The franchised Dreamlands are so different with a plethora of choices, more to the liking of the suburban south. If you like that, go for it. For my money, you can't beat the original. We may have resigned ourselves to the possibility that we may never find all of the criteria that make for a successful dining experience here in Guin, Alabama. The front entrance has no signage and you can't be 100% sure you are here. The inside reminds me of going to the American Legion with Uncle Bob when I was a kid. Reports from the family came in as the following: The chicken was dry and needed seasoning, the catfish was chewy on the edges, dry towards the center, with a distinct fishy taste, and definitely needed some additional seasoning. Uncle was not impressed. The smoked meat, itself, was well prepared (as average smoked BBQ goes). Mom was disappointed. The service was fine. There were 5-6 teenagers serving the few customers in on a Saturday evening and checked on us frequently. They were very polite and our food came out fairly quickly. I will say, as a side note, the drive through was pretty steady. We were a bit surprised to be greeted by the owner (Greg) sporting his tattered overalls and ball cap. He sat and joined us for a bit of conversation during our meal.
