and continues to grow. I ordered one rainbow roll just to test out the waters. Most of the special rolls are deep fried, have deep fried ingredients, and or are smothered with spicy mayo. I know they're focus is on non traditional sushi, and I definitely enjoy non traditional rolls but these sounded a little to heavy for me. First of all, the rice. Sushi rice literally means seasoned rice in Japanese, and this rice is not even seasoned.. ergo , my reasoning for why this should not be called sushi. Rice rolls, sure, but NOT sushi. The texture is too overcooked as well and it is just not a good quality rice at all. It's the kind of rice you can make at home by buying generic short grained rice at walmart and tossing it in the cooker. Second of all, the fish all had a slight fishy taste to it, especially the shrimp. BIG NO NO when it comes to sushi. Fish should NEVER be the slightest bit fishy. Many people are comparing R&R to Bayou Fresh in town. Bayou Fresh is definitely not the best sushi in the world, but it's pretty good for affordable sushi. They at least season the rice (though not perfectly) and use fresher fish that isn't fishy tasting. However the customer service at Bayou Fresh is so awful it's not worth going there either. Guess I'll be stuck at home making my own sushi which is better than either of these restaurants. read more

So when RNRS first came to jasper I was so excited and I fell in love. I seriously for the past 3 months pretty much eat there every Sunday night I get it to go. The same exact thing every time. Well I've been hesitant about going bc they got a really low health score that just came out. I skipped a week or 2 but just couldn't bare it anymore. This past Sunday I called in my order and went and picked it up like normal. Well I totally regret it. I threw it in the trash after the first 4 bites!!!! The shrimp in it was burnt or old or both. No cream cheese. I paid for extra sauce and I couldn't hardly find sauce on it at all! And it tasted funny. I didn't know if it was from the missing cream cheese or what. I was so disappointed and mad I waisted $15! That's a freakin lot! I won't be back and it totally sucks bc that was my go to! Oh and the shredded crab on top was like glued it mushed together. Like it was formed in a melted square. I had to get a fork to separate it and still had problems with it clumped together. They won't get my money again. We were the only table in the restaurant. We ordered our food and drinks with a girl. A guy brought us our sushi. He didn't know ordered what or what rolls he even had. We started eating and realized quickly that something wasn't right. My gf doesn't eat crab so she ordered hers with out it. Both rolls we received had crab. The girl that took our order didn't come to check on us and was her phone. Finally when the guy realized that we weren't eating, he came over and asked what the problem was we explained we didn't think we had the right food. He took my plate and asked someone what roll it was and then he came back and switched our plates and said he just didn't know who ordered what. I made a comment about our server being on the phone and then he informed us that she had transferred our ticket to him. That would have been nice to know. When we explained that she asked for no crab his response was "well what do you want me to about it?" We said nothing else. Ate out food and left. Probably won't be back. Rock N Roll Sushi has been in Jasper for a while and today it dawned on me that I'd never tried it. I love sushi so I decided to stop by for dinner. Since the menu on the website doesn't have prices, I decided to walk in, see a menu, and order to go instead of calling my order in. I looked at a menu, made my choice and waited....and watied....and waited some more....then waited some more. I ordered a California roll and a shrimp tempura roll (nothing too crazy or difficult). Nobody stopped to give me an update or explain why it was taking so long. Over 45 minutes from placing my order, a server comes up with my order, thanks me for my patience and gives me a card for $5 off my next visit. Great, that's ALMOST enough for an appetizer. I get that it's hard to find workers during the pandemic, but they seemed well staffed. The sushi was good (especially for a small town in Alabama) and the staff was friendly enough, but that excessive wait for a to go order is probably going to keep me from going back. read more
