On a road trip across Alabama, we stumbled across this old-school burger place in Russellville and…read morestopped for a late lunch. Now, the interior has seen some things, okay? One of the booths has been mangled to oblivion and is unusable. The place was understaffed for the volume and pace of business it had on a Friday, so tables weren't being bussed like they should. But I'm perfectly capable of getting napkins and wiping down condensation from the last guy's Coke, you know? Customers were politely throwing away their own trash, so that was not a problem, IMHO. We ordered indoors (you also have a walk-up outdoor counter option), my husband getting the foot-long chili dog (more on that to come), while my son and I both got a single-patty cheeseburger (his with fries, mine with onion rings). All three of us had enormous fountain drinks (Pepsi products) over crushed ice. The burger patties were what we used to call "slugburgers," preformed patties (Sonic sized, not Krystal or White Castle sized) with light condiments (thank you for not drowning the burgers in mayo, etc.) with chopped onions...Vidalias, if my taste buds were not hallucinating. They were well seasoned, too, with melty American cheese. Noms! The buns were fresh, too, which is always a plus. Boy and I gobbled them down quickly. As for the onion rings, I'm a huge sucker for handmade, and these were just awesome. The batter was light (maybe a beer batter?) and crispy, and the onions were mild. I could have probably made a meal of them alone. Now, my husband is a big Coney fan. So, he was a little disappointed in his hot dog. It didn't taste bad; it just wasn't what he believed it would be. While the bun was a foot-long bun, the dog was actually one and a half normal dogs. Petty? Maybe. But here we are. A bigger disappointment was the "chili." Remember the sloppy joes we got in school? (Sloppy Joe Day was like a holiday when I was a kid.) That meat sauce is what covered the dogs...with cheese sauce like you get on ballpark nachos covering the top. He ate it, but said he's getting the burger next time. His onion rings, however, were fabulous, so all's well. The soft serve was delicious. So, definitely stop for lunch, but if you're feeling snobby...go elsewhere.

This place should have stayed closed. You are given one chance to make a first impression and well,…read moreyour Hawaiian king was the choice since it is one of your specialties. First off the toppings weren't that great of a quality. Second, your dough was sub par and the sauce wasn't flavorful. Third, the dough was nearly burnt on the bottom and very undercooked where the sauce was. When you put too many toppings on a pizza you cause it to trap the moisture from escaping and if your oven temp is to high you overcook the bottom and create a trap that causes it to stall the cooking process. Went back after you re-opened to see if things improved any. Well your pizza was done but it lacked flavor from a poor choice of the vendor you are getting your product from. Both times I've been there I was the only one there getting anything. Sad to say it but for the prices you are charging for sub-par pizza. If you are this slow why are you not making your own dough because it's a simple process to do. For the person that owns this and you are also the one making the food, take pride in what you make and try to make it the best you can. If this is the best you can do then do yourself and others and close permanently again and give it up. Btw. You know they are desperate for business when they over charge $9.99 for a fish plate with the worst coleslaw I've ever tasted (which was spicy) a few fries and one pre breaded fish.

The pizza crust was obviously pre-made/ store bought. The traditional wings was so small and dried up. We ordered an appetizer called the breaded mushroom it was so disgusting. It was greasy and taste like if it was from a store bought in the frozen aisle . The prices are to high in my opinion too The restaurant grade was a 87
